[Completed] [Q] Don't really know where to go from here - XDA Assist

Alright, this is a long story.
I own an LGMS500 from MetroPCS (or the LD500 Tmobile version).
A year back I rooted the phone, but a couple of months ago it started to act up Giving me the message "unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped." at first a restart would fix it but a few days after it got to the point where I couldn't use it. So I set out to fix it.
I knew I needed to flash it back to stock ROM since a factory reset and a hard factory reset didn't do anything. But for some reason I decided that flashing a custom ROM was a better Idea. I ended up flashing the xperia ROM and it soft bricked it ( It turned on and booted but wouldn't let me past a black screen, yet I could lower the status bar).
Then I tried to flash the stock ROM or the "MS50010e_03.zip" to load with KDZ. from:
http://androidforums.com/threads/metropcs-unbrick-kdz-for-metropcs-updated-11-13-2013.788365/
But every time I tried it it came back with a parameter error, I changed many things with no avail, Then I figured that since the phone had a tmobile version I flashed the tmobile stock ROM onto the phone and it worked, even let me use data. But after a few days it stopped letting me use data, with a "Service Disabled message on the status bar where it should've shown the mobile carrier. When I went to check my phones mobile data status I noticed that My IMEI # was unknown.
After some research I came to the conclusion that something was wrong with my EFS folder since that's where all that information resides.
At the moment the phone restarts after about 3 minutes of usage, I should also mention that I rooted the phone after the tmobile stock ROM install because of what this thread suggested I should do.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/guide-recover-imei-9-steps-t1264021
Basically I need to know if my conclusions are correct and what kind of steps I should take to recover the phone if possible.
A

FIXED it
I just loaded the MS50012b_00.kdz from:
android creations on the weebly site (sorry I can't post links yet)
This is the only image that worked the first time. After that my phone worked normally, accessed the mobile network correctly and the crashing stopped.
I even installed the xperia ROM that is on that page. Everything is running smoothly now.

[Completed] Formatting Samsung S3 Problem

Hey, so basically I'm in a situation where I have no idea what to do.
I recently just got a new phone, and am going to give my Samsung Galaxy S3, SGH-T999V model - from Wind Mobile to my Dad. Basically, when I first got the phone - a couple months after, I decided to try Rooting it, and I did, successfully. Since I didn't really know what to do with my rooted phone, I decided to unroot it - then tried rooting it again some months later, but it didn't work successfully. Basically my phone wasn't rooted, but I had the "Team-Win" recovery on it.
I wanted to bring my phone back to it's original state - and have the stock recovery on it. After some Googling, my solution seemed to be to flash the stock rom for the SGH-T999V model onto my phone using Odin. And I did that - and it worked successfully. But I still couldn't check for OTA updates or anything, it said my phone had still been modified in an unauthorized way.
Now that I need to give the phone to my Dad, I have to format the device and erase everything. This is where my problem starts. When I try to format it (using the Stock recovery), I see a bunch of error messages, with the Android logo falling down in a kind of dead way. I reboot my device, and nothing changes.
It still has all my data, and everything on it.
Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this (I'm relatively new to the forum), and if my problem doesn't make much sense - I've tried being as detailed as possible. Could anyone help?
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Flashing the stock firmware should show you to get ota's. This should have everything you need,http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/samsung-galaxy-s3-sticky-roll-thread-t2344125. galaxy J7 Helplessly bootlooping

I am asking for help if anybody here can spare the time. I had my J700P Virgin Mobile rooted and xpose installed. I had notification that I had missed at least one update and wanted to go back to original firmware. I flashed back to original version of firmware no problem and the phone took the update. After the update I was unable to get wifi working again so I tried to reflash the original firmware. Phone flashed fine but when trying to reboot the phone is stuck in bootloop. I have reflashed the original firmware and the new updated firmware several times, tried to restore 3 TWRP backups, everything I can think of and all bootloop. I get the bootup screen - galaxy J7 then it goes to the samsung screen then to the Virgin Mobile screen then loops over and over. Every so many loops it goes to android starting up screen optimizing various numbers of apks, usually 1 of 1. I can do pretty much anything needed, use odin, access adb ect. Any other info needed please let me know. I am at the end of my knowledge on what to do-----HELP!!!!!!! Thanks.

restoring a twrp backup breaks the phone. go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/development/twrp-3-0-2-0-beta-j700p-2016-fixed-t3485766 and follow the steps for fixing your efs. then you could flash stock rom again.
Bootloop fix
That did the trick!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are the wizard of the day. Thanks from the bottom of my heart. I'm trying everyday to learn because I like to tinker with these expensive toys. You saved me a lot of scouring over endless piles of info.

Note 4 Dreadful unusable performance!

