[Q] Best Model For Lollipop OTA ? - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I ordered a SM-N915T unlocked and looking to get Lollipop OTA and want to know what my best option is.
AT&T is my carrier.
I saw someone said they bought a SM-N915G and they said out of the box it was ready for OTA for Lollipop but didn't state what carrier.
I want to make sure that I am getting 4G LTE but without the bloat ware.
Should I send it back and go with a SM-N915G or another model ?
Appreciate your help !

is it possible to downgrade from 4.4.4 to 4.4.1?

Hey guys i got a galaxy s5 from sprint, there's a domestic unlock on ebay, but it requires the phone to be on 4.4.1, i was wondering if there was a way to downgrade to 4.4.1 so i can unlock it?
thanks
I wouldn't trust a domestic unlock from eBay. If it were possible, it'd be here if anywhere... But all you'd need to do is install the stock tar. I'm not sure where it'd be, I like the newest version possible
Here's 4.4.2 I don't think there is/was a 4.4.1 for the gs5

I dont think there was either. Mine came Out of the Box 4.4.2 then updated to 4.4.4 then 5.0 now
April is Autism Awareness Month. Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S5
Were you able to domestic unlock your Sprint S5? Please advise me. Thanks.

ive domestically unlocked 2 of them. @stifilz does them on here for donations or idoneapps does them for $35. I unlocked mine via idoneapps, and they both worked like a charm

SM-N915T Unlocked work with AT&T ?

I've been told that even though the SM-N915T is unlocked I can't update to Lollipop and use AT&T.
I can update the phone using Samsung KIES to T-Mobile's Lollipop update but that if I use AT &T I was told I'm in for trouble.
Can anyone shed some light ?

Remove simlock

Hi xda, it's been a while since I've been here and looking around has me scratching my head a little.
Anyway I have just purchased a galaxy s6 from eBay foolishly thinking it would be easy to remove the simlock but after a little reading I'm beginning to think I may have made a mistake. I'm not sure what network the phone is locked to as I have not yet received it and the listing states in the title O2 but the description says Vodafone, all I know is the model begins G920F. I thought maybe rooting and flashing a stock firmware would remove the simlock but after reading it looks like this is not the case. I then read also about "tripping knox" which sounds like something I don't want to be doing.
Root is probably something I will be looking to do in the future but not essential right now but I would be very grateful if somebody could tell me the best way to go about putting my virgin sim in this phone.
Please help
Thanks Peter.
I thought the 920F is the facotry unlocked international version so any sim would work.
When are you receiving this? Where are you trying to make this work.

Most European providers don't simlock, so you will most likely just have a provider rom, they are easy to replace with a generic stock rom
He is sending the phone out first class tomorrow so I'll report back after I have received it. I'll be using it in the UK, hopefully I'll get lucky and just be able to use it as soon as I get it. Thanks for the replies people.
Try buying an unlock code from one of the many reputable online unlockers.

no you need an unlock code
Well I received the phone today and it seems I don't have to worry about the simlock as it's a bloody counterfeit!!! Grrrrrrrrrr, in the middle of a dispute atm but hopefully I'll receive a refund. Anybody that wants to help please see this thread...

The Sm-N920F wasn't released. The SM-N920C is the international variant. If you have an 'F' variant then it means your phone was either a sprint or Verizon variant and was taken to China for the technicians to root and install a custom firmware which is like a mixture of Verizon and sprint. They did that in order to network unlock the phone to be able to support all carriers. That explains why there are no firmwares for your phone. Your best bet is to flash the sprint firmware and even when you do that am pretty sure your phone will be locked to sprint again. So you won't get reception. Do that at your own risk for I won't be responsible if you fry your phone

Change Rom G955U to 955W

Hi guys,
I got an ATT S8+ from a friend but I am in Canada. It has a bunch of ATT default apps which I want to get rid off. I wanted to know if it's possible to flash the default firmware for our version here 955W.
If yes do you think I would be getting future OTAs from bell or still from ATT.
Thanks
Hello
If you just have a problem with the operators applications, look here:
