What is Sense BootScreen Changer actually?
Well, as the name suggests, its a Bootscreen changer for HTC Sense based roms.
There are many apps for this purpose! Why did you made one?
There maybe many other similar apps! But none of them seems to work on Sense based roms since the location where the bootanimation file is stored in these roms are different. I've installed a Sense based rom on my HD2, everything was perfect except the bootscreen! I tried some bootscreen changer apps but they didn't do the trick! I had to manually replace the file using root explorer. Since i was a n00b on these kinda things, it seemed kinda hard  but somehow i managed to get it done. It gave me an inspiration for making a simple app for this purpose because there could be others like me who wanted the same but failed!
Why SU Permissions are asked?
Because the bootanimation file is stored in the system directory, SU permissions are needed to replace the file.
Why Internet Permissions Are asked??
The program sends anonymous usage statistics about each released version to my server. The information sent does NOT contain any user specific data/personal data that can be used to trace back you! It just increments execution times on my server!
Backup Can Be Created But Can't Restore!??
Sorry! that functionality will be added soon! This was actually a learning exercise for me, this is my first android app! I'm a windows developer & i didnt had any idea about linux systems or android! I've started to catch up & further updates will be made soon as i learn more!
Feature Requests/Bug Reports
Feel free to report bugs or errors! Since this is my first app, there could be a ton of bugs! But, i've tried my best to release a stable version on to the public! Please suggest for new features also!
Tested on Android 2.3.5, should work on all greater versions!
Download APK File
-Thanks!
Aravind.V.S
Yo!.. Nice app..
Can you post some screen shots of what the new animation look like ?
Just FYI. I tried it on the Sprint EVO 3D and the replace failed (probably because Sprint puts the boot animation in /system/customize/resource and calls it "sprint_bootanimation.zip")
Giving it a shot on my rooted HTC Amaze.
Can anybody recommend a good spot to get (or how to make) boot animations?
Thanks Haeriz! :good:
elektrik2001, can you confirm that? Don't have any sprint devices to test!
@tjeannin, you should be able to get a screenshot of the bootscreen from where you download it from!
@Senacharim: Thanks! BTW, you can search the forums for bootscreens! Here is a link: Sensation Boot Animations. Its for HTC Sensation, but should work for your device too! :fingers-crossed: (I'm not responsible for bricks though!).

I have been tinkering around with different files on my phone, and I decided to change the HTC lockscreen up a bit for the fun of it because I thought it was bland. Here is what I came up with.

EDIT: Thanks to JsChiSurf, I figured out how to Metamorph, so I created a metamorph for this theme. Here it is
http://www.mediafire.com/?wvoiixy9o49my1p
Let me know how you like it!
Looks nice.
Your best bet is to create a MetaMorph, that can be used to apply only the graphic changes you have made to the applicable apk file. This way, you don't have to re-distribute the entire .apk, rather, just the files you've changed.
Thanks for the input. Is there any way you could link me to a tutorial?
Here is a link to a YouTube Tutorial with a nice overview of how a MM is created.
Also, easiest way to then see it done in action is to rip open an existing MM zip file and see its structure / content. If you follow the link in my signature, you can see a bunch of MM XML files that I've posted that you can use as a reference.
Alright thanks man, I'll check that tutorial out
so you want to know how to make an update script
I'm just looking for the easiest way to update a theme. I haven't checked out that MM tutorial yet. Do you think flashing as an update is easier?
Creating / flashing an update zip redistributes the entire apk file, thus undoing any other changes anyone may have previously done to the same file, which is what you are trying to avoid.
Alright, then I know that MM is the way to go. Thanks for all the help!
Ok, I looked at a couple different MM files you created JsChiSurf, and I came up with a simple one for my lockscreen. It seems to apply just fine in metamorph, but when I restart my phone, nothing changes. Am I forgetting a file ? Here is the metamorph that I used
http://www.mediafire.com/?faqi7ystsi1n55y
You have a spelling error in your folder structure. As a result, if it did apply, you may want to check your existing com.htc.resources.apk file, to see if MetaMorph ending up creating a new folder and dropping the files into that folder, based on the spelling error.
You named your sub-folder 'drawable-mpdi'. Where you have transposed the 'p' and the 'd', it should be:
drawable-mdpi
Got it working great now. Thanks alot!
I am pleased to announce my first major contribution to XDA : I like to call it "evoTRONic".
EDIT :
I now have a somewhat working version for Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5! So far the only thing that is not working is the flip clock. I am having some graphical errors with it. Other than that everything looks good on my phone. The link is at the bottom of this post!
What this is :
This is a port of "Tron Sense" from the Nexus One forum here by cubanaso.
What it works with :
This ROM should work with any Stock based ROMs. As I am stuck with only 3G coverage I can't download numerous ROMs to test it out on. As time goes on I hope to make it work with several others (Such as Warm TwoPointTwo).
It has been tested on Stock 3.70.651.1.
UPDATE :: This does not work for Warm TwoPointTwo. I am in the process of making it work Myn's ROMs are my favorite so I hope to have a version for it up soon.

