I have the Samsung note pro 12.2 which I purchased a few months ago. Sometimes when I use it especially when in multi view the touchscreen is not working properly ie. It lags and feels like it isn't calibrated. This happens most notably when using s note. I purchased a new s pen so I know that is working properly and the issue is with the tab. I have also removed my cover since I read that the magnets may affect the performance of the app.
I suggest u to take it to the service centre.

If your Note Pro fails the Wacom Test, you should return for service. Touchscreen is the top glass, Wacom is on the LCD, they will replace the whole LCD assembly because both glued together.

Hello all,
I have been thinking about a new design for a windows mobile phone that I had in my mind and today I managed to put it on my blog at http://sollers.wordpress.com/2009/02/19/ideal-mobile-design-dual-slide-out-mobile/

Honestly, I do not know how to design a phone, nor I know what software to use, but I did some simple design using powerpoint and hopefully you would understand what I had in my mind.
Let me know what you have in your mind and what you think of this kind of phone, if this comes to market. Will that be useful really for consumers?

Dear abdelamine,
Thanks for your reply
What is the model name of the sharp handset you put in there?
Cheers

Definitely an attractive concept on paper.
The practical downside of a "dual slider" like that is thickness, though. You'd probably wind up with a bulkier device than you'd like.
I think a good, solid touchscreen really reduces the need for a number pad, and since you've put a nice, full-face widescreen on there, I think I'd get by fine without one.
Essentially I would like to have dual touch interface,
1. Touch screen display
2. Touch screen pad (when you slide down it shows number pad)
3. Touch screen keyboard (when you slide left it shows full querty)
With no buttons apart from the four standard buttons below the display. I hope the two touch based screens (display & input) will help reduce the weight and need of having hardware buttons as keys.
I happened to find this little gem on Ebay when i was just browsing items for my Galaxy Note 8.
When you are not using it as a keyboard, it doubles as a protective case.
You place the Note 8 either in portrait or landscape-mode in the slot above the keys and it then looks sort of like a netbook. I personaly do not like the other types of case/keyboards out there as they often get bulky and sometimes they do not look to well with nothing to really hold the tablet in place except maybe a rubberband or just a sleeve where the tablet sits quite badly while you type.
As i said before, the keyboard works as a protective case when you are carrying the Note 8 with you. It snaps on to the front of the screen with a good fit and there are no buttons, irports, speakers or usbport blocked while the case is attached.
The keyboard has home and back buttons as well as eight other fuctions such as copy/paste and play/pause for media. It is charged through a microUSB-cable that is included in the package.
I dont use it as much as i thought i would, and sometimes i touch the screen with a finger while typing on the upper row of keys (the number-keys). other than that it works well, easy to connect via bluetooth.
I could also see myself paying a little more for a version with sturdier plastic as it does not feel really safe to place the tablet in portrait-mode, the plastic above the number-keys tend to buckle and i guess repetitive use could break the plastic completely.
I found it here on ebay
and here are some pictures and a video:

Yesterday morning my phone was working great, then all of a sudden about an hour later I noticed that the touch was behaving weird, I was having a hard time unlocking my screen and also from time to time it's doing stuff by itself. So I downloaded a "touch screen tester" and swiped my fingers all over the screen and noticed that there are two horizontal "rows", one on the top and one on the bottom of the screen with a height of about 1 cm which doesn't work properly, when I swipe my fingers across it only registers small dots all over it. Also, sometimes in this touch screen tester there's a thin horizontal line which appears on top of the screen, which means the screen is randomly "fills dots" by itself.
I checked the LID and one looks pink to me, the other white. I haven't submerged the phone into any form of liquid, so I'm having a hard time believing this error is caused by water. Should I send the phone on warranty or should I try something first? I've heard that warranty doesn't cover cases where the LIDs are pink...

I have same issue with my Z3 dual. 1 line on center of the screen doesn't work and touch screen sometimes work weird - spontaneous touches by itself. I send phone on warranty and for now i have info that they repairing it. I attached my screen test.
UPDATE:
I sent the phone on warranty to Sony. They sent me a new phone, I got it yesterday. Super happy with their support, was without my phone for only 4 days.
I bought Z3 LTE from Sony Store last week but I returned it because it had edge light bleed problem on the left side and I returned it. I ordered a second unit few days ago and I received it and seems it has the same thin light edge bleed as pictured below.

Note this is only visible at an extreme angle and is not visible straight on or looking at the phone at a small angle. Also it's only visible on non-black colored background
Is that normal for and LCD screen? should I return it, or don't worry about it?
Thanks!
your chances of finding a perfect panel is basically "zero." if there arent any dead pixels and the backlight bleeding doest affect your viewing experiences then just stick with it. the chances of you getting a more defected one is higher.
you should also go into dial pad and test it with the service menu by inputting
*#*#service#*#*
I believe that is normal.

I ran a complete diagnostics when I received the phone. Luckily everything passed and got zero sight of dead pixels, stuck pixels or clouding! Its not the first time I have seen this, I had similar problem with my xperia S, Z and Z1. So its seems like its a normal thing
I'll take your advice and stick with it. :good:

Is there any 3rd party equivalent to this? I want the smart window functionality via NFC. It would be great to know beforehand so that I have something else to choose from.

This is not "via NFC" (except for pairing), the smart window is detected with a magnet.
Ok I stand corrected. But yes, something like that.

There are lots but with no Smart Window functionality.

I got a SCR42, and to be honest it's not THAT useful
I have the original case SCR42 and for me it is very functional when it comes to the window. Especially if someone is calling. Then you can see right away, and you can answer or reject the call without opening the case.
If you want to quickly take a picture, it does not need to open the case, because the preview is scaled to the window.
i bought it and don't like it. It lacks one of the main functions. there is no Access to phone book or at least speed dial/favourites and you have to open the case to make a call.
i removed it and bought panzerglass (tempered glass) + TPU and face an even bigger problem. panzerglass presses on the proximity sensor and the screen goes blacj during a call.
honestly the phone Works best without any accessorries. Save your money.
