Using the official wireless car dock, my S-6 wont charge. I thought it may have been due to Ping Pong Root, so I used Odin to flash stock. Still won't work.
Anyone else have this issue? Think I'll have to get a new phone?

ok so my GF has a car charger for her blackberry that has the built-in usb port so you can hook up something else. this is great for roadtrips so we can share a charger. my old touchpro2 worked just fine using the usb cable and the charger but for some reason i cant get my D2G to do the same thing. i tried it when i first got the phone (before i hooked it up to my computer) but it didnt work. i was wondering if anyone else is able to do this? is there a certain usb mode i should leave the phone in? (pc mode, charge only...) i have a road trip planned and like to use wifi tether but i dont wanna buy a $30 car charger and have more crap and wires to deal with
thanks
It might be that the charger doesn't supply enough power

does anyone do this?
what type of car charger do you use?
My girlfriend has one that she got with her Samsung and it works fine and I have another one from Verizon that works also.
well if i cant get it to work then ill just buy one for my D2G and use the usb port for her phone... any recommendations for a good and relatively cheap charger?
I am getting closer to getting this to work, but not there yet.
I am trying to get the following to work on my Xoom:
- Cisco console cable
- Tripp Lite USB to Serial
- OTG Cable
My Xoom is wifi only, and is rooted with Tiamat 1.1 ROM and currently Launchpad newest kernal.
Now when I connect everything together the Tripp Lite cable will light up for a few seconds, then go off. So I know the Xoom is seeing it, but no way to run it. I have download the app called SerialPort, but for the life of me can't get it to connect.
I know I can buy a $60 bluetooth serial adapter, but I still have to get the bluetooth adapter power. I would rather just get this working using the cables since I already have everything.
Has anyone ever gotten this work with the cables?
By using Hackers keyboard and connect bot I can connect to my Cisco equipment through wifi just fine. I just need to be able to console to the equipment in case there is no wifi available.

I would like to see this too. I work around console equipment a lot too

For giggles I just tried this now that I have 3.2 rooted with Tiamat Katana kernal. Still a no go
Anyone know how to get this working?

Well...my wife's transformer is incredibly slow and she is giving me permission finally to root it. However I have had difficulty doing so because the charging/interface port on the tablet has issues. A while ago the port stopped charging the tablet. We have multiple chargers for that tablet and nothing will charge it via that port. The only way she can charge it is by plugging it into the keyboard dock and charging the dock. Therefore when I try to plug the tablet into the computer so that I can forego the root process the computer will not recognize it.
So my question is.....can this tablet be rooted by downloading files to it and not need a tablet to PC interface? Or, can the tablet be plugged into the dock and interface with the PC somehow? I looked through all the rooting methods I could find and all of them required a tablet to PC interface.
Unfortunately you need a computer USB connection to root it. There was only 1 firmware (8.6.5.19) that could be rooted without a PC. In order to downgrade, you need a computer as well.
I have been able to root mine using the dock charging port. I just booted to APX mode (VOL UP and POWER).
I wrote a guide on how to root here: http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...t/31927-frederuco-s-guide-root-rom-tf101.html
If the dock is charging the tablet surely the issue must be with charger/cable ive had issues with tf101 cable before, mine would slow charge at rate that was bearly noticable, and the tablet didn't show a charging icon, but the cable did allow a data connection still. If infact it is your tf101 thats the issue root will be out of the question but i belive the stock kernel can be overclocked with an overclocking app which might help a bit.

One would think cause that is the most logical explanation. However, I have tried 3 cables (one the original and other 2 brand new ones) and 2 different OEM power supplies and one that I made which has the proper output ratings and none will charge the tablet. However, all of them will charge the dock. The only way to get the tablet to charge is by plugging into the dock. I know it uses the same port and I am clueless as to why one charges and the other doesn't on the same port. All I know is that is what is going on.
The only problem I ever had with flashing while docked was flashing Ubuntu. But I always flash while docked, so that shouldn't be an issue.
I just flashed back to stock, then re-rooted (wanted a TWRP backup of rooted stock) using the OEM cable via the dock charging port.
No issues here.
My friend's phone is running AOSP ROM and her MicroUSB port on the phone fried. There was actually smoke coming out of the port.
No computer's recognize the USB port and the battery does not charge. So she's going to get a warranty replacement.
But, she wants the phone returned to stock before she sends it in. I told her not to worry about it, but she's still concerned.
Anyone know of a way to return to un-rooted stock ROM without using a MicroUSB cable?
TWRP recovery and the rest of the phone are working fine.
Not sure but check about mobile odin pro.
Thanks doesn't hurt....
Hi.
I'm kinda new to this and was wondering if anyone has had similar problem. My USB port only seems to work as a charger (slowly). No computer recognises the phone. It only displays USB device not recognised. I know for sure it's not the computer(s) as my S7 works fine.
My major problem is: is there a way to flash phone without USB cable?? My phone status is displaying as "custom" and alas, will not let me update OTA.
I think it may be a software problem... But I'm no expert...
I'd appreciate any help from anyone who can suggest a remedy.
regards and good luck!
:crying:
Software Problem??
I'm just wanting to know if it's possible that a software issue is causing the USB problems??? or is it hardware related.
It no longer uses the fast-charge method, just the regular slow charge... I've noticed that charging takes longer than usual, even if not using the adaptive fast charging plug.... Just a thought...
go raibh mait agat!
Same here, think it's s faulty USB port on phone?
