I bought a power bank on Amazon and the seller included a funky glass screen protector with my purchase. It's definitely different.
It's a tad thick for a screen protector, but it extends the touch surface up above the top of the screen, to where you see the SAMSUNG logo.
Then there is an app you install with it that runs in the background that lets you put 4 hot keys in the row above the screen.
Technically what it's doing it putting hot key touch areas on the top half of the status bar. Then the screen protector extends that touch area to above the screen so a touch above the screen registers in the top half of the status bar.
The end result is that you can instantly jump to your email, web browser, weather app, or whatever you want from any screen. Plus it's a screen protector.
I thought it was interesting. Here is the product on Amazon
They make it for a couple different phones, including the S4/5/6
I tried it for a little bit. It works. I didn't notice a battery drain due to the app running in the background. But I only played with it for a few hours as I typically don't use a screen protector. I just thought I'd share this with the crowd in case the concept has value to someone.
Truely it is a tempered glass, but also intelligent
i used this NuVending's Smart touch tempered glass on my Galaxy Note 3. The installation is pretty easy. No bubble. So I did not need to ask help from the guy in Macy's shopping mall and saved installation fee. In the beginning I was thinking the virtual keys were nonsense. Later I decided to give it a try and play with it. I installed Messages, Bible, Evernote and Maps since sometimes I do need to check some of them pretty quick. Push the bottom return button then I returned the previous session. One or two click, no scrolling to search the apps in my homepage (I got 3 full pages of apps at home pages) . That is it. I began to like it as I used it more.
Above all, it protects my cellphone screen too.

Dear Group, i've got a new Wizard and very nice it is too. I bought a screen protector and spent the next 5 hours trying to get the thing on perfectly!, but no matter how i try i still get a few bubbles.
Now, i've had my mobile phone for about 18 months, and the 1st thing i did when i got it was to get my Lady Wife to make me a nice soft velvet pouch to put it in. I can honestly say thet the phone is like new, not a mark on it!
So, given that accidental damage is almost ruled out, is there any compelling reason why i should need a screen protector?
Many Thanks
That little piece of plastic called 'screen protector' isn't really for drops and hits. It's for scratches from daily use, fingerprints etc.
If you do any stylus intensive tasks like games that don't use hardware buttons, sketching or handwriting recognition then I'd say it is a must as it is much much cheaper to replace then a screen.
If not, you may do without it, especially since the wizard has a qwerty keyboard meaning less touch screen use.
Personally I had it on my iPaq 1710 for year and at the end it looked scuffed and scratched, but when I pulled it off the screen was without a trace just like when I first removed it from the box.
As for bubbles, if you apply it carefully and go over with the little piece of cardboard they provide you shouldn't have any. Some little ones dissipate with time.
Any way it is mostly matter of taste. I use it on both my devices and from day one and like the results (good ones also reduce glare when outside in day light).
Of course they are necesary.
See you
Hello,
Until this morning I was using the screen protector that came with my Pro. And I don't mean the bundled protector you can apply yourself, but the one that comes applied while shipping lol.
But I did that because I know protectors are very very hard to put on without bubbles and dust, and it was indeed hard, I spend around 40 minutes to apply it.
The protector I'm using now is a Brando one, which I think it's excellent, from all the people who saw my phone today there wasn't a single one who noticed the protector.
Anyway, what I wanted to ask is that this only protects the screen itself, so the bottom touch panel is unprotected. Should I leave it like this? If not, what are my options?
One thing I noticed is that when I removed the original protector from the panel, I can finally use camera focus, so even if I use some kind of protection, I will probably need a hole for the center button.
The main reason I'm asking is because I read here some people saying the home and back buttons are peeling off, and I definitely don't want that to happen.
Oh, and no, using cases or any kind of outer protection is not an option. Phones are made to be pocket devices.
Thanks.
I have the zagg shield on and it covers the entire bottom plate plus the center button. Feels great and dont even know its there, no problem with the capacitive touch. Only problem is its on the expensive side, and the screen protector part is useless
Boxwave.
I have used many protectors over many phones. The Boxwave (there are two, I prefer the non-Anti-Glare one) is the most scratch-resistant I have used. For the Fuze (Touch Pro) it comes with the piece for the bottom (with a hole). I notice no degradation in sensitivity of the scroll wheel to zoom in Opera or to actually scroll in other apps. I wish it came with a piece for over the camera port, but that may not work on the brushed aluminum trim that is there.

