I've noticed that Android 5.0 allows to change many system settings (enable/disable WiFi/BlueTooth/Autorotate/etc) on its Lock Screen without entering any password.
I hate this liberty.
Does anyone have any idea how to disable this feature?
I cannot find anything in settings.

I too cannot believe this was left as a feature... I was hoping that would be fixed in the final version.
Bump.
This is actually a security issue.

I agree but there's nothing in android. 3rd party lock screen is the only way.
a fix for this would be good, as anyone can just pick up your phone and change any of the quick settings without unlocking it.
So you would not be able to track the phone if it got nicked and someone just stuck it in airplane mode!

does it matter if airplane mode is in quick settings or the main setting? if they want to steal your phone and put it into airplane mode, they will do it regardless if its in quick settings or the main settings. its stuff that you yourself use often that will appear in quick settings. i personally think its a great feature.

But they should not be able to do it while the phone is locked. At very least we should have the option of what should be accessible without unlocking the phone.

even if they were not in the quick settings, you can still pull down the notification bar while in the lockscreen, and go into the main settings. so, everything there is available to any thief.

If i do that it prompts to unlock the phone
Heck, I'm not even worried about the security situation with this, I just want to disable it because I think it is extremely poorly executed!
It offers nothing that power toggles doesn't, and is not even configurable for what options are present. I never use auto-rotate, cast screen, invert colors, etc, and yet, those options are available instantly!

They can also just remove the sim card or turn it off.
What I am looking for, is for the only possible thing you can do, while the phone is locked, is enter the password. Is there a way to set that up? Not be able to toggle any settings at all or remove the quick settings(I am ok with the emergency calling and camera widget, since you can't access the pictures on the phone until entering the password). I know they could still remove the sim or power off the phone but at least it might buy some more time if your phone gets stolen for you to track it or snap a pic of the thief. It would be nice if you could also disable the power menu and volume buttons while on the lock screen.
For now, until other solution is found or developed, you can go to notification settings and in 'When device is locked' change the setting to 'Hide sensitive notification content'. This disables access to quick settings from the lock screen but also hides titles of notifications, so you will see the notifications for emails, texts etc., but their content will be hidden.
This doesn't work. Well, if you have root and xposed you can install "Advanced Power Menu" to control the power menu on lockscreen etc and with GravityBox you can control the items on the quick settings. But I still couldn't figure out a way to totally disable it on the lockscreen.
As I remember the "X posed" Module "Notification Mod" could do exactly this. Problem is: It seems that development is discontinued and the stable ver1.2 doesn't (on my lollipop custom rom) work on 5.x

I am seeing this in my new Samsung S7 edge... with finger print and password lock.... it is not there on S5 with finger print and password lock... its a silly feature... why would they turn it on ? My son just put my phone in airplane mode accidentaly.... and I kept wondering why no messages and calls for the whole weekend.... hate to think what it would be like if it happened to someone who was say, on a on-call emergency personnel or something like that.... no one would be able to reach out to them.... I guess now have to keep checking my phone every hour.... hahahaha... or maybe go back to using my S5.. if someone has a solution to this pls share... appreciate it.
No way to disable access to quiick settings on lock screen on unrooted Android M....
Try the Market anyway,
One solution for me on Android 6.01 was to disable WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, Mobile Data from Quick Settings using Systen UI Tuner in Settings then downloaded Settings Extended app at the Market and moved all mentioned in SE's Notification Shortcut. Don't forget to enable "HIDE LOCK SCREEN NOTIFICATION" in Preferences which is the objective of all this anyway. So don't forget to click this.
You can even disable everything in Quick Settings and instead put them all in SE Notification as Shortcuts. What's great about SE is that its Notification gets the icon color/shade/background color/color when toggled etc. perfectly in Android 6. Exactly the same. It looks like its really part of the Notification Screen except that there's that horizontal gap that separates the notifications and makes the screen fiddle faddle.
Try it anyway. It might be your only hope against lock screen vulnerability in unrooted Android 6.0 phones.

I have the same problem with my S7. Its weird that you cant change the wifi or bluetooth without unlocking the phone but when you select mobile data or airplane mode you can turn that off from the lockscreen so when your phone gets stolen, the thief can so easy turn that off that there is no way to trace your phone. Why do they even call this a smart phone while its so dumb?

