Hey guys, from what i've been reading it seems that the lockscreen kills the battery, what i would like to know is how to shut this off, and other things i can do to improve my battery life. Right now im using the Thunder and Lightning Rom Build 1. Thanks in Advance!
Menu > Settings > Security > Change Screen Lock > {Enter pattern/pin/password} > None
No Lock from the market works great. You can even wake your phone with the volume rocker.
But wouldn't an app running drain just as much battery?
Which lock screen are you talking about? The default one that makes you pull down to unlock all the time, whether you have a pin or not? How is it draining battery?
What I find annoying is that even if I set a pin code on my phone, I first have to go through that initial Sense lock screen pulldown to bring up the pin entry. Only 'droid phone I have that acts like that.
I dont think its draining battery
i removed HtcLockScreen.apk and i'm using the stock android lock screen now. I see no difference in battery consumption.
from what I understand people are seeing the battery drain when using the pattern/pin/etc. unlocks.

I use the pattern and my battery life is pretty good, matches up with my Droid X as far as I'm concerned. Usually 50%+ when I go to bed at midnight and I pull it off the charger around 8AM.
Noob here! I'm using QuikWiz 1.0.3, which is the first rom I've used that let me disable the lockscreen. My question is, does disabling the lockscreen cause the phone to use just as much power as if the lockscreen were NOT disabled? Do both make the phone enter the same low-power state or is the phone slightly more awake when the lockscreen is disabled? I'm obviously asking this because I'm concerned about battery life.
Thanks!

The lock screen should not have an effect on the power. Not from previous Experiances anyway.

I have a BlockBeforeSleep Partial Wakelock, and I have searched for 2 days trying to figure out how to disable, it is killing battery life because it starts after reboot the first time i lock the screen and won't stop. I have attached screenshot of betterbatterystats. Does anyone know how to disable it or what causes it? Thanks.
So I have an app where when I press the home button of the phone, it drains battery in the background even without being used or even if the phone is locked. It doesn't cause wake locks, instead it seems to be accessing the GPS constantly in the background. Any ideas where I would look for the issue of the app to fix it?
Recently, it's quite annoying that my siblings kept disabling my phone and causing it to be locked for a long time, is there any way to change it? I would still like to keep the screen lock on though.
