Nexus 6 + Cast + ARUR + Tasker - Android General

Hi all,
I have searched high and low for setting up tasker with my nexus and chromecast for appradio. It has been an absolute nightmare but have managed to patch together a working profile. Here is how I did it.
Add profile -> State -> Net-> BT Connected -> Name & Address press magnifying glass and select your already paired app radio
New Task -> Name whatever you want.
1. App -> Launch App (ARUnchained Reloaded)
2. Code -> Run Shell -> input tap 1972 561 (this taps start in arur)
3. Net -> Wifi Off
4. Net -> Wifi Tether On
5. Task -> wait 10 seconds
6. App -> Launch App (Chromecast)
7. Task -> wait 2 seconds
8. Code -> Run Shell -> input tap 127 195 (Chromecast menu button)
9. Task -> wait 2 seconds
10. Code -> Run Shell -> input tap 409 1040 (Cast screen button)
11. Task -> wait 5 seconds
12. Code -> Run Shell -> input tap 822 880 (taps chromecast in your car)
13. task -> wait 2 seconds
14. Code -> Run Shell -> input tap 2484 719 (taps home button)
The only way I could kill all the apps when I leave the car is by using a dummy app as the trigger to close arur, chromecast, turn tether off etc.
If the above profile could be improved on I would love to hear them. Next up I am going to use NFC in car to really tighten this all up as I think it could be a lot faster.
Cheers!

Hi guys, I have added a video on youtube of it in action but cannot post it here as I haven't posted 10 times. If anyone wants the link please pm me.

cycle through brightness levels

Hi eveybody.
i'm looking for a little piece of software which i can use to cycle through the different brightness levels. Just as i can do it with the htc home plugin.
but this plugin is too big for me. i'd love to put it into wisbars system tray or make have it in any other home plugin.
i tried the search but didn't find anything.
hopefully i just tried the wrong terms for my search and you can tell me lots of applications
thanks...
i've tried the search on this many times. would love to get that HTC Home plugin brightness icon mapped to a hardware button. no luck yet.
what a shame...
anybody else? any ideas?
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379270
thanks!
will try....
hm... seems i'm too stupid to do it right. i don't know how i need to configure and which program i should start to cycle.
can you help m with this?
MVbklight for polaris:
- install MVbklight.1.4.1.cab
- unzip and copy to program folder (\Program Files\MalVal\MVBklight\)
- i have problems with today plugin, then delete MVBklight.dll after disable it in Settings>Today
- run Cfg.exe (MVBklCfg from Programs)
- on the second tab, first item language (set MUI), next OK
- run Cfg again
- on the first tab set "Settings for" to Manual, OK
- run Cfg again
- set "Device type" to WM5/WM6
- set "Battery DeviceIoControl code" to 0x7
- set "Power DeviceIoControl code" to 0x8
- Apply and OK
Now for cycle backlight run (from program folder):
Cmd.exe 0 2 5 7 10
or try Bklight_cycle.lnk
(cycle through 2 5 7 10, for other cycle try different numbers between 0-10)
SPB Mobile Shell 2 has what you're looking for: When the mobile shell comes up there are three screens. On mine, the brightness icon, a yellow light bulb with a dashed line below it, is in the very top left of the center screen, the one with all the program and setting icons, and allows you to cycle thru brightness levels while you're using it. I love it. I couldn't find the icon anywhere else in the shell, tho... Good luck.
Try to find ComManagerPlus developed by me
This programm can do this thing and many more. Freeware. Link later.

I copied the .lnk file to the Start Menu -> Programs folder and I mapped it to a hardware button. Works like a champ.

i must say that it worked like a champ (see my previous post) but I found my device a bit sluggish so I ended up removing MVBklight. How's CommManagerPlus performance wise?

That was (almost!) exactly what I was looking for, now mapped to the pointless (for me) Orbit's Windows button.
I did change a couple of things so it mimics the way the button in the HTC Home plugin works - changed STEP to 3, and MAX to 11 (just like Spinal Tap!)
Cheers.

