i tried a couple of themes in this forum and i used the backup option in "Chewitt's" installer, but after finishing and restoring the backed up apps i didnt see all the original backups, for example i still have the launcher from the Dark10 theme.
so can anyone give me the original apps that should be backed up
UPDATE: i had a startup problem after the last theme, so i flashed my x10 and i have to root it again ;-)

cheers if this works
I am having the same issue. The reason I want to backup up is so that I can keep my launcher pro settings and the arrangement of my icons when i install new roms. Is there another way to do this?
Fix for your problem....
Uninstall from your phone through market. Delete the folder that was generated on your sd card. Delete any backup that you may have created (like with Titatium Backup, etc.), then reinstall through market or download .apk directly from LauncherPro site. Should be good to go, it worked for me.
Thank you! It worked

Hi
A week ago i flashed my first Rom on my DHD. Before this, i backuped my apps and settings using Titanium Backup. It seems like i forgot to wipe my DHD befor flashing the new rom, because after flashing all my shelfinstalled apps and my settings were still there. So i never needed to restore my TitaniumBackup-Backup.
Now i want to flash a new rom. So i need Titanium Backup again to backup my apps and settings. But Titanium Backup isn't installed, or better ... i can not find it. It isn't in the App-Launcher and i can't find it under Settings --> Applications.
If i try to install Titanium Backup from the Market, the setup failed. "Nicht kompatible Atuallisierung" (in Englisch ~"not compatible update")
Can some one help me?
(Sorry for my bad englisch!)
Have you already tried restarting then downloading from market? I have had that issue.

Install the latest gapps. See if that fixes it.
This statement ([From TiBu website]It's done ! The only thing you may have to adjust is usually your wallpaper/widgets.) in the developers homepage is closest to what I need to know, though this doesn't fully answer my question.
I want to preform a complete system clean and restore using ODIN. I will then flash a new ROM.
Here are the questions
1- Where and how do I save the bu and res folder. If I'm preforming a complete bare-bones (2.1update1) clean of the system. In doing this the TiBu bu/res folder will disappear. So can it be moved to my pc?
2- Wallpapers are in my gallery on ex-sd. Does TiBu, yet have capability to restore widgets?
3- I have worked hard to get my phone (theme, icons, widgets etc...) to where they are the best for me. the ROM, not so much hence the change. How do I save all these things so when I install the new ROM it looks exactly as it does now but w/ a different ROM?
4- When installing a bu folder does TiBu need access to the market?
Thank you, Tomween1

1. backups are stored in a directory on your /sdcard/ (the 16gb internal one) called TitaniumBackup
2. your widgets are merely apps that you have installed from the market. the widget will be restored, but not ON the homescreen.
3. cant do it. with things like launcher pro or adw you can backup and restore configuration from within the app itself, but it wont restore everything back to your homescreen the same way it was before. where a widget was before you will get a 'problem loading widget' box.
4. no. backups are stored locally on the /sdcard/ as apks in the TitaniumBackup folder. it just restores those apks from the local storage. no need to talk to market for that
I'm thinking about doing a complete wipe and fresh install of my cm7 rom and kernel since somehow a stupid lockscreen morph got stuck and its in my only backup. If i create an update.zip with titanium backup pro, does that allow me to flash all the apps back to my phone without having to install them one by one?
-custom sig.

Creating an update.zip from Titanium Backup only creates a flashable zip for itself. Meaning it'll only flash install Titanium Backup, not your apps. And if you have PRO, it shouldn't be installing the apps one by one, PRO does batch backup/restore.
Edit: Sorry, just remembered that TB can make a update. zip with your apps. If that's the case then it shouldn't have to install them one by one, but if you got pro, it'll be easier to batch backup and restore.
Sweet, thanks man.
very useful feature especially you change ROM often
Hi Guys,
I am having problem installing themes with error "failed to install content -999". I had backed up my data via TB pro which also included some themes. After installing the custom rom and then restoring the data the theme was restored too. My current theme applied was a mixture of few themes. I cleared data for both themes store and themes and also have also deleted all traces of theme files under TB. Even then i am getting installation error, any help or advise as i dont want reset my devices as leaving out of town for 2 weeks and not enough time to setup the phone once again.
TIA.
Might be a network/server error. Redownload your theme at another time.
