Hello everybody,
I have a moto x (1st gen) and I did a full unrooting and flashed back to stock to be able to update to lollipop. While flashing to stock, I took out my sim card to avoid loosing all my contacts (I know I made a big mistake!), and after that, even with my sim card inside, it keeps telling me no sim. Is there anyway to fix this problem?
I already flashed back to stock 4.4.4 with the sim card inside, and it also said no sim. I updated again to lollipop and same thing. I would be grateful for help with this.
Thanks.

I've tried that several times and it has been to no avail. I don't know what happened this time I did a full stock flash, but right now, it is showing INVALID CARD - EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY. I've changed sim cards and reinserted the sim several times, but... same old INVALID CARD shows up.

Hello All,
Recently I have updated my one x on 4.2.2 with the help of this http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-x-att/news/ and after that my phone is not picking singal of my sim before the update it was working ok. I tried 2 different other network sims and they worked but my sim is not working I had touched my tongue on the golden area of the sim and then re-insert the sim and it pick the signal but they are gone in 10 mins. Can anybody tell me how can I fix this problem ? Is this is the problem of the firmwear update ? can anybody tell me how can I downgrade my phone back to 4.1 ?
Thanks in advance
Imran
You can't downgrade to an earlier Android version unless you unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery, get s-off, and flash a custom ROM or run an earlier RUU. I think this is a bit extreme though because you're not experiencing a software issue, you're experiencing a physical problem with your SIM card or SIM card tray. You can try sticking a piece of tape (of two) to the back side of the SIM card, this will force the contacts together a bit better. That will probably fix your problem.

Hey
i got a problem i could not solve for a month .. every time the phone is turned on for 12 hours or so, it stops identifying the sim card and starts acting like there's no sim inserted in. in other words, the network indicator (the one on the top of the screen) gives me a block sign.
I figured a way to solve this issue by taking the sim card out, then put it back again.
Is there a permanent solution for such an issue ?
My device informations:
OS: 4.4.2
Moto G (XT-1032)
Rooted
Stock ROM
Recovery: Advance philiz.

Are you sure the SIM works fine?
Did you cut it yourself?
You should try with a different sim and see if you experience the issue again

i too am having this same problem!
i first updated my device to the latest android version and noticed this problem.
so i tried flashing back to stock rom by following the guide available on the forums and checked again...but to no avail.
also, i tried with at&t and t-mobile sims, both of which work on my nexus 5 but are not recognized on my moto g.
my moto g is the global version btw (xt1032).
anyone else facing this issue? or is this a hardware problem?
Hello, i recently thought about flashing a rom on my phone, i did all the basic stuff unlock boot loader, root etc but when i put the file on my device i got stuck in a bootloop, so i panicked a little and went on to google to find a STOCK ROM for the moto g. I found one and flashed that instead, it did infact save my device and i was so happy at the point, but then i noticed that at the top on my task bar it said i had no signal on BOTH Sdcards when infact this phone only has 1!? (my o2 simcard was in at the time) Anyway i went into setting and it had above he wifi setting "Dual SIM settings" which i have never even seen before. Anyway i clikced on that and it says 'SIM1 Disabled' and below it says 'SIM2 Disabled' Also my Mobile DATA has vanished to. All this worked before i went and screwed up my device. Im kind of in a panic and really dont want to loose this phone :crying: :crying: Please can anyone help get me back my signal and data, other then that everything else is working normal.

You have flashed a single sim variant of the stock ROM on your device, find the dual sim version for your phone here: http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=14
Also, of course your data has gone as your phone has undergone a reset and firmware flash
All of them are not for 4.4.4 or does that not matter?

Absolutely. From experience, you must flash the dual sim variant. Unfortunately, there is 4.4.4 available, but only for the States. You might PM me the OTA update package and I'll be able to help.

A little help on getting telephony back, please! "No SIM card detected" ("SOLVED")
Hi all !
I've got a Mate 7 09 that was on B121, I flashed stock B127 from Huawei's USA site to get rid of my operators rom, and it was fine, after that I flashed stock B137 KK, B308 LP and B317 LP.
But after flashing B137 I didn't use my device for callings nor anything as a phone, my SIM card was in another device. I was just trying LP so I didn't noticed it had no telephony signal because it can not read/detect the SIM card. Once I put in my SIM card the device couldn't detect it. It says "No SIM detected" No SIM card is detected. I've tried several ones.
What can be wrong? I've tried factory reset, rolling back to KK to B127 which worked the first time, factory reset again, and it's still the same. "No SIM card detected"
What can be so wrong?
Now I got a Mate 7 from a friend and it's in the same state as mine originally was. So I had the idea to get TWR on both, make a backup of the working device and flash it into mine.
I'm in that process.
What do you think is causing this problem? Modem drivers? Baseband? (Right now both have the same baseband number)
Anything to do with customization packs? I've seen several in a system folder called "HW"
I wish you and all you guys here could help me. Thank you in advance!
Any help or advice is welcomed!

check on settings/about phone: if bandbase is "unknown" then problem is not related with sim card, but modem is missing. That happened with me many times with samsung note 2 when i flashed the wrong rom

The modem is not missing, the EFS folder may be corrupted.

It was the SIM card reader. It's damaged.

Thank you guys for your kind help.
It looks like after all I could restore the baseband number and other customization from my original operator (I did it with this little steps, and getting the /cust contents from a Mate 7 from a local friend), but it's still not working.
So I checked the SIM card reader with a flashlight and it seems to be damaged, I can't see all of the 6 golden terminals/pins, whereas in my friend's Mate 7 they are easy to spot.
That must be the problem, there's no other possible explanation.
I'll order a SIM card reader replacement from Ebay to fix this problem.
Thank you all! I've learned a lot in the process. Ha Be very careful when you insert and extract your SIM card!

My phone isn't detecting the sim card, but is usually fixed by a factory reset? Is there a fix for this so I don't have to reset my phone every time?
Try another sim first. Sometimes they go bad.
Hello,
I have the same problem with my Idol 3 (Dual Sim) Both sim card does not work. I also tryed a factory reset, but it does not solve the problem.

Try a new sim. Or try a friend's sim.
Has it been exposed to water, dropped, custom rom flashed?

I am sorry to hear that. It seems as though it may be defective. You may need to have it replaced.
I would try a Mobile Upgrade Q first.
Do you see an IMEI under Settings > About Phone > Status?
