[Q] ✔HELP✔Android got pattern locked & not even asking GOOGLE ACCOUNT RESET ✔HORRIBLE
I thought i should ask this here as i see some people have suffered this and its some android thing..especially latest version of android like kitkat and lollipop(especially)
The phone is HTC One M8 Eye My elderly Relative actually reset her pattern yesterday (to complex one to prevent misuse by some relative kids) but forgot it later
We know the gmail account and password too but ITS INSANE that even after trying so many patterns (>100), its not giving us any option to reset using google account

Its not even giving us any "forgot password?" option . THIS is so HORRIBLE as we seem to be locked out and Data is important (on phone storage) so we dont want to factory reset
(I have read some(very few) instances of people sharing this horror ...but cant find any solution...its very common with LOLLIPOP (is it?)

We have tried pressing buttons etc, restarting, no such option comes.
Further the fact the data network is on on it and gmail mails are synchronising properly means gmail account logging has no problem either.
The phone is not rooted and completely with stock ROM
I have tried ways to delete the pattern.key file but i think they are not working as phone is not rooted and on default stock recovery
I tried AROMA File Manager, etc.Details
Can anyone please help or give some ideas . Thanks in advance

This seems to too common lately..SO many people complaining and losing their data. What a shame that they cant reset it (atleast i cant found anything till now), even when they have google credentials.. Read that even ADM (Android Device manager) cant unlock it

Looks like google spawned up this more S H I T in LOLLIPOP along with their crap heads-up notification banners, etc
Another One BIG REASON people should not run for UPDATES of the latest **** around.... like zombies running for flesh
Shame on u google.

Morons say that the reset option only works upto Android 4.4
https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/3388218?hl=en
So why the hell they spawned this LOLLIPOP crap? so that people dont have any opportunity ever to get access to their device, if they forget the password/pin/pattern once

Phone deleting apps and Google Play Services by itself

So I've never seen this happen before but my phone started to delete random apps. At first they were ones I didn't really need so it didn't bother me but then a lot more went missing and when I went to use Paypal it told me that it couldn't work because Google Play Services wasn't on the phone. I had a (soon to be justified) panic attack/flashback to when my friend and I accidentally deleted Google Play Services by mistake and the ****storm we dealt with for two days straight until we were able to track down the correct odin version of her phone's firmware (she had a rare version of Sprint's S3, the Triband one and it was nigh impossible to track down her correct firmware). Any apps that get "deleted" show up in the app drawer/homescreens as having a generic grayed out picture with an "SD" logo on the bottom as if they were sent to SD...but they aren't in the Applications list in settings so I think it's the OS not understanding they're gone and the links still being stuck there.
Questions to you all:
A) Have any of you experienced this random app deleting? Is it a sign my phone's NAND is going bad?
B) Should I just odin the firmware back on and reroot or is there a way to simply to reinsert the correct version of Google Play Store/Services if one of you would kindly provide them (I'm on QG5, newest for G930T)
Thank you!

Bump, nobody else have this issue?
Not here. The only thing I have seen that is similar is when I restarted in safe mode, so all my user apps were disabled. In this case, are the apps deleted or just disabled?

No they were deleted, it was so weird. Again, I wouldn't really be that concerned if it didn't delete something as important as Google Play Services which limited a lot of functionality. I found some Play Services version to have it kind of work while I was in Ireland but things like Location/GPS and many apps wouldn't work right or not at all. It's a real pain in the ass how reliant so many things are on that one service.
I'm doing a full re-image on it now, just hope this was one time thing :-/

Moved thread please delete this. Ty

Moving thread .... don't believe its a sprint issue
I switched from sprint to T-Mobile. They screwed up and let us keep our old phones and did a discount for the hassle. I figure I don't need 2 S8's so I would just sell it. Welcome to my nightmare.....
So I factory reset the phone to get all my data off, I did this through the settings menu. No issues the phone reset. It was at the beginning new phone screen so I just left it and placed the phone on craigslist.
I get a buyer and we meet at the store. The lady who works at sprint and was going to verify the phone was not stolen starts the phone and asks me for the password..........huh?....
The phone is at a password screen and I have maybe 5 at most that I use various combos of, none of these work. She brings it over to the "techs" there are they say they have never seen this. I then apologize the the man who wanted to buy the phone and proceed home. I do some searching online and find out how to get into certain menus and do resets, and re-flash the stock rom. Even after those it wants a password.
I then think I'll just use find my phone with good and unlock it. Well it is a sprint phone and I have T-Mobile now so it has no connection, and I can't get past the password to get to the wifi settings. So google says it can't find my phone.
I contact Samsung and since it’s been less than a year they say they will help. I send in the phone and they send me it back with the crack on the back of the phone fixed and nothing else. I called and they said they have record of me asking for help with a password problem. I then ask if I can send it back and get that taken care of and they said it would cost 150$ because they fixed the phone......huh?
I really just want this password off the phone. At this point it’s a matter of I am more curious about finding a way to get it off the phone than selling it. I’m also open to all ideas. Taking it apart, flashing something third party on it.
If you need pictures I will get them up shortly. Or a video. At work currently, so I can probably reply in a timely manner. If you need more info please ask and I’ll try and get whatever you need
Thanks in advance

