What is Sense BootScreen Changer actually?
Well, as the name suggests, its a Bootscreen changer for HTC Sense based roms.
There are many apps for this purpose! Why did you made one?
There maybe many other similar apps! But none of them seems to work on Sense based roms since the location where the bootanimation file is stored in these roms are different. I've installed a Sense based rom on my HD2, everything was perfect except the bootscreen! I tried some bootscreen changer apps but they didn't do the trick! I had to manually replace the file using root explorer. Since i was a n00b on these kinda things, it seemed kinda hard :angel: but somehow i managed to get it done. It gave me an inspiration for making a simple app for this purpose because there could be others like me who wanted the same but failed!
Why SU Permissions are asked?
Because the bootanimation file is stored in the system directory, SU permissions are needed to replace the file.
Why Internet Permissions Are asked??
The program sends anonymous usage statistics about each released version to my server. The information sent does NOT contain any user specific data/personal data that can be used to trace back you! It just increments execution times on my server!
Backup Can Be Created But Can't Restore!??
Sorry! that functionality will be added soon! This was actually a learning exercise for me, this is my first android app! I'm a windows developer & i didnt had any idea about linux systems or android! I've started to catch up & further updates will be made soon as i learn more!
Feature Requests/Bug Reports
Feel free to report bugs or errors! Since this is my first app, there could be a ton of bugs! But, i've tried my best to release a stable version on to the public! Please suggest for new features also!
Tested on Android 2.3.5, should work on all greater versions!

Can you post some screen shots of what the new animation look like ?

Just FYI. I tried it on the Sprint EVO 3D and the replace failed (probably because Sprint puts the boot animation in /system/customize/resource and calls it "sprint_bootanimation.zip")

Giving it a shot on my rooted HTC Amaze.
Can anybody recommend a good spot to get (or how to make) boot animations?

@tjeannin, you should be able to get a screenshot of the bootscreen from where you download it from!
@Senacharim: Thanks! BTW, you can search the forums for bootscreens! Here is a link: Sensation Boot Animations. Its for HTC Sensation, but should work for your device too! :fingers-crossed: (I'm not responsible for bricks though!).

Did you read this..? Every other dev. is waiting to use the base.. And u already did it within these 3 days..? I think u didn't ask LlabTooFeR for permission..
ROM cookers should ask my permission for using ROM as base,any releases based on my ROM should be 3 days after the initial release.
Original base will be available 3 days after initial release.
Any custom ROM's based on my release within 3 days after initial release in any aspect will be reported to moderators as kang.
Any part of this ROM can be used for creating mods or tweaks, you do not have to ask my permission for that.
Please respect these simple rules

The question is did you use his base for your Rom? And it's 3 days not 3 hours.

Llabtoofer has made his restrictions on using his ROM as base clear: no go until 3 days after release. Please respect the developer's wishes.

Hi everybody. As we were saying in htcmania (spanish forum) I've been working in Stable MIUI Releases, trying to improve them.
The main difference is that the ROM I've built it's rooted, when stable miui releases are not. I will be adding mods, improvements, etc. asap. I am currently studing two Masters so I don't have much time.

Download the rom
Backup your apps and data with stock MIUI app
Flash CWM recovery for mi3
Wipe all
Flash the ROM. It will ask if we want to fix stock recovery flashing and we say yes, and if we want to fix root, and we say yes too.
Reboot. We activate root permissions as always.
Go back to recovery if you are having problems and flash Root_flashable.zip
Restore your apps and data using stock miui backup app

If you didn't do a clean instalation, as I do, don't report any bug, please. If you want everything to work properly follow the instructions. If u report a bug and nobody reported it, maybe u did something wrong. By doing this u are confusing the dev and other users

Just use your PC and download it then transfer it to the tablet

After installed the build.prop and rebooted it was doing weird stuff, it changed it's style (the UI), it turned upside down, some apps crashed, it even said something about Google legal issues.
Tested on Tab 3 T111, i am glad that i was smart enough to do a backup.

Kernel seems to be missing a few features of the stock, and installed BusyBox corrupt
As mentioned above, there does seem to be some issues with the kernel and root methods.
Everything else works like a charm, as it did when it was stock, however, V4A no longer takes to the device with the kernel (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ustomized-kernel-sm-s820l-finally-to-t3513050) (Non-ADB root), and Orbot no longer properly connects. All signs point to this being because the kernel you made lacks the NetFilter feature, needed for VPN's and Proxies.
In other news, I would assist you in correcting this, and building a CM port from your ROM, but my PC's hard drive blew and I'm currently looking for a replacement, as well as more RAM and a CPU that at least runs OpenGL 2.
I do have my hands on a completely stock firmware for the SM-S820L and I will see what I can do with it from there on my device.

Hey there!! Thanks for the info. I wonder if I uploaded the wrong project because I have this Kernel installed in my phone and I use PIA vpn which works just fine. The Busybox does seem to be messed up because when I tried to install an update Stericson version, I got a bunch of errors.
I use Assayyed Kitchen to mod the stock components for both Kernel and ROMs. If you know your way around this Kitchen or have other methods to fix these issues I would be grateful for the help.
