So I have an old t-mobile s3 and it was in great condition. Few days ago I decided to root it (I've never rooted or done things like that before) and I used something called king root app and it rooted my phone. I was able to flash cm 11 to update my phone to 4.4.4 on it and the phone was working smoothly. Then a few minutes later I felt like I got the hang of customizing my phone and tried to flash a rom called glamour s5 costum rom (it's designed for the s3). I went to cwm recovery mode and flashed the rom. Then when I tried to reboot it, it completely went black and wouldn't turn on again.
I tried to get it to download mode and recovery mode but it still won't work. I also tried using a debrick image. I not sure if I used the right one though because I used a 4.3 debrick image and my s3 is 4.4.4. after I updated it with the cm 11 rom.
Can someone please give me some advice on how to fix this, I'm freaked out that I might have totally ruined my phone! I ordered a usb jig because I saw on YouTube that a guy fixed his hard bricked s3 with the jig. I hope it works. But does anyone know any other way I can fix my phone and can someone tell me what I might have done wrong and if the usb jig might work in my situation.

Wait, I have a question about the link. For the second link, does bootloader brick mean soft brick. Because I think mine is a hard brick, so will the method the first guy said possibly work.

so i recently read a thread on howardforums on now to root virgin mobile's samsung galaxy sII. i just got one for christmas and wanted to try it out. apparently i used the wrong kernal when flashing it over to my phone using odin as they specified. so when it was done i attempted to turn the phone on and all i got was the samsung galaxy sII logo and a yellow triangle. i have tried every way i know possible to get this off of my phone. i even went as far as to research repairing this problem using the siyah kernal. i can longer start my phone i can however get into download mode and recovery mode. i have tried to do a factory reset over ten times but it doesnt work. the only other thing i can think of is to flash the original stock firmware over to the phone and hope for the best. does anyone A: know where i could get the original firmware for the phone or B: have any better suggestions on how to fix this issue. i would greatly appreciate is as it was a gift from my mom and i dont have insurance on the line and even if i did. they wouldnt take it back because they would find out that i rooted it. and i cannot afford to go out and buy a new one any time soon. once again any help is much appreciated please get back to me ASAP!! i've learned my lesson and if i can get back to factory settings i am not going to root this phone ever again!!!
Yes, wiping and flashing the stock ROM is what you need to do.
To find it, try going to your device's forum (and/or searching) - and make sure it's for the correct carrier.
Mistakes happen, it's okay. If you'd still like root access, just go slowly and re-read everything a couple of times before putting it to practice.
Edit : Also, take a look into how to make back-ups of your phone - that way you can try things and not have to worry about losing everything and having to start over.

Double check your model number. It will be printed on the label underneath the battery. I believe the Virgin Mobile Galaxy SII is the SPH-D710 (aka the Epic 4g Touch), NOT the GT-i9100. This is the forum for the i9100. If your model number reads as SPH-D710, then you're looking in the wrong forum. The i9100 doesn't even work on the same network as the Epic 4g Touch. Firmwares and kernels for the i9100 won't work on the Epic 4g Touch.

You're right mine is the SPH-D710. thank you. i went to samsung mobile and put the sprint firmware for the SPH-D710 on my phone. but now my issue is that when i turn the phone on it loads up the sprint logo instead of the virgin one and it now has all the stock sprint apps instead of virgin ones. andddd. the most annoyhign of them all. i cannot get MMS messages to download no matter what i do. i've tried searching online for what to do i have found this Menu>settings>wireless and networks>more...>mobile networks> press menu> press ADD apn...etc etc. the issue for me is i get to mobile networks and hit menu and it does absolutely nothing at all. i have downloaded numerous apps like chomp sms. go sms pro. hancent sms. nothing helps. though this sprint firmware is fine for now. i'd love to know where to get the stock virgin firmware Samsung Mobile doesnt seem to have it. if anyone knows where to get it i'd appreciate the help i know i am posting in the wrong forum. i'm pretty much a noob at this. and now that its got sprint firmware on it i dont know if i can take it to a sprint store to have them fix it especially since my phone does say that it has been rooted in the past when i go into download mode. but however it does say i am running stock at the current moment....someone please help!! This is my very first post so sorry if this is creating a new thread that shouldn't exist. I have a Macbook Pro and I recently got the official Jelly Bean from Rogers (it's like AT&T in Canada) for my Galaxy S II LTE. I want to root my phone but would also like to have the option to unroot it in case I need to turn my phone in for the warranty.
Can someone give me a simple (n00b) step-by-step explanation on how to root my phone?

like hechoen says in the other thread, use Heimdall, or borrow a pc, just takes a few minutes.
im uploading a flashable deodexed rooted w/mohans kernelk, will be done soon.
to return to stock ics via cwm/twrp(no odin needed) read my howto restore to stock guide, good for warranty repair when having a dead usb port, driver issues and for mac users
Best way to root with Mac is throwing it off a bridge then get a pc.

Okay so after getting my s5 sport I simply tried to root it. Not paying attention I got the root for a regular s5 g900p. So my phone booted to where it said Samsung s5 sport then vibrated and flashed a like for about a half a second. Imagine this coming on your screen
----- except like a grayish white color. After this I downloaded the right root but had the same problem I then went to install omega because someone said it would work and I got the kernel Sean droit thing. I simply fixed this by downloading the kernel for my device but it would still not boot up. I tried multiple roms through Cwm I tried cyanogen fusion and the basic stock rom which I tried on odin and failed I tried on sd card and still was unsuccessful. I am using a friends phone to post on the forums hoping that I can get help. This will be mostly appreciated considering I just got the phone and it is the only one that I have at the moment. Thank you

ok well a couple of days ago i hard bricked my phone trying to unlock my bootloader using ezunlock app. i was running cyanogenmod 11 android version 4.4.4 i was able to find an debrick image and put it on a usb and boot from the usb. but now in an attempt to get the phone to boot from the emmc i tried upgrading to cyanogenmod 12 android version 5.1.1. sadly this didnt work. im out of ideas and i did find a post about being able to flash the rom with odin and that my restore the bootloaders in my galaxy s3 sgh-i747 but im at a loss. any help i could get in solving this and hopefully getting my phone to boot on its own.

Recently switched from Sprint to AT&T. I have been using a S4 I337. I am happy with it. Rooted it. Not happy with volume but I am happy. Bought another for my wife but it had 5.0 on it. I had tried that but did not like it. I used ODIN and flashed hers but it has 4.4.2. Would like matching phones ( I have a touch of OCD). Seems I can't find the update. Does anyone have it or know where