Should I keep using these Chinese phones? (Doogee, BlackView)

I bought 2 Chinese smartphones: One is from a company called "Doogee", and the second is called "BlackView"
The Doogee one came with many weird apps preinstalled, so I installed Malwarebytes, and it detected 2 malwares. Both removed. After a day, Malwarebytes prompted me that a malware app is trying to install itself (one of those I removed!) - So I stopped using this phone. Hopefully did not risk too much of my personal information (passwords, emails, etc).
Meanwhile, the other Chinese phone I ordered has arrived. Knowing about those security issues now, I immediately installed Malwarebytes, and it detected that the Sound Recorder app is a malware, and is actually using data(?):

@TroyGuard I would recommend to search for a custom rom build from source to get rid of that stock spy roms :good:
@TroyGuard
personally I wouldn't use them but as you have bought phones you probably want to.
Though on twitter recently Elliot Alderson (@fs0c131y was asking for such phones to analyse, he'd probably be happy to get one!
So If no custom ROM then you should be able to freeze those apps, system or preinstalled, that are risky or unknown (though they often come back, so freeze normally better). If you read the recent threads you will find links to a number of ways to do this, eg using TWRP, ADB, apps like Debloater etc which may work on those phones
WARNING: be careful freezing system apps, freezing an essential app can make your phone unusable, check online first if in doubt
Change all your passwords after this is done, to be safe.
(though there is still the possibility of a hardware backdoor , but I've not seen any reports of this.)
(Note: you probably won't get automatic OTA updates anymore as the ota updater is often part of the problem, besides you would have to refreeze apps after new install, but might be worth updating manually if it gives you important security patches)

Question how to bye pass organisation know security

Got this brand new A 32 5g phone. when i try to set it up it says that my organisation can control my device with knox cloud security, it does allow only limited apps via the google play store.
Is there any way to disable this and use your own Samsung account to sign and to restore this from an old backup.
many thanks
PS Just reading about Samsung Frp2020 , will this app help me to bypass
After seeing a youtube video, i have tried the Samsung Frp and use addrom, it allows me to restore from an old back up.
but when i go back it again takes me to the Knox page and asks me to enter my work email address and use ADFS seetings.
can some one help me please.
this is a new phone with no passwords setup currently.
I have done this 3 times and when i dont enter any details in the Knox and keep pressing the back up it gives the option to reset the phone and when i reset the phone i am back at square one.
i have just seen that it has intune security embedded into the phone. it activates when i am setting up the phone from scratch and wants me to add wifi to complete the setup

Microsoft Intune to Bypass MFA

then it takes to the device setup methods which states EMM provider (enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider).
here are some pics for you to have a look.
after taking you the organisation sign in page if you dont put the correct credentials and put any other account detials it doesnot accept this and i have the option to restore the device which sets it back to factory reset.
Hey.
Did you ever find a solution to this?
I have pretty much exactly the same problem with a Samsung Tab S6 Lite and have yet to find a solution that works. Used Odin to flash new firmware and made no difference at all. The Microsoft sign in requirement via Knox Cloud Enrolment is still very much there.
All the articles and software I've found online seem only to relate to bypassing FRP (factory reset prevention) for a Google account.

Can anybody explain how someone else's phone number appeared as the owner (admin) of my phone? I could still use it fine and had no notifications or indications anything had been changed or tampered with...
I called the number and somebody answered (I hung up as i didnt think anyone would actually answer) they didn't realise it was me so I guess they didn't know their number was displayed. I've since factory reset and changed all passwords but really at a loss how they could have done that (and as to what they were doing)
its possible that they borrowed your phone for something and needed to sign in but didnt realise what they were doing and accidentally did this.

It's usually my Gmail account not a phone number, nothing suspicious on any google security page it's like they swapped my user info without me noticing. Plus I could still use everything, so strange.

Hi thanks for the reply, no nobody borrowed my phone and logged in. I haven't clicked on any dodgy links in texts or emails nor have I used any unsecured wi fi networks. I'm totally at a loss of the methodology or functionality of how they did this (or how long it was like it for before I noticed)
My phone's not been out of my possession so it must have been done remotely but how could someone else be the owner (admin) of my phone instead and me still be able to use everything as normal without noticing anything? I've been using emails and google services absolutely fine. It's freaking me out to be honest, I don't know if this meant they had access to my entire handset or just google services?
Is this an android issue if its the sign in for the device?
