So I saw the new commercial for the Droid Bionic with the hot kickboxer chick accessing files, music, videos on the fly from her computer. After I figured out what app it was I tried to go to Zumocast.com to get it, only to find that only the Droid 3 and Bionic were supported. I tried to find the apk (since it would not show up on the market) and install it only to get an error saying "not installed" After some digging I found a previous version that works perfectly with the current desktop version. Edit: Now all new versions are being patched and posted below.
This is not cloud storage, Zumocast lets you open/save your files and stream music and videos from your computers to your phone or web browser.
Files downloaded using the app at stored in /sdcard/download/ZumoCast/... [downloaded tab now works in ver.1.1.2]

Disabled: device check
Disabled: upgrade check
Disabled: some Motorola specific items such as Data Saver mode check. These didn't affect functionality but did fill up logs with error messages.

Changed: settings used when playing flash video to allow flash to use hardware acceleration if it supports it on a platform.

Fixed: Cannot open file if no SD card is available
Fixed: The Downloaded folder can not be opened in Files tab
Fixed: Allow unknown artist/album to be played
CyanogenMod users must have Adobe Flash Player 11 (or newer) installed for Video Playback to work.

Im working on getting the new version patched. Im not convinced it is in any way different or better though. Motorola bought Zumocast and I have a feeling all they did was repackage it and restrict its use to the Bionic.. Typical bull****. The main advantage I can see at this point is to remove the update prompt at start up. I understand the urge to have the latest and greatest but the previous version works perfectly and may be exactly the same feature/function wise.
I also tried build.prop edit with no luck so moving on to removing the market link.
On a side note the fact that Motorola bought the app and made it free for their devices works in our favor cause otherwise it would have been a $29.99 app.

Already one of the best apps ever.. been using it all day. I'd hit that thanks button a 100 times if I could, You rock. Thx!

Noticed the AndroidManifest.xml has a line indicating a dependency on a Motorola blur library. You may want to edit this and try installing. Then hope it doesn't really need blur.

Thanks for contributing.
I also noticed the <uses-library android:name="com.motorola.blur.library.home"/>
line in the XML. I removed it, recompiled the apk, and pushed it to the phone. It did in fact successfully install. However when I open the app I get "This device not currently supported.." So this is a step in the right direction. At this point I think changing the build.prop will work. Im going to keep working on the code tho and only post the apk if all else fails. Build.prop edits can have side effects and I would like to get this done the right way, especially since we have a working version.

What's so different from this than say.... drop box? Just curious

Yes the beta version was free but on their site it stated (I'm paraphrasing) "get Zumocast beta free before the full version goes on sale for $29.99"

No, that's strange, videos only play in landscape on my Evo 3D. If it still happens on 1.0.25 (once its working) I will take a look and possibly put out version with the rotation switched.

Can You maybe try to see if you can do this with the 1.0.17 with portrait fix?
So you say that your 3d will only play a video in landscape hmm..
I can go through the menu in both but when I hit play video it goes to Portrait

New ScreenRecorder in town! This one performs perfectly on Android 4.4 KitKat. It uses the native "screenrecord" binary from 4.4 ROM which give very smooth results. (All ScreenRecords that are not using the "screenrecord" binary will not work on Android 4.4 KitKat). Ugly Icon will be replaced soon (first name was KitKat ScreenCast thats why the icon says 'KKSC', Icon and market name will be changed soon)

Note: While recording your device may become a bit laggy, Recorded video (when played on PC) is 100% smooth
Steps:
1. Fill in the path of the destination file. this may not include symlinks, a hard links to your sdcard is automatically placed in the first input field.
2. Choose a bitrate, the default given bitrate is 4000000, which is 4Mbit. Higher bitrate means better quality. I prefer 8-12Mbit.
3. Press "Start Recording" to start recording the video, the app will now minimize, when you are done with your recording press the notification that popped up. this will stop the recording.

Sometimes you need to choose odd destinations such as /cache or /data to make it work.
for example I recorded to /data/filename.mp4 in this video:

oh it worked for you?
for me it kept telling me some fake message about me having no root. which is obviously not the case.
screencast resulted in black videos, not more, other screenrecord apps crashed.
but i did some searching on "kitkat screenrecorder" and it seems there are already like 3/4 apps that are almost the same as mine (but were posted earlier), all screenrecorders using "recordscreen" binary work on kitkat, all others dont work guaranteed.

No just a any rom based on kitkat 4.4, but i dont know if i9500 already has kitkat.
update news: I just found how to stop the recording without killing it, so today a new version with a start and stop button, and removed duration

Update to v1.2.
App dramatically increased, now user friendly, no duration set etc.

Curious as to how you modified the binary to allow longer recording...
Is it a case of hex editing the binary and patching out the 180s restriction (i.e. changing it to a higher value)?
I have no idea how to edit compiled binaries and would be interested in learning a few tricks!

