Overly loud minimum bluetooth volume with Sony SBH20

I just got myself a SBH20 today so I can use bluetooth with any earbud. It sounds great but the minimum volume is quite loud (almost the loudest my ears can tolerate).
I searched on google and on here and found a few complaints about high bluetooth volume and most people said KitKat 4.4.1 has addressed the issue (I think my problem isn't exactly the same as described). I am on 4.4.2 already. Same kind of problem on a N7 with 4.4.2. I also tested it on a Nexus S on ICS and HTC One on Jelly Bean. The SBH20 worked fine with those phones since I can control its volume separately from the bluetooth volume of the phone.
Anyone here owns a SBH20? Do you have the same problem? If so, how are you getting around it?
I've a problem too mate :/
Yestarday I bought a Nexus 5 and there is a problem with my SBH20 bluetooth headset. My girlfriend said that she hear me very very low. With my Nexus 4 no problem. KitKat 4.4.4 stock in N5 and 4.4.4 stock rooted N4. Listening music no problem, all is OK.
I need this headset working or I will return the phone, I dont wat to buy another bluetooth headset if it will not work like SBH20, what a waste of money and time.
Is anyone having this problem too or know what is the problem?

[Q] Headset Mic Sound Problems in Calls

I'm experiencing an issue with my AT&T Sony Xperia Z3 (Android 4.4) during calls while using a headset with a mic. I've used several different headsets and they all have the same problem. This is running stock ROM and is not rooted.
When in a call, all of the noise being picked up by my mic is being routed not just to the person on the other end of the line (as it should be), but to my own ears as well. It's extremely distracting and I've never experienced this behavior before.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have a fix for this?

this can be compatibility between software and hardware generally
but it can cause because of Software bug in firmware >> so Repair firmware by PC Companion
if nothing change after repairing the firmware it can be faulty hardware in port and u need to take it to service center
:good:
I'll try repairing the firmware and see if that fixes anything. If this is a hardware issue, then that will obviously be a huge pain and I'm not looking forward to that process.

Mic too low during Bluetooth calls

I'm having an issue with my Idol 3 5.5". It functions normally when in handset or speaker mode I can hear the other party and they can hear me, but when I connect to my car's Bluetooth people tell me they can't hear me or it sounds like the mic is far away and under water. I did not have this problem with my last phone so I do not believe the issue is with my car (it's a Grom unit) I have only had this phone for a couple weeks and have had the issue from the beginning.
I'm running 6.0.1 stock ROM build 7VAB-UEB0
So far I have tried:
turning off and on Bluetooth on my phone during or right before calls
unpairing and repairing my car
I am charging an old Bluetooth earpiece to try that today and make sure it isn't an issue with my car.
Anyone else have this issue and were you able to solve it?
Me too, dont know what to do

Not the same issue. That thread is talking about poor/low microphone when recording video. This thread is about poor microphone quality through bluetooth, which does not use the phone's microphone.
I'm still trying to determine what the issue is. I tried using an old bluetooth headset and the test call was fine so I will try it tomorrow while driving to confirm. It might be that the Idol doesn't like certain bt devices.

You have to be on the wrong firmware. This happened a while ago to me when I first got my original X2 and updated to B203 through fastboot but never updated the firmware the correct way. You're gonna have to dload back to the stock rom for your device.

The problem started on the original firmware.
Anyhow i'll tried the original software again, and 2 firmware releases from honor.
Problem is still there, the device gonna be used for wireless Bluetooth controller.
Thanks for your time.

Problem with top speaker. Any solution?

Hi everyone. I've got a problem with top speaker on Xperia 5. The sound coming from it is distorted. No damage to the speaker at all. Actually I've got it replaced. Still the same problem. It looks like a weird software issue. And it seems I'm not alone with it. Someone advised to switch off Dolby Atmos but it doesn't help either. Any solution? Thanks
I have the same problem as you
I am trying to search for the cause and solution of this speaker distorted problem. I think this is from some fk up software update. Hope sony will fix it asap
