So i have MultiRom and it installed Kexec is that a custom kernel and if so can i root M preview 2 with it installed. Also if i installed Despair kernel and say later once M is officially out and gets cracked without the need for a custom kernel where do i get the Official Nexus 5 kernel.

[12 AUG]openOptimus build 2.202.1 on lg 500 whats the best kernel to use and if someone could point me in the direction of how to flash that kernel i have tried flashing kernels and the phone wont boot till i reinstall the rom again thanks
is there currently a custom kernel for ota 2.2? i currently have multirom installed and need the kexec feature but i notice the kernel img on stock is about 7 megs while pichu's kernel is about 5.5megs so im guessing i cant use his kernel with the 2.2 ota?
Hello everyone! Because i was tired of lollipop performance and bugs on our phone, i decided to downgrade to cm11. I found this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-t3216484 . But i cannot find a compatible kernel for it without losing wifi, so i have to deal with the screen flickering and subpar cpu management of the stock kernel. Can someone help me finding a kernel or making the newer ones work with wifi?
Have you tried the 4.4 Xperience kernel? Pretty sure, if I remember correctly, that I saw in another thread it doesn't break WiFi and had no screen flicker on L bootloaders.
I have tried the lollipop version of the kernel (XPerience29-falcon-kernel-test.zip) and it remains stuck at the bootanimation(no flickering though). The kitkat version(3.4.104-XPerience-18.zip) still has the flickering problem, it is outdated and has much weaker wifi than the stock kernel. The xperience kernel was my guess as well but the versions that work are pretty outdated.
I need it too, I want to use MultiROM with SlimLP as primary ROM and CM11 (latest build) as secondary ROM, but I can't make it work with Xperience kernel. I don't know which version I have to use.
It will be better if I could run stock KK as secondary rom but it's only a dream.
P.S: I am able to run CarbonROM KK as secondary (latest niropa's build), but I don't like it..there are some bugs
I dont know why , use a kitkat kernel to build cyanogenmod 12 , I build the testing recovery is success ,but cant use on phone , can every one tell me did I do a stupied thing?
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
All custom kernels are updated when a new Android version is released so I guess you can't use a KK kernel on a LP rom
Hi and hello to the great xda community. My question is this : I want my android 9.0.x custom kernel to be able for flashing on a Android 10 rom ... Little more explanation here: My device is a oneplus 6 With 8gb ram and 128 gb storage. Im running on android 9.0.9 oxygen rom with the great Smurf Kernel
The fact is this kernel is perfect! But i also want to run my oneplus6 with the latest oos 10.3.1
So there will be one thing for me ... I managed to build a kernel myself but my stuff was looking like a child drawing aha !
So i am now facing a giant issue when i try to flash an older custom kernel into a newer android os .... nothing happen it just not booting anymore !
i tried to cook the smurf kernel many time but the developper of this piece of engineering is far far too good for me i don't understand he's code and now he don't work on he's kernel anymore
SIMPLE QUESTION : is there a way to fix this custom kernel for being able to flash it in Android 10

No, you'll have to build a new kernel using the Android 10 source code to build the new kernel.
