[Completed] Nand write start failure soft bricked unable to flash stock firmware - XDA Assist

Hi, so I am on a Galaxy S5 16gb running lollipop 5.0 through sprint. Im not too in this scene but Ive known enough to successfully root and unroot several other phones without.any problems. I successfully rooted my S5 using Cf auto root and everything was perfect until I tried flashing a .zip file for xposed installer through recovery. Ever since my phone wont go.past the samsung logo on start up. I am able to still access download and recovery mode. Every time on odin I try to flash the stock firmware (ive tried three.different ones) it ends up saying " nand write start fail" then "complete write operation failed". This is stressimg me out hardcore and im completely unsure of what I need to do. Much help needed.

I found a similar issue report here: [Q] Need help for S4 GT-I9505 " firmware upgrade encountered an issue" .
Suggested solution there was to boot into recovery, wipe data (= do a factory reset) then flash a new firmware with Odin.
You need to specify your exact device model (GT-I9500 or GT-I9505 or ???).
Then the firmware version your are running ATM.
And the rooting method which failed.
Maybe the rooting method doesn't work for the firmware version.
Here is a rooting guide specially for Lollipop on the S4: [Guide][How to Root Lollipop GT-I9500/i9505][5.0.1].
If you have further questions, please register on xda and ask in the corresponding Q&A thread.

[Q] Messed up rooting hoping to find a fix

I recently got my Samsung Galaxy S6 and decided to root and install TWRP for a custom rom. I was able to root the phone and then installed their android app. TWRP Manager (ROOT).
After that I went to the app and one of the sidebars labeled install TRWP on the app then to the codename zeroflte for the Samsung Galaxy S6. It told me to restart my phone and I did but after that I was not able to use my phone again. Whenever I would turn on my phone it would show the normal Samsung s6 screen with a unlock picture and the words custom underneath. After that it would display a turquoise color screen with a words
Start Up Failed. Your device didn’t start up successfully. Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device.
I tried to google and see if anyone had a similar problem but nothing popped up. I don’t know where to find a copy for the Verizon Software Repair Assistant for the Galaxy S6.
I also tried and factory reset the phone or anything but the only combinations of buttons that would work on my phone were the down volume + power button. It gave me a list of options including factory reset but every option that I chose would lead me back to the same screen. The turquoise screen saying Start Up Failed.
Any help would be great. I don’t know what to do now. Tomorrow I am going to down to a local repair store and see what they can do. But if you know of anything that would be great. Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

Have you tried to Odin back to stock?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s6/development/5-15-stock-odin-tar-t3109676
Ya, you'll need to odin back to stock like he said. And TWRP isn't available for our phone since we don't have an unlocked bootloader. Do not try and install TWRP again. You'll want to use Flashfire if you need to flash anything.

Keep in mind XDA is a community for developers by developers. People are also willing to help, but you got to put forth your own effort. You will get ignored if you think people on this site are going to act as free tech support. Your question is posted just a few posts down from a link to the process on using odin to return to stock. You need to just follow those instructions. If you don't understand a step then Google it. I'm saying this because I noticed you joined XDA to ask this question. Or at least it's your first post. You will make a lot of enemies here if you don't take the time to read and research things before posting.
HELP
I have the same problem (Start up failed) but ODIN is not working for me... I am using the stock firmware for the GS6 edge and it says failed... what should I do?

If you have an edge you should use their forum. It's different than the GS6.
Just had to Odin my Verizon S6 (sm-g920v) to get it back to factory defaults.
I've been rooted for months with no issues and have known my bootloader was locked with no nice way around it but then i read some stupid guides saying to go get twrp manager to load custom roms on the Galaxy s6 phones and they even included the sm-g920v model number. I went to the app store, downloaded twrp manager, followed the first few steps, rebooted and that was that. Could not boot up anymore without Start Up Failed. A few checks and warning would have been greatly appreciated from the app developers but oh well.
Well that was fun. Now to redo everything on my phone.

Same exact crap just happened to me. I was running CleanRom Lite....thought I could use TWRP...some times I do stupid things...should have just stuck with FlashFire.
I've tried odin back to stock, it keeps failing. it says nand write fail and it stops. I've tried many different times. I've run Odin 3.10.6 and 3.10.7 I have the latest drivers, it recognizes the device but it will not load anything via odin. I've tried on two different computers as well.

I have a Galaxy s6 edge btw. Not much info on the edge, in desperation, I'm combing thru galaxy s6 forums seeking answers. I have been rooted for awhile. I wanted to turn off the nagging volume warning so I downloaded a zip file to flash but only to find that my twrp recovery was no longer there. So I try to download twrp and flash. Now I'm in a boot loop with the turquoise screen telling me to use a verzion tool to reset the device. Klies says my phone isn't compatible as well as smart switch. Odin fails every time after NAND WRITE. I'm about to microwave this crap and get new phone.

Did you ever get your phone up and running? I ran into similar issue with odin. After looking around on web I found a forum that mentioned using an older version of odin.

Sorry I saw you tried other odin versions 3. 10.x, I meant going lower. 3.09 is recommended for jb/kk but that worked for me.

[Completed] Galaxy S6 AT&T Custom Binary Blocked by Reactivation lock!!

GUYS!!! SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE!!!! Okay i have a Galaxy S6 version 5.0.2 running AT&T G920AUC1AOE2. i had it rooted with ping pong root and everything was working alright. so i noticed i didnt have a custom recovery and i needed one to install other root items. I decided to try TWRP and followed the instructions from Techno buzz... just google s6 custom recovery and its the first one! and everything seemed to go fine until i tried to rebooted to get into my TWRP. and when i did all i got was a reboot and the normal start up screen that says Custom Binary Blocked by Reactivation Lock on the top left hand corner in red letters!! it doesnt go past here!!! ive had some experience with rooting and things like that but this time i dont know!!! i tried downloading the Stock Rom from an XDA forum but it was the OCE version... not the one im on which is OE2. so when i tried to install it would get stuck on NAND WRITE START!!! on odin!! i also didnt have USB Debugging on but i dont think thats the problem. the drivers are properly installed...i found a stock rom that is OE2 and i will try with that..PLEASE if anyone can help me i would really love your help!!! also please try to contact me at [email protected] PLEASE THIS IS MY LAST HOPE!!!!
Update
Okay so odin isnt gonna work.. so i found out i had a galaxy s2 lying around that wasnt running smoothly and i was trying to use odin to maybe flash a stock onto it. but i remember i had kies. so i went there and went to the firmware install. asked for the model number and it worked, asked for the serial number and it worked, then it downloaded and everything worked. so then with my s6 it isnt supported so i tried smart switch. i went to firmware install. model number was good, but when i type the serial number the whole program closes and i cant do anything. i would try to use odin to mess my phone up and try A emergency recovery but i cant even write with odin. im getting close so any ideas??

[Completed] Bootloop on SM G900T1 using CF auto

Hi,
I have rooted a few devices, however this is the first time I have encountered a bootloop error.
Specifically I used Odin and ran CF Auto Root (kltemetropcs smg900t1) from Chainfires DL site
chainfire 405 CF-Root
Device is a Galaxy S5 G900T1 (metro pcs) running Lollipop.
Oden successfully completed all threads. Didn't show any errors, however the phone never finished its boot cycle,
it stops at the carrier logo screen.
I noticed that odin deletes any previous files so I tried a second time using the same CFroot, still the same outcome.
I was thinking of doing a factory reset after reading some other forums, or reinstalling factory ROMs though this is getting to the limit on my knowledge.
I'm unsure of what I should try next, or even where to ask.
Anyone able to help or know where I can ask?

Hi 8thvision
Thanks for using XDA Assist and I can assure you that you came to the right place :good:
As you, I'm a happy owner of a S5 and will try to guide you through this. Please excuse me but, as you didn't commented the what you already reviewed, I may be repetitive here.
The first resource you should access is Chainfire's main thread regarding the S5 (link below). All experienced user reports are in there and they may be helpful for your problem.

[Completed] i8190 S3 mini / soft-bricked / twrp is being a persistent %@$%$!

hi, S3 Mini i8190, this has me banging my head in the wall for past 18 hours after trying a dozen roms / stock / custom / various recoveries and the pit files.
A.) Initially, the phone wasn't rooting with the norms so i had to install a prerooted rom. Anyway, since it was the an almost look-alike of stock, i wanted to move to CM 12. So, for that i had to install twrp, now even after being rooted, the odin wasn't able to flash the recovery. So, i chose the twrp app and there i messed up, i thought it would be the latest version which it wasn't it was a 2.6....version which doesn't support the f2fs so i knew i have to get a newer version of the twrp, since then i have been trying to fix this but i can't, so much so i tried stock pit files all over the internet and i get error on all of them "Complete(Write) operation failed."
Every recovery / rom which can be flashed using odin, flashes "successfully".
1.) rom loads up but it stays in soft-brick. (doesn't progresses from the boot anim)
2.) recovery shows to have successfully flashed, but on the boot; no matter which recovery i put in, it always goes to the same version of twrp that was initially installed by the app.
I forgot to mention, it asked if the right place to flash is an area of the internal memory...mmc...something...and i was furious and i selected it; i guess thats where it all messed up.
i tried pit files, roms, recoveries, stock, custom, adb push, adb sideload, various versions of odin and all.
B.) the real reason for changing to a custom rom was; the phone was able to connect to pc in download mode/recovery without a difficulty; however within rom, it was only on charging mode. So i guess there is something wrong from earlier on.
now i'm sure there's no memory bricked since writing happens easily. I probably have written the recovery somewhere like within the cache partition that it never gets deleted and no matter what i flash, it always open up twrp of the same version.
Pit isn't flashing. Can i repartition / format the entire memory someway? *nand flash etc didn't work within odin too. same error as that of pit files.
Please guide, i don't want to lose this phone, i just bought a new battery.
should i also make this post within the s3-mini section?