Instructions :
MAKE A NANDROID!!! Then flash from recovery like any other zip. This is an amend scripted zip, meaning that it will not work with ClockworkMod 3.0+ yet. I also recommend wiping your cache partition if you are upgrading from an earlier version.

Wonder if this works with freshs rom?
Only way to find out is to try. Make a nandroid first and if it doesn't work I will try to add a version for fresh.

Yup sorry that was a dumb question.. I thought about it after I hit the post button..Haha
OK, I'm moving this out of J's CM7 thread so that I'm not spamming it on him. This is a boot animation done for J's CM7/FreeXperia 2.3 but will work with other ROM's as well.
I kind of like a little action with the boot animation on my phone so I decided to cobble something together to replace the (rather excellent) splash screen that J included with v018. It turned out OK so I thought I would share it with you all.
It's not my work. Animation is thanks to cole20444 over at droidforums.net and the splash is thanks to Uraharasama from the bootscreen contest here on XDA. All I did was remove some frames and add a few others to give a smooth transition from animation to the splash.

Bootanimation.zip is not flashed with XRecovery and is used as is without unzipping it. You can use adb to push the file to either /system/media (this will overwrite the original) or to /data/local (leaves original as is and this version will be used instead) an alternative to using adb is to use root explorer.
Gingerbreadman reports that it's a bit laggy and doesn't have time to complete before lock screen appears. I'll continue to strip it down to reduce the length and to make it smoother.
OP updated with V2 which should be shorter. Still going to need some working on smoothing the animation out.
An easy way to install this for guys like me that dont know about adb and stuff is get root explorer (mount r/w) and go to system/media and cut the boot animation out and place it on your sd card as a backup and then find your downloaded one and move it to system/media. Dont unzip the file. Reboot to see effects ;-)
Ok v2 is much much smoother and better and doesnt lag. Has plenty of chance to complete. Perhaps the animation could be a little longer cos the splash screen is shown for perhaps twice the length of time of the animation.
Another small suggestion would be to perhaps replace the android on the splash screen with a cyanogenmod android with his skate board but of course this is personal taste
Thanks very much GreatBigDog grand job

It seems to be great.I'd like to have a try.
Thanks a lot.
Hi folks,
This is the port of the sexy keyboard the Xperia x10i users used to use in 1.6
thanks to realunited123 for the efforts making it work on 2.1
thanks to pvyParts for telling that the libiwinn.so is necessary for this but is missing from 2.2+
go ahead and press the thanks button for them

DOWNLOAD and flash with ANY recovery as you wish _ Edify scripting (MTD update-binary and updater-script)
There you will find a version that supposed to work on ARMv6. Please test it if possible! Thanks!
Your actual libiwnn will be backed up to /system/lib/libiwnn.so.bak when you flash THAT zip (because the ARMv7 one works that zip won't backup your lib. If you want to keep the old file, then do a backup)
Looks like the ARMv6 lib is not functional. If you can provide me another one, that would be great!
The lib for ARMv6 is fine. However, the keyboard doesn't work, so logcats would be appreciated. Thank you!
MD5 of ARMv6 libiwinn.so:

First thing to do is to find the cause of the FCs on ARMv6 devices. After that further modifications will be made.
So don't forget guys, logcats from ARMv6 users needed!
Thank you!
PS: I made this post completely with that keyboard ^.^
No responses so far? No fear people, it won't hurt your device.
Try it and write anything about it.
If you get FC anywhere, then please report it.
If you are using a phone with ARMv6, then send the needed logcats, please.
But really, write here ANYTHING what comes in your mind and you think it's feasible.
OK, now that everyone is talking about what's happening with the Xperia X10, you should help me out. I'm on holiday now, but I'll be at home in like 7 days.
Thank you and don't let this thread drowning again
Just typing with your keyboard.
HTC Desire running MIUI 1.7.22.
Working excellent.
Thanks a lot!!

You mentioned libiwinn isnt it libiwnn, this is a library for iwnn ime keyboard , iwnn ime is an japanese emoji keyboard... you can find the the thread true emoji keyboard or emoji keyboard 4.2 flashable file. When you will unzip this flashable keyboard you will get it in lib folder what is libiwnn.so and the applications in app folders.
WARNING:Flash at your own risk, i strongly recommend backing up your current phone first. Also this cannot be ran from ICS demo, you also cant even get CWM on ICS anyway so im sure your on GB. This is my first time uploading a post of mines on xda, i usually use cricketusers.com so you can find more from there but enjoy!!
READ*
If you cant download anything from the market after
flashing this then continue reading for fix.
#1. Go to settings and manage applications
#2. Go to all
#3. Scroll to Google Services Framework and clear data
#4. Scroll to Google Play Store and clear data
#5. Restart your phone and it should work
#6. If step #5 doesnt make it work then use the fast restart app once then restart your phone and your all done.
