Xperia E3 LTE D2206 firmware 18.4.C.2.14 landed in Canada, is 4.4.4 indeed? - Sony Xperia E3

It seems that Xperia E3 LTE is advancing slowly to bring big updates, because 18.4.c.2.14 looks like Android 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 Kitkat but im not sure. So, i am inviting you (D2203/06/43) owners to test the canadian rom available via XperiFirm.
Also, firmware 18.4.C.2.14 is certified in ptcrb and is granted for D2203/06/43 series only

I think i seen this firmware in xperiaFirm d2206 it is for canada

It's 4.4.2, they just fixed some bugs like memory bar in settings and they added NFC logo in statusbar. Also, new stock Sony browser.

Hearing that, It has no sense updating 4.4.2 in my D2206 using canadian rom because that are little changes. Guys, we deserve something big like lollipop. But when will hit via OTA in our E3? At this moment, not even Z series has received lollipop

Looking For Up-to-date Info About Lollipop For E3

So I just got a xperia E3 for free and was told it was apart of the Lollipop update this year but it seems everything I find online says it isn't apart of the update anymore. Can anyone fill me in on if it is or not aswell as working builds if there are any.

I haven't seen or heard of an official future update to Lollipop for the E3 yet. I have tried the unofficial updates available for the D2203 only, which are working but not really usable in my opinion.

[Q] XPERIA Z3 DUAL [D6633] official Lollipop Update.

Why is there no words on lollipop update from sony for the sony xperia z3 dual? Z3 and Z3c lollipop updates have already just started rolling today. But no news for the z3 dual [/SIZE]

Sony said that the update will release in the next 2 weeks, but I doubt it. We'll have to wait a little bit.

Just wait till the Lollipop goes for any Z3 including D6603 just somewhere like Russia,Brazil,Germany. In that time you'll see update for D6633 too. But now, there is only Lollipop update available for Baltic and northern Europe regions where there is no Dual Sim version sold
well i also read somewhere that they would not roll the update for the z3 dual variant due to dual sim bugs in lollipop. I dont know if it is true i just want my official lollipop and if not then hello cm12
Update is on the way

Wow what a news  It was an update which was certified by PTCRB 3 weeks ago and there is nothing related to Lollipop update in it. Please for god's sake just post news that is about our membership in XDA :crying:
Hope there is lollipop for D6633
I contacted Sony people in Saudi Arabia because according to the IMEI number of my z3 dual its belongs form there. I bought off ebay.
They told me lollipop update is rolling out for entire z3 range so its "highly likely" (exact words used in the email) it will come out for Z3 dual d6633.
Thats what was informed to me... so hoping its correct otherwise the day Z4 dual is released I am switching
Hey guys
Anyone else any more updates on the eta for lollipop on d6633 devices?
No update anywhere regarding d6633 device with respect to lollipop update.
Thinking of biting the bullet bullet and flashing the other lollipop rom with raido patch.
Hello guys
I have sent an email to sony
Just got the reply
So what i have undestood is that the current lollipop update that have been released is only for the Z series in the UK. And there is NO Z3 dual in UK ( like released in UK ) . We should be getting the update for our z3 dual when the update starts rolling globally.
Did they tell you when it's going to happen? (the global upgrade).

No but it seems it gonna happen soon.
I asked Sony Mobile HK the following: "Any update on D6633 (Xperia Z3 Dual) getting Lollipop update?". Their response was: "currently we just launched the Android 5.0 update for Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact Wifi version, the other models are on their way too, pls stay tuned."
Well,
I don't think it's a market question. I'm from Brazil and D6643 just received lollipop (23.1.A.0.690) from Oi BR. In the USA, D6603 just received lollipop too (Customized US - 23.1.A.0.690 / R4C). Both, USA and Brazil, for example, have D6633 in their market - and they're not the same as UK market. So, I think SONY has no plans of updating dual sim version right now. It's ridiculous all the Z series receives lollipop update before all the Z3 models.
PTCRB website showing certification for D6633 on 1 April with firmware number 23.1.1.E.0.1.

still no KK 4.4.4 for Xperia E3 for my region

Hit, I'm an owner of xperia E3 and I've heard that KK 4.4.4 has been rolled over week ago and still is not available in Poland (non-brand phone). And I'm wondering when this update will appear as OTA or PC companion? Do you have aby idea? There's a few annoying bugs and just thinking about flashing my e3 with firmware from other region would be faster .