I wanted to put this out there for anyone who might be interested, since I have never been a fan of the usual "peel & stick" screen protectors. They hardly ever go on right and I think they interfere with the touch sensitivity of the screen. So, I decided to give one of these military grade, high tech, screen protectors a try to see if they were any different.
The first thing I noticed is that this one is thin. I mean like Saran Wrap thin. This is great for the touch response of the screen but it made me wonder how well it would actually protect my phone. Second, it is laser cut accurately to fit the screen and all of the holes are in the right place. Supposedly, this material is used to cover the blades of helicopters and it is advertised as being "self healing". On this, I am happy to report that it really does work as advertised. Small scratches slowly fade away and disappear over the course of a few days. One day, I accidentally slipped my phone into the same coat pocket as my car keys and it came out with a bunch of tiny little scratches all over the screen. Within a few days they were all gone. It was kinda weird.
This screen protector is applied with a special spray. I was a bit concerned about having to do a wet application but it really isn't that hard. The package comes with good directions and a link to a video to show you how to put it on. The downside is that your phone will be out of commission overnight while it dries. At first, there will be some minor blemishes, or tiny bubbles, but these will all disappear in a few days. The finished product is crystal clear, almost like having nothing at all. It has kind of an orange peel feel to it and your finger stick a bit, until a little oil builds up on it. The only real negative I have noticed is that finger prints show up badly. I find myself cleaning the screen a lot.
Last, this product comes with lifetime replacement. I can attest that the company stands behind their product. The first one I ordered had a small bubble of the material right in the center of the screen. I was really irritated by this, after all the trouble I went through. I contacted the company and within two days an entire new kit was delivered to my door.
I found this one on Amazon but I'm sure you can find it, or one like it, elsewhere.

Yeah, I've been through a lot of them. You need to have about 6 to get one on right! If you're lucky - you get it in less than 3 tries and have some on hand for next time.
I purchased the IQ shield product based on the original poster's recommendation. The product arrived ahead of schedule. Like other liquid mounted product, it was fairly easy to put on and adjust until properly aligned. All of the cutouts were correct.
The finish product initially had few bubble, which I squeeze out the bigger ones with the enclosed squeegee. Most of the bubble disappeared after a few hours. The rest after a day.
The surface is really smooth like glass. There isn't any decrease sensitivity issue. The only issue as indicated by the original poster is that finger prints shows and is hard to clean off.

This is my fiancée's phone. I installed the screen protector last night. I followed the instructions: spray a thin layer of the solution and avoid getting liquid near the speakers/holes. I used her blow dryer on the lowest setting to speed up the curing process.
I've installed several "wet" screen protectors in the past so I at least have an idea at what I'm doing.
Prior to installing the screen protector, the Yahoo Sports ticker was able to scroll through her favorite teams. Now, it looks like it's constantly trying to refresh the feed (swipe down on the edge screen). It also happens with the Yahoo Finance and News panels as they scroll through the feed.
This does not affect any of the other panels as I can scroll through the "Favorite Apps" panel without it acting up. The camera controls on the edge panel works.
I'll give it a few days for the screen protector to fully cure/dry to see if it makes any difference. If not, I'll see what AT&T can do since I got insurance for our phones.

I'm having problems posting from the app...

Came across something called intoro glass on Facebook today. It's basically a screen protector that appears to protect from pretty much everything including sharp objects.
I've done a search for it and only two videos and one Web result appears. The product itself looks to good to be true but also looks like a good investment as I'm constantly dropping my phone.
I'm a bit skeptical of buying from there, knowing so little about the product or the site, and the fact there are no reviews
Very expensive screen protectors. I couldn't get mine to adhere well and although they answer emails quickly they are refusing me a refund as they say I miss applied it. I'm actually very disappointed with this company.
Absolutely rubbish screen glass protector. Used it less than a month. Just put the phone in my back jean packet tigether with a pair of scissors. The screen already broken on the side corner and cut skin around my thumb. Also, the protector doesn't cover a whole IPhone 7. Hope to get money back.
