[Q] Hipstreet Flare 3 9" Tablet root help - General Questions and Answers

Hello all!
Ive got a question that hopefully isnt to stupid or has already been asked but I have searched the forums and google for the last 2 days and cant seem to find what I am looking for so I figured i would post here and see what people say
I just recently baught me and my girlfriend the Hipstreet Flare 3 9" 8GB Tablet from walmart and so far its awesome! but of course as a geek at heart i want more out of it
What I am now wondering, is if i can root this sucker and get a custom rom installed to gain a bit of speed as well as functionality. I was hoping to get tethering setup on this sucker so i can use it in my car for my stereo as well as on the go for gps etc and all the non root apps SUCK and never work properly.
I have posted the specs and a link below so hopefully someone has either already taken this on or can point me in the right direction of getting this rooted

[Q] Q: How to install CyanogenMod on a MID7015

I've been reading this "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101094&page=183" post for a long time where they public a CyanogenMod that can be installed on certain models of tablets. I realize that there are two kinds of Coby Kyros MID 7015, One that comes with GB and other that don't.
I have the non-GB tablet, allready rooted and using a watery rom but i think that CyanogenMod will work a better, so...
In that forum they said that there's a rom for the non-GB tablet, but i was unable to find it. I would like if anyone could help me telling me where's the file or where to search.
If there's any procedure besides to install CWM on a rooted table, so please let me know.
Thanks for answering.

[Q] How do I root ZTE T760

Hi,
I just bought a ZTE T760 just recently and was wondering if there was anything I can do to make any modifications with it? I was hoping to at least be able to root it, but unfortunately I haven't been able to find too much except the following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1319257
Which seems promising but I can't find a clock work mod for my device, and I'm a little worried in just testing that out since it seems more particular to ZTE blades. Do you think it will be okay to test out?
And I was wondering if there is any good roms out there as well? I tried googling but it came up with one that didn't really seem to stable?
Its also locked onto boost mobile, so I would like to unlock it too but, thats not super important, and from googling in that, it seems paying for an unlock is the best way to go (plus I'm not too sure about the legality of unlocking myself?)

Hi guys, just an update, I got Kingo Android ROOT online and it did everything for me!! It downloaded the driver, ran scripts and rooted, and actually looks kinda nice. Try at your own risk, but worked for me

Excellent news.
Did you end up finding a suitable ROM? I have received a T760 that I have been asked to root and put a custom ROM onto, yet to root it but I will do this tonight... but that leaves me with finding a ROM for it.

Hi, definitely good news, the biggest problem I have though, is I haven't been able to get Rom Manager installed in the boot thing, which meant I haven't been able to try any roms of which I haven't been able to find unfortunately.
You might have better luck at it though.
so Good luck
Will let you know how I go

Can I upgrade Alcatel Hero 2 to Lollipop?

I'm a complete newbie in the Android world (iPhone user), so I'm so sorry in advance if I'm asking a stupid question. So today I bought an Alcatel Hero 2 from Amazon. The device hasn't arrived yet. The device has Android Kitkat on it and from some youtube review videos I knew that the customized Android version installed on the device is chubby so I thought if I can upgrade to vanilla Lollipop then the performance will improve.
There is very little information on the web about the Hero 2. I only found a webpage (can't post a link here because I'm new but google for "upgrade alcatel hero 2 lollipop" and you'll find it) that says one can upgrade to Lollipop, but it seems to be SCAM. Thus I thought it's better to ask here to get trusted answers since I don't want to get into security problems.
I know what ROMs are and have a little background but I don't know where to get trusted ROMs or if it's possible at all to upgrade my phone. I appreciate any answers.
Many thanks in advance!
Probably not, unless Alcatel comes out with its own Lollipop update or more threads appear here for Hero 2 ROMs.
The Hero 2 isn't very popular, or at least well-known, in the US. I'm surprised you even found it for purchase. Was it on the US Amazon site or a foreign version? Got a link? I was interested in a Hero 2, too, but I could never find it, and now it's getting a little long in the tooth.
Sorry this isn't the answer you wanted. Is it an all right phone overall, though? Reviews were generally favorable.
I don't think there is Lollipop rom for your device.
Hi guys,
any news about lollipop update? Im choosing between Hero 2 and LG G3, but Hero 2 is cheaper for me and it has little bit bigger screen. Any advices please?

Supposedly a working Marshmallow for Hero 2: http://android-4xda.net/tutorial/upgrade-update-alcatel-hero-2/
7.1.2
Hi there, I managed to port a RR rom (7.1.2) for this device. If you still want to try it out let me know, I would make a thread but sadly I can't
Please, if it is not too much trouble, you can update the link

This is weird, I looked all over and cannot find any links for original flashing files, not even 4PDA.
But, the rom I ported has no sound (unless you wear headphones), and camera is not working. This was basically just an experiment on trying to port it for first time, but sadly I do not have the device anymore so I won't be able to help much. If you still want to try it, here's the link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/resurrection-remix-5-8-5-alcatel-t3913051
Meanwhile I'll try to keep looking for the original stock ROM for your device, there has to be something.
I'll let you know if I find anything.

[Completed] Flashing "budget tablet" Dragon Touch X10

Hey guys,
I recently bought the cheap, but pretty fast "Dragon Touch X10" from TabletExpress. However, I had some troubles with the Android 4.4 installed and I was thinking to give it a try with a custom ROM. I have to say, I have been reading here for some hours, but I am kind of lost. I realize that most of the tutorials here are speicifically adressing more well-known models like samsung etc.
I think, what I want is something like the "Kangapop", a ROM which is basically like the plain android stock version from google.
Can I find somewhere instructions of how to flash such an unknown model?
Unfortunately, I cannot post the link for this tablet as a new user... The brand is "TabletExpress" and the Model is Dragon Touch X10.
Thanks in advance!
Does anybody have at least a hint where I could read or learn to figure it out by myself? I am a bit overwhelmed with the information out there.
Thanks!

Hello dear,
ROMs is specific for every device model, that means that you can't use rom from other devices for yours. :/
Thank you

Can I update Tab2 7" to Android 4.4 or higher

Hi,
Total Newbie here so sorry if this question seems silly or otherwise!!
I have dug my old, redundant Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7" out from the drawer with the intention of using it in the car to operate my GoPro Hero 3. Only snag is the tablet is running 4.1 and The official GoPro app needs 4.4 or above to work.
So im looking for an idiots guide to booting and upgrading if possible., or for someone to show me how to complete the process step ny step. I have tried to look on the interweb for a guide, but there are several, mainly conflicting, guides that I have looked at. None of these seem to make sense to a complete newbie.
Thanks in advance for any help!!
OK
Don't use cwm, it is fully outdated and support for it stopped long time ago.
Go and find twrp for your device.