I checked this out but my e3 is non-brand (nor Play or polkomtel). Those operators provide some crapware with firmwares and i want to avoid this. Do you think it's better to wait for OTA? will it ever appear?
In every phone there is bloadware(exept Nexus. Motorola but they are/were Google ). So i downloaded that UK version and the only bloadware were small application and they are not such a big deal.I remember one of them was Vine. You can wait for a OTA update from the curiour but there is a chance that you will not reseve it.

Xperia XZ F8331 - Is it possible to enable the fingerprint reader after Nougat OTA?

Hey, this is my first post and I'm inexperienced with Android tinkering so I apologize if I've broken any rules. I searched but would like clarification as Nougat has changed things.
Is there any way to enable the fingerprint reader after the Nougat OTA for the US version of the XZ F8331?
I mistakenly didn't realize Nougat had changed things and unwittingly soft bricked my XZ the other day but managed to unbrick it and really want to avoid bricking it again.
It seems that downgrading to Marshmallow via flashtool is possible? so maybe it could be possible to downgrade to the UK Marshmallow and then get the UK Nougat OTA and then get the fingerprint reader to function that way?
Any rom you use that isn't the US rom will allow fingerprint to work.
Right, but flashtool isn't compatible with Nougat yet. I just got the idea of using Emma though, will look into it more soon
Yeah, you can just flash an MM rom and update to Nougat via OTA.
EMMA will only work with devices with unlocked bootloaders.
You are correct in your first thought. Just flash a UK FTF for MM and get the OTA Nougat update.
Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately the Customized UK MM FTF seems to be no longer available from XperiFirm and I haven't had any luck trying to find it elsewhere.
How much does the Market/Operator matter? Maybe a customized MM FTF from another region is better? Anything I should be worried about?

Not really. Only a bit of bloatware, everything else is about the same.
You may be able to find an older FTF from here though
Thanks again! There is a Customized UK FTF for MM on the site you linked but it can't be downloaded for free unfortunately.

I am wondering the same - new F8331 on N OTA and enabling the fingerprint reader. Any luck on your end figuring this out?
I've been running customized NOBA in my Z5 for a while here in the US and have been very happy with it. Customized NOBA for the XZ still hasn't been updated to Nougat, so that could be an option. I don't get to unwrap my XZ until Christmas, so I've already downloaded the MM version currently on Xperifirm to re-enable my fingerprint sensor first.
I like customized NOBA because it has bloatware you can completely uninstall.
You should be able to google the central europe firmware (marshmallow) and use that. I just fixed 2 XZs yesterday after banging my head against the wall over the firmware.
Update to marshmallow using flashtool and then OTA update to nougat. Central Europe works perfectly and I get the LTE symbol (some people hated the 4G symbol even though it's the same). Finger print scanner works (both phones are US versions from Amazon).
Help me please

Updating to 23.5.A.1.291 for Xperia Z3 D6653 (1288-4394)

Hey there,
I own a Sony Xperia Z3 D6653 (1288-4394 variant), and it looks like Sony forgot to release the 23.5.A.1.291 firmware update for this variant, which is kind of a bummer since they don't answer my emails.
My phone isn't rooted, and I was wondering if there's a way I can update my firmware without wiping my phone clean.
Thanks!
I own a D6605 with that firmware through OTA update.
Have you searched/selected the correct model at the Sony Support site?
I would recommend to look for it, and maybe specify my model number, and download it yourself.
At the supportsite theres also a tool which has to option to install this update (flash) without wiping your phone. Search this forum for details, as i'm writing this down from memory. They used this method on Z(1) and Z2 before.
