Problem installing Themes - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I am having problem installing themes with error "failed to install content -999". I had backed up my data via TB pro which also included some themes. After installing the custom rom and then restoring the data the theme was restored too. My current theme applied was a mixture of few themes. I cleared data for both themes store and themes and also have also deleted all traces of theme files under TB. Even then i am getting installation error, any help or advise as i dont want reset my devices as leaving out of town for 2 weeks and not enough time to setup the phone once again.
TIA.

Might be a network/server error. Redownload your theme at another time.

Incorrect Icons In Launcher (Cyanogen Mod)

Hey guys, this is my first thread on XDA so first of all hello
I have a problem with cyanogen mod, i partitioned my card to enable apps2sd and it was fine, then i installed a theme mod of cyanogen and didnt like it so i reflashed the original mod. It has a few problems so i then done a "Wipe settings" from the recovery mode and it had odd icons on my launcher after where it was trying to load apps from the memstick that were not installed ( at least thats my guess) as they always forced close, so i then formatted the EXT3 partition to remove all apps and wiped again to make sure it was all clean. Since then i have reinstalled all my apps but some of them... thinking about it most of my "Paid" apps dont have their icons in the launcher. And they are called the same as their package name for example nesoid is called com.android. I will try attach a screenshot to this post.
I tried to search for this but couldnt find anything, anyone know a workaround for this?
Have you tried using the fix_permissions script, in recovery? Try that if you haven't yet. If that doesn't work, just reinstall your apps that do not have icons. They'll work fine after that.
Sorry for double post but i have apparantly fixed it by either updating to 4.1.4 or before i rebooted to the new update i pressed repair ext filesystem.
Either way its working now

[Q] Please help!?!

I am running the FRG01B build that was manually updated and am rooted with rom manager. I want to install a new rom using rom manager so I can overclock my phone but really do not want to lose my data/apps or have to redownload the apps (I have 209 apps installed). I have MyBackUp Pro and tried to backup everything on the phone but after it has shown "backing up apps" and it is trying to upload my apps to the online servers I am always getting an error. Here is my question: If I don't wipe data when installing a new rom, will it work and if not what will happen? Basically what I want is to install a new rom and after everything installs, my phone is the exact same except the rom itself (app shortcuts are in the same place, ect. Is this possible? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

[Q] How to restore the original apps?

i tried a couple of themes in this forum and i used the backup option in "Chewitt's" installer, but after finishing and restoring the backed up apps i didnt see all the original backups, for example i still have the launcher from the Dark10 theme.
so can anyone give me the original apps that should be backed up
UPDATE: i had a startup problem after the last theme, so i flashed my x10 and i have to root it again ;-)

Installing apps on custom ROM causes reboots

Hi!
Apologies in advance, I don't know much about the workings of android, I just follow guides!
I'm trying out my first custom rom, namely gingerclone, and am having trouble getting all my apps back up and running...
Before installing the rom, I backed up all my apps and settings with titanium backup, so I could restore them much easier after the rom change.
Although when I tried restoring them, I had lots of force closes with titanium backup itself, and about half of my apps would immediately FC on opening and didn't have icons. I then uninstalled the problem apps manually in settings>applications, and tried installing via the market. For some apps, it worked fine, but for others, whenever I try to install from the market, my phone reboots when the download is done and it tries installing. Sometimes it won't even download and just gives me errors, and for some they will install, but will not launch, just force close. I've tried cleaning the dalvik cache with titanium backup, and deleting settings files for the problem apps from my sd card, so that as far as I can see, there is no trace of them. But still, random reboots whenever I try installing, or unopenable if I manage to get them to install.
Any idea what could be going on? Plenty of other apps have installed and are working fine, so I'm stumped.
Had the same exact problem trying to install apps with titanium backup.
what i did was just slow down and install each app one by one and wait for each app to completely install before trying to install the next.
trying to download all of them all and once always made my phone reboot like it does to yours.
well hope this helps!
Wel I ended up uninstalling them all and trying to install again from the market, but I can't even get them to install individually now. It seems like trying to restore the backup has put some rogue files somewhere and is messing it up when I try to install the apps...
I have no idea why, but everything has started working again, so problem solved :/
I don't know. That never happened with me

[Q] Problem with miui themes

Hi all,
I have a HISENSE u970 phone with MIUI v4.7.5 on it. The problem is that when i change the theme it's reset to the default theme, always.
If I edit the default theme ( wallpaper, rings...) doesn't reset but when i change it to another theme it's reset.
I tried with free and paid themes but always reset.
I already tried wiping data and cache even reinstalled the ROM completely but the error persists
Check miui sites as they are not supported here.
