[Q] G920i using on US T-Mobile network? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I am currently using my G920i international unlocked on AT&T network, and I would like to know if I can use this device on T-Mobile 4G network without any issue?
Any input would be greatly appreciated

Absolutely, just get a T-Mobile SIM ($15 at a T-Mobile store) and go online at T-Mobile.com pick your plan and activate. FYI - the 920I is not international that's the 920F. 920I is region specific North/South America. I use 920I on T-Mobile without issue. Just received Lollipop 5.1.1 update.

Tmobile firmware on g920i
I was wondering, can you put tmobile firmware on the g920i and get tmobile updates on the international version?

Yes because your S6 is the TMO variant SM 920t. If he tried to flash the TMO variant on a 920i variant it will cause a soft brick.

Yes, both the G920i and G920f support all of the required bands for LTE on at&t. We've discussed this at length here ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...s-unlocked-t3067580/post60601427#post60601427

G920i running Tmobile firmware?

Can the G920i run the firmware for tmobile? Is it possible for me to get updates from tmobile as well using the international variant? I want to utilize their VoLTE and their wifi calling, I just happened to buy the G920i... was wondering if the firmware for a different model will work
No it can't.

Mintsim T-mobile S7 compatibility

My wife has a Verizon version of the S7, but our service just ended and she bought the Mintsim 12 month sim card today. From what I understand there was ONE version of the S7 made - that the software itself is what makes the phone activate the proper service antenna's. Since there is so many misleading topics - I wanted a definitive answer, can ANY S7 be activated on any service? If not which version of the S7 is the better version to work with? The Mintsim service uses T-mobile from what I understand, so if a verizon S7 doesnt work should I get the T-Mobile varient (it is the more expensive of the used versions on Swappa oddly) or ATT or?
You can flash any to the T-Mobile version for best results, or just flash the 930u firmware and have all bands.

Sounds good. If you decide to want it as a T-Mobile version all you need to do is flash that firmware in Odin.

Use Firmware Of A Different Model

Hi,
I have a S8+ with the model SM-G955FD and was wondering if I am able to download the firmware for the model SM-G955F?
The phone was purchased outside of Australia and doesn't use the Australian (Telstra) firmware that I would like it to. I just figured they are the same phone just different model numbers so there shouldn't be any issues right? I might just lose a couple features or something but the phone should work correctly?
Thanks in advance.
Yea, the G955FD is the dual SIM Exynos variant, right?
I'm sure the dual SIM uses the same firmware as the single SIM, so you should have no worries flashing Aussie firmware.
But I would suggest you flash the XSA (Aussie unbranded) firmware, not Telstra firmware. You'll lose nothing, but you'll get faster updates.

I'm using Metro PCS service on a Singapore XSP and experiencing some terrible 4G service. Is there anything I can do about this, looked perhaps flash smother CSC onto my 955FD?

Here's the XSA (Australia) firmware:
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=0C53FCC1D0CA11E7A5F9FA163EE8F90B
Flash it. Doesn't matter if your device is G955F or FD, the ROMs are exactly the same.
Does the method works with G955J SCV35 model? I'm running NTDocomo firmware on KDDI model to unlock network (single SIM) . I wan't to flash unlocked U firmware but getting scared that the phone will be bricked.

Question Does different firmware effect function?

I have a T-Mobile S22 Ultra that I have unlocked, I flashed the T-Mobile variant unlocked firmware on it to get rid of the T-Mobile bloat and splash screen.
I've since switched to Verizon, I haven't changed the firmware. The phone barely gets 5g anywhere and 4g barely works, feels like running on 2g. I am in an area where I have towers very close by for all carriers and this shouldn't be an issue.
We've only been on Verizon a few months and they've screwed up so much, like our billing and so I'm. So we're actually going to switch again to at&t, since it's the only thing that comes in up north where we travel. Would flashing an at&t firmware help with those types of things?
Yes.

Different providers use different 5G bands, which is likely why Verizon's 5G isn't working for you on T-mobile firmware. You might have the same problem with AT&T if you don't use At&T firmware.
You are correct that flashing the carrier's firmware will fix your 5G, and that is the simplest solution. You can simply flash Verizon firmware and it should fix 5G for Verizon network. Or flash AT&T firmware if you're using AT&T network.
If you don't want to flash another firmware, you can also unlock all bands to fix 5G on your current firmware by following the guide that @Ramsi Hartmann mentioned.

Call Verizon and have them do a reprovison of the phone.. I had this issue when switching from Sprint to T-Mobile, when Sprint was around.. I had terrible cell, and data service in areas where I should not have.. After it was done everything went smooth not a single issue since.