Hi Guys,
Hopefully this is in the right section
I have a Note 4 SM-N910G and its just turned absolutely useless since I factory flashed it. I have rooted it before and bricked it and un bricked it before so have some experience with it. I recently wiped my phone and did a firmware restore using Samsung Kies and since I did the phone is absolutely useless. It started out fine for an hour or two and now it lags by like a minute with any action, even trying to bring up the keyboard when typing. It will reset itself, lock itself, crash, just un useable. I've tried reflashing it again stock a couple times and still the same everytime. It went from perfectly fine to dreadful with the original mentioned restore. I did just recently get an error code of "sbl1 partition doesn't exist" in Boot recovery mode.
Does anyone know if this is fixable and not a hardware issue?
Should I try and just root it again and flash a non-oem rom? (I havent had the time to do it recently)
many thanks,
Tekkado
Hi Guys,
Also I should add that when I was rooted the phone was fine but when i went to unroot through super user the phone was still functioning as though rooted and I couldnt download software updates because my device was "modified".
So thats when i just flashed stock firmware and again now flashing through odin aswell it proceeds fine then the device will say installing updates and then give a no command error or seandroid not enforced. Everytime is basically a different message.
How can I just wipe everything and get back to stock?
Thanks
So to add to this is there any relationship between the firmware running and the bootloader? I just realised that before i tried to flash stock firmware i was rooted and didnt un root via superuser because in the past that did jack all.
I flashed dr. ketan rom this morning and the phone was operating as normal very snappy but as soon as i downloaded a new app from the play store (reddit and chrome) again it turned to absolute crap.
Is there a disconnect here that i missing that can be fixed?
Thanks

I can't get mobile data to work on stock rom (nougat)

Hey guys,
So lately i decided to try to dual boot on my phone so I can play pokemon go with a friend of mine but still mainly use a custom rom for evcerything else. So I reinstalled the stock firmware with download mode and tried to install twrp. due to me failing horribly due to me not working on my phone in a long while i had to restart. eventually i failled to get everything working multiple times (everytime i failed i would reinstall the stock rom) and gave up. so i installed the stock rom and twrp with magisk however I noticed my phone wouldn't connect to my mobile data. I tried to clear the cache, reinstall the stock rom again without twrp and turning mobile data on and off. nothing of what i tried worked. thats when i decided either i somehow broke my s7's radio receptor thing (i dunno whats it called) or my sim card broke somehow. so first i decided to insert my sim into my old phone and i was able to get my mobile data working. that made feel sad since i thought it meant i broke my s7. so since i voided my warrenty i decided that i will temporarily will use my s5 as my main phone and use my s7 as a sort of ipod.. that made me decide to install a custom rom again on my s7 to make it less bloated. here is where it gets strange though. for some reason i reinserted my sim into my s7 when i installed the custom rom and i was able to get mobile data! so i quickly, while thinking that it was fixed, reinstalled my stock rom and welp it wouldn't connect again.
(Also i think it is important to mention that it twice got connected to mobile data before it disapeared.)
So my main question is how do i get mobile data working again on the stock phone?
thanks in advance,
Mtbcooler

I can't get wifi to work after installing TWRP

Hi all,
Before you jump at me telling me I haven't searched the forum, I DID and I couldn't solve my issue even with these solutions. To get you up to speed on what exactly I did.
Briefing (not very important):
I was doing my own business and I was free, I use my phone daily and it served me well. But I noticed that the last security patch I got was on 2020 and got me thinking. Why not just use custom ROMs to update my phone and get a year or two from my MIX3 (2018). I just recently flushed my brother's phone (Samsung) with a custom ROM and I liked it. I already installed TWRP 3 years ago on my brother's phone and I just had to install a zip file and boom new Android 12 on a 2014 phone.
The problem:
after reading here on the forums, it seemed that it is more complicated to do. I'm up to the challenge, I have done it before and the reward is worth it.
+Unlocking the Bootloader
this was a bit easy other than the connection issues but I got it unlocked eventually. (use the QR code to sign it. it is much easier)
I had an issue where after unlocking the bootloader the phone didn't allow me to install TWRP and do a backup, it immediately went into erasing the entire phone.
+Installing TWRP
I downloaded the files from TWRP website and everything was smooth other than the Mi Recovery popping every time I restart (install Magisk to plant TWRP then remove it if you don't need root)
+The downhill
after restarting, the phone worked fine I installed all the apps and restored everything. Afterward, I noticed that the camera does not work. It gives me an error. I reinstalled TWRP again since it was reverting to its Mi Recovery and I think here was the problem I flashed the recovery.img into the boot partition by mistake (I didn't notice at first) but after going back to the command I saw I made a mistake and reflashed the recovery with recovery.img and installed the Magisk and everything was ok. At the initial start, the SIM and the WIFI are not working.
after several attempts at reinstalling different flashable stock ROMs, I saw that the issue is consistent. I read online that you have five .img files that control the different parts of your phone. I got tired and decided to reflash the stock ROM via the Mi flasher and get it back to stock.
Even after flashing the stock ROM, I'm still having the same issue.
I reflashed the modem.img in the modem and still wifi and sim card are not working
I read that some phones have an A/B partition and my phone does NOT have it.
I'M AT A LOSS I CAN NOT FIX IT. IT'S BEEN 3 DAYS ON THIS AND I CAN NOT FIGURE IT OUT!!
Ok, If anyone was passing by I think I found what was the problem.
First, check if your problem matches mine. Go to Settings and check your IMEI. Or just dial *#06# ,if your phone did not return with a number then you lost your IMEI number.
follow this guide and I hope it helps. this is only for some phones so don't try it, it might break your phone
[GUIDE] Backup, edit and restore QCN. Fixing lost IMEI.
Introduction This is a guide to backup and restore the QCN, and to edit other's QCN in case you lost your IMEI and you don't have a backup of your QCN. There are other ways to do some steps (the most popular is via Fastboot) but I'm gonna...
