[Q] Album App Always Folder View - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
I recently switch my Galaxy Nexus to Xperia Z3. But I didn't like default album app. Normally I could use Album app but when app starts it change view to All files. Then I siwtch view to Folder. But next time I open the Album app view all photos not in Folder view.
Is there any way to stick in Folder view for all the time? I didn't find any default open view setting in the Album app.

How to get Album tab in TouchFLO to show pics in SD card.

By default the Album tab in TouchFLO shows only pics in the pictures folder of the device. Is there anyway to get it to show pictures in Memory card by default?
Go to Album, select the album you want to view in touch flo, then go to menu and select album as favorite.

Thanks! That was easy!

Check setting for "Camera" to say DCIM and "Locations" to storage card\my documents\my pictures (points default to the device).
That's funny - all I've had to do (I no longer use Touch Flo) was just name the image file for the album "folder.jpg". If the jpg is in the same folder as the song being played - it shows up.

[Q] Album art in the Gallery

Hello, i was wondering if there is a way to prevent all my album art from showing up in the Gallery. I added a lot of music with album art, and now when i open the Gallery to look at my pictures, all the artist cover art is everywhere. Any suggestions? thanks!
Add a file called .nomedia in the folder where the album arts are stored and the gallery will not show that folder's images.

It worked at first... but now the MP3 files wont show up in the music player. if i remove the .nomedia file then they will, but the images appear in the gallery. Is there a way to make the images not appear in the gallery, but have the Music files appear in the music library?

Gallery with album art

So, I've searched but found no solid answers. Is there any application that hides it from showing in the normal gallery view without it affecting the pictures showing up in the music players. I know of Gallery Lock and another but they hide it completely and don't allow it to show up in the music players as artwork.
tl;dr: want app that hides artwork from the default gallery viewer.

How to lock Sony's "ALBUM" to specific folder(s)

Is anyone able to advise me on how to force Sony's own ALBUM aplication to look for media in specific folder(s) only. Currently, Album searches for media throughout whole device and lists items I don't want to see like book covers, album art for music, images that are part of emails and also folders I would like to keep semi-private.
Coming from HTC, I was able to set their own album app to list media from specific folder(s) only, generally folder for camera shots.

create a file called .nomedia in each folder you do not want the media scanner to scan

that was actually my last resort solution I thought of. It's gonna be major pain in ass to identify hundreds of folders containing media.
Isn't there any more elegant solution, like to tell Album to look for media in this folder only?
For example MX Player lets you select specific folder to scan for new media only...

Set Gallery to read only Camera folder? Set another default app instead of Gallery?

so in android 6.0, when i used my camera, the images (when clicking the little preview button on the bottom) would go to gallery, but would read only from Camera folder where the captured images would be saved.
now with 7.0, if i click that little preview button to the right of the shutter, it starts off showing ALL the pictures from all the folders, including wallpapers, screenshots, etc. and none of them are in order.
can i change that somehow?
also, i can't seem to change another gallery app as default, like QuickPic.. is that really not possible?
Not sure about switching default gallery apps, you can't switch default video player apps, but you can create a file named .nomedia in the folder of each folder you don't want media to show up in the gallery from
Create .nomedia in the folder containing the images/videos etc, reboot the phone, it should remove those images from showing in the gallery, but they will still be accessible form the folders themselves

oh that's cool to know. will that only affect the Gallery or other apps like QuickPic as well?
UPDATE: the .nomedia file affects other apps like QuickPic gallery as well. however, in QuickPic i can click "show hidden" and those appear.
its a decent workaround, however i wish samsung didn't screw up their gallery even more.
thanks for the advice.