I must apologise first, I’m not a nerdy-head about android, but I was thinking about my new phone (upgraded to A7) and your question is one that I sought out for answers.
In Nougat, I logged in as Guest and used a pin for the user so that a ‘guest’ can’t access the Guest account without my permission.
Then comes you’re question.
You can remove all the worrisome quick start icons from your quick settings (probably leave flashlight). Then use a 3rd party app (Notification Toggle is mine) which isn’t available to a user from a protected login.
As I’ve never had a lollypop viable phone I’m afraid another user might need to help you with a more detailed method for A5.
Hope it helps somewhat. As an old 8080 machine code programmer, it was always about solving problems and then working the bugs out. I'm not even sure how to post on these - socially thingy’s.
This issue it's still there in Nougat, so before it is passed on to Android O, we have to POPULARIZE this issue so they(Android developers) know how big of a pain in the ass it is. I'm posting the complaints to every forum, magazine, fan page, etc. When it's on the social media, they have to do something. This issue has survived because people don't want their friends to know about it, coz it's partly embarrassing...
When I try to turn on Accessibility for those apps, I get a pop-up with options to cancel or turn on. CANCEL will cancel, but tapping "TURN ON" does nothing. If it's not going to allow me to turn it on, it should at least give me a message. Any idea what's going on?

Have you done any sort of debloating and/or are rooted and disabled a lot of stuff? There are a couple of things that will prevent turning on Accessibility for apps if they are disabled. They are UniversalSwitch.apk and SamsungTTS.apk.
I mention it because I've had this issue in the past.
So how do you turn these back on? I'm pretty sure it's UniversalSwitch that's preventing it. Mine doesn't say its disabled though.
I uninstalled Lux and that fixed all of my accessibility issues and helped me add a credit card to google wallet. Hope this helps

Hey, OP here. I just had to go into Lux advanced setting to turn it off. Then I could change the Accessibility settings and go turn Lux back on.
Hello,
I am facing the exact same issue but I have never heard of LUX before.
I am not using it so it must be something else but I can't figure it out. Do you have any other suggestions?
Could help me saving a lot of battery I guess

If you have any sort of screen filter turned on or anything is overlapping the screen, you need to turn it off momentarily. Android secuirty policy prevents you from clicking that while an app is hanging over the screen for a good reason.
Google is pretty persistent in wanting to improve on my Location accuracy when I turn on the GPS, and doesn't take "never" for an answer to the question to record "anonymous" location data. Annoying, very annoying, NO WANT ?
Is there a way of shutting Google up forever?
+1 also wanna know how this notification can be disabled. is there a service that can be blocked or something?
this is so stupidly, angreringly, frustratingly upsetting. there should be a box that says "disagree forever". they obviously have their own interests in mind because this isn't an oversight. sounds like a conspiracy? then do what I did:
1. agree to high accuracy mode
2. go into setting and change it to "gps" only
3. disable location
4. enable location
5. watch as you're forced back into "high accuracy" mode even though you've taken the steps to manually change to "gps only"
this is fucking stupid and it shows that it's for google's benefit, not mine.
Wifi auto connecting even when on mobile data
sorry for posting here but i have recently had problem with my OPO. I have my home wifi as a network as my remebered network but the problem is that the phone auto on wifi even when i have mobile data turned on. it tries to connect to a open wifi network even when i dont want tp
easily solved by turning wifi off
as an update, i realize now why every time you turn on GPS, this message appears. the reason is that when you first turn on GPS, IT IMMEDIATELY TURNS ITSELF TO "high accuracy" mode! and every time you turn to this mode, it prompts you to agree.
IF THEY JUST MADE IT FUCKING STAY AT THE SETTING YOU SELECT, THIS WOUDLN'T BE A PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT OBVIOUSLY, THEY'RE DOING THIS ON PURPOSE FOR THEIR PURPOSES! IT DOESN'T NEED TO BE FIXED, IT NEEDS TO NOT BE INTENTIONALLY SET THIS WAY!

there's an xposed module that automatically disables the dialog and changes your setting back to GPS only:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/org.brainkiller.xposed.denylocationconsent
I was seeking and suggesting Mohammad to choose both options - yes or no.
Finally found this module but it doesn't work on my phone.
Seems like giving folk choice to choose permanently this option is not desired by someone up there ...
just in case someone will looking for option how to disagree again after you click once on agree
on my Lollipop (HTC one M7) with google play service 9.6.83
to disable improve location accuracy:
Settings > Apps > Google Play services
click on [Manage space]
and then click on [Clear all data]
be aware that it will clear your google play services settings of course...
also it will start to ask you again if you want to help google to collect anonymous data, but it will turn on location in Device Only mode and then you can just ignore that question about disagree / agree and go back to your application / home screen without answering. Or you can use that Xposed module Deny Location Consent to disagree always

Was there a solution to this infuriating "Improve location accuracy?" popup that doesn't require Xposed?
I'm using a custom Oreo ROM on my Moto G4 Plus and started using e-Robot to switch on/off my GPS with screen on/off, but everytime I switch the screen on, I get this annoying popup. I do NOT want WiFi used to "improve location accuracy"! it's GPS or nothing!
I used Magisk on Oreo but can't use Xposed as it causes issues with the custom ROM.

But anyways now I have xposed on my OnePlus 5t running Android 8.1 so if you had a working module that you know you can try.

