Hi,
I recently downgraded the OS on my Xperia M2 to Jelly Bean. That is something like this :
Device Name : Sony Xperia M2 D2303
Date Update : 2014-05-28
Region Code : CE
Region Country : Central Euro
Firmware Version : 18.0.C.1.13
OS Name : Jelly Bean
OS Version : 4.3
Now on many a level this has worked fine. I have much more internal storage available, and there's not a lot of difference between Jelly Bean and KitKat.
However, ever since doing this I get the following popup every time my phone loses signal.
Managed Roaming
Network with Limited Service found. Do you want to initiate a Network Search?
Does anyone know what's causing this and how to stop it? Since I live in the UK I am wondering whether it's because I installed a central Europe ROM?
Thanks for your help,
Neill
It's not the ce1 ftf(unless it's a bad one) as you can use more or less all of them only real difference is the pre installed apps. I was on customised tw and now back on customised UK without any problems. I'd of said it's a setting issue as I've flashed back to jb myself to root my m2 a few times never had a problem
D2303 18.3.1.C.1.15 kk deodexed, rooted, philz touch recovery, xposed, z1 bravia engine 2 + x-reality+ z3 super vivid, viper audio
Thanks for your thoughts.
If it is an issue with the settings, then any ideas on what settings to change? I have looked on a number of other forums and previous posts seem to come in three areas.
1. You're on the sprint network, and they're doing mast maintenance or something.
2. Do a network search and manually choose from there. (didn't help)
3. Turn on data roaming. (sounds like a bad idea)
Any thoughts on where to go from here?
Thanks,
Neill

It seems that Xperia E3 LTE is advancing slowly to bring big updates, because 18.4.c.2.14 looks like Android 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 Kitkat but im not sure. So, i am inviting you (D2203/06/43) owners to test the canadian rom available via XperiFirm.
Also, firmware 18.4.C.2.14 is certified in ptcrb and is granted for D2203/06/43 series only
http://techchomps.com/ptcrb-certify-18-4-c-2-14-for-sony-xperia-e3/
Check it out guys!
Couldt find it beucase it is just registered and it is going to be just small bug fixes maybe. And yes i searched like a .... in the XperiFirm

I think i seen this firmware in xperiaFirm d2206 it is for canada
It's 4.4.2, they just fixed some bugs like memory bar in settings and they added NFC logo in statusbar. Also, new stock Sony browser.
Hearing that, It has no sense updating 4.4.2 in my D2206 using canadian rom because that are little changes. Guys, we deserve something big like lollipop. But when will hit via OTA in our E3? At this moment, not even Z series has received lollipop
OK, so since I have been getting terrible battery life on my Xperia Z3 Dual (around 3h SOT, not even 24h since last unplugged), and highly affected by the "Mobile Radio Active" bug on Android Lollipop (as seen on https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=165558), I have been tempted to downgrade my Z3 Dual to KitKat to see if I can manage to get better results.
However, even though I have looked up both here on XDA and on Google, I haven't been able to find an accurate guide in order to downgrade Android versions.
I have already found apparently a good ROM to fit my needs (D6633 KitKat for Brazilian region):
http://www.stockrom.net/2014/12/baixar-stock-rom-original-de-fabrica_11.html
According to this website, using this ROM along with Flashtool and Fastboot will suffice.
Can anyone confirm this info? I know the tutorial (http://www.stockrom.net/2013/03/tutorial-como-instalar-uma-rom-original.html) is not in English, but it does seem accurate according to the comments...
Therefore, I kindly ask anyone who has already downgraded to confirm these procedures. Will I need anything else? Will I lose anything on my phone?
Thanks a lot.

Interesting, I own Z3 Dual and run Lollipop ROM with no significant issues. To downgrade just flash appropriate ROM with Flashtool. Once you go back to KitKat do nandroid backup, wipe your phone and do clean install of Lollipop again. That way you can go back and forth to test both ROMs. Perhaps your issue stems from upgrade from KitKat to Lollipop instead of full wipe and clean install...
Hey there,
I own a Sony Xperia Z3 D6653 (1288-4394 variant), and it looks like Sony forgot to release the 23.5.A.1.291 firmware update for this variant, which is kind of a bummer since they don't answer my emails.
My phone isn't rooted, and I was wondering if there's a way I can update my firmware without wiping my phone clean.
Thanks!
I own a D6605 with that firmware through OTA update.
Have you searched/selected the correct model at the Sony Support site?
I would recommend to look for it, and maybe specify my model number, and download it yourself.
At the supportsite theres also a tool which has to option to install this update (flash) without wiping your phone. Search this forum for details, as i'm writing this down from memory. They used this method on Z(1) and Z2 before.

What's so special about that TW build? Bands?
Any of the other .291 don't match: https://xpericheck.com/device/D6653 ?
While on 32.4.a.1.54 there was a new update offered (around 350 MB),
obviously it failed on this device with custom stock kernel + recovery installed ...
So the question is:
what is contained in this update ?
Did anyone else get this notification and installed it on unmodified Stock ?
No update in my z5
Australia generic firmw.
Probably security updates, I've heard some Z4 tablets got it too.

Seems to be this CDA for the Z4 Tablet, it has the same build number? It could be a late carrier update?

Nothing on the Z5 side (atleast from XperiCheck and a manual lookup on XperiFirm). I am a bit shocked that there are even security updates for our device seeing how it was end of line for the two years support.

I bought the Japanese model (the SOV40 from KDDI AU) and it doesn't support VoLTE.
Then I flashed the J8110's Customized UK firmware, ended up still not having VoLTE.
The last thing I did was following this method and it worked!
I now have VoLTE working properly! Could receive/make calls coming to/from my number.
Based on my own testing (on the SOV40 device), this method worked on J8110's Customized UK firmware (based on Android 11) and SOV40's own stock firmware (based on Android 10).
As these "patch files" are copied from the Customized SEA firmware for J9110, it may/may not work for other region (due to maybe the SEA firmware only have VoLTE profile/support for SEA countries). Meaning you might have to find other firmware that have support for VoLTE for that region.
You can still give it a try, if you want. You can download the "patch file" from my reply in here and flash it with newflasher.
Sony Xperia 1 Finally singnal dropping issue or volte problem solve. Working very good thanks for for my help.

I'd flash ROM code, and work fine about all... Thanks!!
But NFC still not work.
I pair with my BT ear phone & smart watch, all can't work.
And then using "NFC Tools" to read NFC tag, still not work (can't read any tag's UID).
Have you any idea??
If not, I'll flash back to 802SO official ROM these days...
Everybody don't try it~ (except you don't need NFC)
The NFC function lost forever..........
I'd downgrade to Android 9 & 10, newflasher 802SO official ROM, but NFC still lost~ ...v_v...