Thanks for posting ^^. when doing it from source its really a minor change, when doing it with a hex editor it can be harder, but still very easy.
I recently hexed out a message that was spamming "mCompEngine is NULL" out of camera.msm8960.so, without any issues, just fill the actual spot with zeros and its done

The screen recording itself works great but I'm having a couple of issues.
I backed up the current binaries and then installed the hacked binaries but I'm still unable to record for longer than 3 minutes. Also, clicking on the notification to stop the recording simply brings me back into the app. I have to actually manually click on the Stop Recording button inside the app.
I'm using the latest version (v1.5) and have a HTC One, if that makes any difference.
Great to see that sound recording will hopefully be available soon as well

Works great on nexus 5 until I click the play/pause button in notification bar, in which case it stops playing music and launches Spotify... Very weird, I'll take a log if you need it.

i had that problem, but its a nokia coding problem ,since it also occur on nokia x. i will most likely not fix because MSIL is too weird for me

Actually pausing and resuming from the notification bar doesn't work at all, it just skips to the next song...

my nexus is installed in my dash upside down witch has never been an issue until I tried this app. is there a way to change the orientation?

Made a bit of progress tonight You can now select mph or kph and choose a logo. All the logo's are in a folder you can add your own to if you wish.
Fixed some errors and improved lots of things (I hope).
Hopefully get something up soon....

finaly, I,ve searching for long time this app for my car audio. thankyou very much dude, you make great work

I like the app, but I'm finding out that once you set the icons I can't reset them unless I delete the folder through a file explorer. I also can't seem to get rid of the music icon no matter what. I want to say the app is pretty cool and I know its in its infancy maybe I'm not using it correctly. Anyways cool app man I'm going to stay on top of it and review it on my YouTube channel at one point.

Dude good concept, but give it the option to control music apps like Spotify or Pandora no only your default music app. Also a little of the music info wouldn't be bad at all. And to make it awesome add Bluetooth OBDII compatible to get the speed right from the car computer instead of relying on the GPS. Sorry I asked for much. Keep up the good work

Installed app and subscribed to thread, this is of interest. I often drive with music playing and a speedometer app running on my phone, so one neat app GUI running for both is nice. Will there be any audio enhancement functionality, or perhaps ability to integrate the audio engine of an app like poweramp, so that the Digital Car app just controls it?

How are y'all doing this, are you connecting to your in-dash via BT, aux cable, or do most folks have a tablet installed in the dash? To me this is the most exciting turn in Androids history. I am so looking forward to more of these types of capabilities. I just don't really see it unless there is a full powered Android head unit. Not sure if a tablet would work so well with 3 amps and 12 speakers, and BT or aux won't cut it since it's another screen that I have to play with while driving unless I am missing something here.

I just want to use it as a combined speedomter and music app whilst driving, but it could progress into a much bigger and better thing later.

I guess this kind of thread has not started yet.
But I do really need the WWE Network app for Android TV (Nexus Player) ASAP, had been bothering them on Twitter for a while.
Although already announced, VLC is a must-have definitely.
And finally I hope that Amazon let aside their pride and make a port Instant Video Prime for Android TV.
Agree or suggest?

Amazon instant video works on LolliRock if you install the non-tablet version of Amazon alongside of the instant video non tablet version 1.0 but it requires mouse and keyboard.
Also would be surprised if VLC couldn't be at least sideloaded, but Kodi works awesomely, so I'd suggest that instead. Added bonus, it's prettier...

A YouTube app that doesn't start stuttering after a while. And one that stops trying to force me to watch suggested videos.

There is a native WWE app for the Amazon Fire TV. If that can be ported over then that would be great!

I don't have a problem watching/playing the videos of past fights, working like a charm.

Look at the above photo and you will find the WWE icon on the LeanBack Launcher above the Kodi icon!
Please follow the instructions at the download link, the WWE app comes in a package.

Retroarch w/ a leanback icon would be great.

1. Popcorn time kinda works with a air mouse.... The movies crash every time but the tv shows play. It would definitely be nice if it was adapted to the tv interface.
2. Any good quality screen recorder would be great.
3. Xbox music... Just because I have a subscription.
4. shomi would be awesome for us Canadians.

Hello,
I have figured out a way to play Amazon Prime Video on our players. I have only tested it using a device that has 5.x installed. That device will also need to be rooted so that you can enable the cast screen option. Then install screen enable: http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193 This will allow all tablet content including games.

Also, i'm new to this but what is the leanback launcher code? Can you provide more information? How can I install it the launcher? Thanks in advance, i'm a noob

You can sideload it but the app in general does not work good to begin with.

At the download link are all the instructions, the app comes in a package, it's best to read the instruction first.
Go the download site look over in the far left column under "ALL POST", go down to "{Nexus TV Player/ADT-1 TV Apps Bank}", scroll down to the photo headline you are looking for, expand it, there you will find the instructions, go here https://plus.google.com/communities/103510820500984874818?partnerid=gplp0 !