I've had this problem on my LG v20 driving me nuts for the last month or so ever since it updated to Oreo it is a stock h910 unlocked.
But here's what I just did that appears to be working I went into settings applications and disabled Google Play Store and the services application. I then find Gmail doesn't work Hangouts doesn't work so I reabled the service but I have yet to enable the Play Store and I have yet to have gotten the pop up.
I realized that every time I turn on my phone WiFi - GPS turns on itself too.
Could never avoid it whatever I tried, pls advise?
Whenever I manually turn it off - it turns on again by itself.

In a samsung forum it has been the wifi setting.
Maybe it could be the same here: setting/network&internet/wi-fi/wi-fi preference/turn on wifi automatically (switch it off).
So you could have a look in your wifi settings- should be similar - more or less.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I got probably misunderstood - it is not the WiFi that turns on itself, but it is phone's GPS that does automatically ON when I activate my WiFi.
And there is no such setting for GPS (auto on) in my settings.
So my problem is still pending solution.
It could be an app or a system proccess that relates my GPS with my WiFi, just no idea how to pinpoint the bastardo.
I just bought the mentioned phone and I'm experiencing some weird problems on it. For example, I disabled most of the google apps by going to the App menu > Edit and disabled them by pressing the "minus" on the icon. Now if I want to re-enable them in Settings > Applications by going to the Disabled Apps section, pressing Enable and it gives me the option to DISABLE it again? WTF? Seems like I can't enable any app I disabled now..
The second thing is, it's more of a question really.. If I long press the home button, it only makes a short vibration and does nothing at all, is that normal or should something pop-up?
I mean really!? Ok, when you've pressed the enable toogle and the toggle becomes "disable" it means the app is already enabled and it gives you the option to disable it again.
Long press of the home button brings you to google now app, you must have disabled it.

Ohh I get it now, if you've disabled it and the app is already updated, and you're trying to enable it again. Just click the pop up to disable it again, it just wants you to uninstall the updates and it reverts back to the apps factory version, and press the enable toggle again, the app will be enabled. You just have to reupdate the app again. In the touchwiz home you can directly disable an app but in the applications manager when you try to disable apps you have to uninstall the updates. Since disabling through the home launcher is just a shortcut.
Just touchwiz things.

So far it's only a confirmed suspicion, but it's already happened to several people including myself. Accessing the hidden menu may break the knock on feature, even without doing any modification in it.
Possible Solutions:
-Hard Reset (100% working)
-Deleting Finger Prints (I've only seen this working on 1 person in another thread)
Please report if this has happened to you and if you've done something else to solve the issue. Thanks!
I go in the hidden menu a couple times a day to change RAT selection and have only had one issue. So I wouldn't say it's a 100% the hidden menu

Nope, doesn't break it. Been in the hidden menu to access Engineering Mode a bunch of times already and knock-on works fine.
Went in there to unlock the APN fields. Knock-on works fine.

Guys, it only breaks, as I stated in another thread, if you open the IMS Settings (which causes a crash) in the hidden settings menu. It is 100% reproducible, but *ONLY* that setting causes the issue.

@baymon - Funny how everyone notices this until you post a PSA about it then everyone has to try to rebuke it.
If it "breaks" (turns knock on, off) you can use the anycut type app from the play store and make a shortcut to the hidden menu knock on option to toggle it back on or off if you so chose (I turned mine off so it would stop turning on in my pocket).

Obviously we need more data on this issue, there could be other variables in play as well but that's why we're raising the awareness of the knock on issue.

I'm anxiously awaiting everyone now saying their knock on is broken ?
Didnt break mine! Thanks for the info to get into hidden menu though
nope mine still works but i do have issues with the screen in calls but thats it. but but was that way when i got it.
i think your hidden menu theory is good but my knock doesnt work but it stopped after i did a rest because the apn got messed up and it wouldnt let me add a new one. so i found this out this problem seams random as hell and if i turn knock pattern on to unlock the phone the knock works to turn the screen on but not off. i also noticed my second screen doesnt have the flash light on it when off anymore. so i will be doing a reset tomorrow unless anyone knows how to get the secound screen apps back when the screen is off. i think those apps are related to the tap on
It did break mine. Went to menu and hit apn unlock. No crash or anything. I noticed it not working immediatly. Knock code does still work.
I had the issue also, then did a reset. But I want to add to the issue that it didn't only effect knock on, but the touchscreen didn't register anything altogether when screen off. Meaning, the second screen can swipe when screen off to show the quick toggles, it did not work during that time.

mines the same no quick toggles
Mines the same no quick toggles but i found the answer with out rest on another post. i figured it out that its just something crashing the hidden menu doesnt matter what even force closing causes this problem. which is what i did seeing that the first time i used it nothing happened but the second time when the problem happened i cleared all apps and it stopped working. i'm guessing they disable it if something crashes it.
the knock on actually just gets turned off. Here's the quote for the answer make sure both knock on settings are on and it works instantly so no reboot needed.