A few windows 6.1. mods

Hello!
Do you happen to know how to:
a)put the gsm indicator on the today screen (VERY preferably on the HTC today, e.g. below the alarm clock on the right side or horizontally near the operator name - not to waste space)
b)block GPRS: just to tell the phone to never ever try to connect to it. At the moment e.g. while pressing the weather button, it starts connecting - quite annoying, especially if pressed by chance
c)create folders in programs menu (as e.g. the "games" folder) and then copy shortcuts into it
d)in the menu start - change from 7 shortcuts and 5 recent programs into 12 shortcuts and 0 recently opened programs.
Thank you for help!
Best regards,
Theriel
c) Go under "\Windows" direcotry and then under "\Start menu"
that's the direcotry tree
I meant programs menu - the one you get into by clicking start->programs. .
Any ideas about this as well as the other questions ?
b) there are several ways to kill all data connections. you can use something like the Advanced Config Tool and disable the data connection setup on the phone. Or you can use a tool like MoDaCo's NoData tool. Search the forums you will find your answer.
c) It is where "wonderiuy" said it is. For the icons in Programs you need to go one level deeper in the start menu. My Device -> Windows -> Start Menu -> Programs. There you will find links to all the icons when you go to Start Programs.
Thanks a lot! I have also a small question: is there any reason for which I shouldn't enable all the power managements that there are in Advanced Config Tool?
I would be still grateful for answering a) and d) :].
d) Disable large start menu
Start -> Settings -> Large start menu -> disable (or rather not enable) it

Do this,
1. Click the weather tab and click the location name at the top. You will get into ‘Select City’ window.
2. Tap the ‘Menu’ at the bottom right of the screen and choose ‘Weather Options…’ from the pop-up list.
3. Uncheck ‘Download weather data automatically*’
b) Easy solution: Go to Settings -> Connections -> Connections -> Advanced -> Manage Networks -> and choose "Company Network" for "Programs with automatic internet connectivity use ....". Name of options may vary, because I use German ROM. Translation done by brain.exe on the fly
Thanks a lot mates! So, there is no way to solve my problem "d)" ?
see post #6 in your own thread (above). Does that not do what you asked?
That has nothing to do with choosing the programs you want to have listed in the menu start. Large menu is completely different thing which, by the way, I have disabled since the very beginning.

Use ps3 controller without root on tablet and no dock or cords

I would like to say that I take no credit for any of this except typing out these directions.
These are instructions to use a controller with at least the two emulators I have tested this on which are supergnes and mupen64 plus ae.
Hardware you will need :
Computer with usb connection
Blue tooth controller ( I'm using ps3 controller)
Android phone ( rooted) I'm using a inspire 4G with ics rom.
Android tablet ( does not have to be rooted) I'm using a asus infinity stock with jb.
I recommend buying the programs if for nothing else but to show support
Software you will need :
An2an by locnet ( I have paid version not sure if it makes a difference)
Sixaxis by dancing pixel studios ( have paid version not sure if it makes a difference)
Sixaxis by dancing pixel studios for pc ( link is inside of the app description in the market)
Emulator that accepts keyboard input.
1) download An2an and Sixaxis from market and install on phone
2) download An2an and install on tablet
3) download Sixaxis to computer from Internet and install.
4) turn on wifi and blue tooth on tablet and phone.
A) access Sixaxis on phone
* step one : tap "gamepad settings"
> tap "enable gamepad " (uncheck box)
> tap " keyboard emulation"
> tap " default input method " and set to android keyboard ( or keyboard of your choice)
> tap " bypass IME ", ( uncheck box)
* step three : start Sixaxis
B) access An2an on phone
* step one : tap menu and access settings
> tap " connection mode ", tap wifi
> tap " text input mode ", ( uncheck box)
C) access An2an on tablet
* step one : tap # 4 optional settings
> tap " connection mode ", tap wifi
> tap " remote address 1 " enter wifi address of phone ( setting -- > about phone - - > status., on phone)
> tap #2 and select An2an receiver
D) have An2an accessed on tablet and phone.
* step one : tap menu on phone and "start transmit"
* step two : tap menu on tablet and tap" setup receiver"
* step three : on tablet tap #3 and tap " connect "
* step four: on phone tap menu and tap "input method" select Sixaxis
Note : phone must be on An2an main screen while playing not sure how it will effect battery life (probably will drain quite a bit) . I recommend setting phone screen to stay on while charging and plug it in.
Now just start game and play
This is my first intrusion manual so be nice if you have any questions feel free to ask but I can't promise I will have any answers.
Last
To set up Sixaxis
* step one : download Sixaxis controller bt changer from Internet and install. The link is in the app description on the market.
* step two : connect controller to pc and start Sixaxis program. Change code to your phones bt code. The bt code is found in settings - - > about phone - - > status remember bt must be on
Unplug and it's set.
Thank you for reading.

