Hope this helps...

See, I don't flash cf-autoroot. It's not needed...
I had the same issue before,i tried twrp,cf autoroot but then i tried cwm, so i flashed it through odin, also flashed supersu and it was successful. You can try cwm if twrp fails.Oh i do have 915g as well but im pretty sure cwm for you version should work.Goodluck on rooting your device

Do all the steps you did before to root your galaxy s3, but this time without the battery. This happened because the update T-Mobile sent to their customers, made the stock flash recovery override any image flash via Odin if the battery was present. Do that and It will work.

this was the only helpful tip after researching for over 4 hours tytyty :good:
I installed the OTA for 4.1.2 and have not rooted my T-mobile T999 at all. I've watched videos that said it was for this firmware and model, but when I go into recovery mode and try to install the zip file, I get a message saying "E: Signature Verification Failed." SuperSU is on my phone, but when I try to launch it, it says "There is no SU binary installed and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
I've never rooted a phone before, but the videos I watched seemed really easy, but it's not working for me.
Can somebody post how to do it with the most updated G3rootsprint.zip file. Maybe I'm using one that's too old, or maybe since the update is only days old, it's not possible with the processes that are online already.

I'm attempting to root with clockworkmod, but since I can't get that far, it's the android recovery.

Use this guide to root the t999v. I used it a couple months ago and it works fine, and as a bonus it wont trip your flash counter.

I'll have to give it a try when I get to my personal computer.
I tried rooting using ODIN/CF for my model. I checked twice before downloading the file, so I know that it was the correct file. When I tried rooting, the progress bar went around 1/2 of the way, then failed. I tried it again, but the same thing happened. When I tried to get out of download mode, my phone went to another screen that said "ODIN mode", and I couldn't get past that until I flashed a recovery that, thankfully, worked. I was thinking of trying a CWM recovery, but am unsure if the file I have is the correct file.
If anyone could help me with this, I would be ever so grateful.
try using a twrp recovery: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-edge/development/twrp-915fy-915tmo-moment-t3129459 and download "TWRP-3.1.0_for 915T_915W8(can).zip" Thanks to mickey387!

Sorry bud. You need more help than I can type here. I have one nandroid on my phone and another on a usb drive, jic. If you can find neither you may need to flash original rom again.
Either use your computer to put it on your phone ,or use odin.
Good luck.

My phone is stuck on a endless bootloop. I tried reinstalling Magisk 15 and even tried to flash back to 12. Nothing working. Where is the latest firmware from Sprint?

I have the n920p phone but that's DQJ1 I need the DQK1 firmware, it's the latest one.
Update: so I used the firmware you gave me and I used Odin to load it in my Note 5. It worked and all my files are there but now I have to update Android to the latest system update. That's ok since all my files, settings and apps are working. Everything worked even though I had a newer firmware loaded and then I used the old one you gave me to downgrade it.
happened here also on moar rom. thank god i constantly backup everything otherwise i am sure it was a catastrophe for some people.

Can confirm 15.1 fixed bootloop issue. Installed zip in recovery.
I've had my phone rooted with Magisk for months. In these months I've tried many Custom ROMs and have tripped the Knox counter. Yesterday, I stupidly turned off developer options as an app I was downloading said it wouldn't run with them on. Later on, I rebooted my phone, only to get FRP locked due to (I assume) previous Custom ROM flashing.
I tried for about 9 or so hours to sort it out myself with Odin and various guides saying I could flash ADB onto the phone and enable Developer Options from there. I have no idea how to fix it anymore and was wondering if anyone could help. I saw a thread somewhere that solved the issue, however, I can no longer find the thread.
As far as I know, all I can do is go into Download Mode to use Odin. Is it possible to fix my phone or is it completely bricked?
I'll give you one american dollar or 1 billionth of a bitcoin!
Sorry bro! I've always found persistence works best! So don't give it up.

You can fix it, you just need to flash a stock ROM that is either the same as the last stock ROM that was installed on it, or newer/has the same or newer bootloader.
If you try to flash an older one, you'll get an error in odin, because you're trying to downgrade the bootloader.

I just flashed a Stock ROM and it worked! When I'd done it previously, I'd been flashing the wrong ROM so nothing happened
Thanks for the help!

No worries
remember to enable OEM unlock in developer settings before flashing another custom ROM.