[TASKER] Lollipop Battery Saver Homescreen Toggle - No plug-ins

Hello, today I installed Tasker as I saw that you can do a plenty of things, as long as you have imagination. As you know, lollipop has a built-in battery saver and I wanted to have a toggle for this option without having to install extra applications or plug-ins, but you have to be rooted.
For those who haven't Tasker, they can buy it from here.
For those who have it installed, let's create a task and a variable first (make sure you have unchecked the Beginner Mode in Preferences).
1) In tasks tap + button and name it as you want
2) Then tap + button again to create an action
3) Select Variables -> Variables Add -> %LPOWER with value 0 (you might have to press a button that looks like a shuffle button and then insert 0)
4) Tap + then Task -> If and enter %LPOWER Maths:equals 0
5) Tap + then Code -> Run Shell and enter "settings put global low_power 1 and check use root
6) Tap + then Variables -> Variables Set -> %LPOWER with value 1
7) Tap + then Task -> Else
8) Tap + then Code -> Run Shell and enter "settings put global low_power 0 and check use root
9) Tap + then Variables -> Variables Set -> %LPOWER with value 0
10) Tap + then Task -> End If
In the end, you can choose an icon for the task and add it as a widget on your homescreen
Attention: do not try to use it will charging. It won't work as battery saver works only while discharging

unable to reliably verify your location - can't watch video with wwe network app

Hello,
I always get the error code "unable to reliably verify your location" on the wwe network app when I try to watch a video. With my Galaxy S3 (WWE App), Amazon Fire TV Stick (WWE App) and with Internet Explorer (website) on Windows 10 everything works fine.
I have already contacted Samsung and WWE. WWE says I should talk with the phone manufacturer and Samsung says I should talk to the app developer.
For Android prior version 6 WWE sent me the following solution:
Please follow the steps below for Android Troubleshooting:
Force Stop and Restart
1. Navigate to your home screen.
2. Tap on the Menu key.
3. Tap on Settings
4. Tap on Applications
5. Tap on Manage Applications
6. Tap on the application to close.
7. Tap on Force stop
8. Tap the Home key to return to your home screen.
9. Restart the device.
Enable Location Settings
1. Tap on device Settings icon
2. Tap on Location access
3. Make sure all location services are checked or enabled
4. Tap the Back icon
5. Tap on Developer Options
6. If Developer Options is not visible, do the following to enable
7. Tap on About phone or About tablet
8. Tap on Build Number seven times to unlock 9. Developer Options
10. Tap the Back key
11. Tap on Developer Options
12. Make sure the toggle in the upper right is set to On
13. Make sure the option to Allow mock locations is unchecked
14. Tap the Back icon
15. Tap on Apps
16. Tap on the WWE App application
17. Tap on Force stop
18. Relaunch App and Try to Watch
However this doesn't function with Android 6.0.1 and the S7 / S7 edge because number "13. Make sure the option to Allow mock locations is unchecked" isn't available anymore on the S7.
Has anyone found a solution?
Thank you very much
