No OTA yet, but we can flash from the updater app on the phone after downloading that 333 mb file
Trying to root it now.
There are some gimmicks like double tap to wake, lets see if they have sorted out the issues in this update!!!

Well, Updated the ROM and rooted it. So far, it has less lag than the previous version, the camera bug seems to be gone....looks good so far.
music on the lockscreen is nice!! plus they have updated their stock music player as well.

For me the phone doesn't charge to 100%

Flashed last night, did a clean install, for me the most annoying bug was battery drain, even in airplane mode it drain like 30%/40% battery in about 8h.
So last night it spend 5% in 10h and that is so amazing for me.
The rom feels so smoother now, SwiftKey still crashes sometimes but I'm loving it, still I need more time to see where it stands but looks very solid.

can somebody please post a mirror of one of the fastboot roms? my device got bootlooped but my pc can't reach the xiaomi servers for some reason :s mega would be awesome

thanks man i'll test now.
Edit: it worked fine for me performance seems better overal, battery life feels improved too but I have no stats yet.
Antutu test worries me deeply --' 21k, lower than my galaxy ace II ... (performance mode no background apps)

Swiftkey crash
Try this themed swiftkey. I had some crashes before, but this one works really fine for me:

i am using it since yesterday noon without any issues. No lag during opening apps, smoother. battery charges full and I dont experience any excess battery drain. Well, I dont use Double Tap to Wake feature(who needs that gimmick anyways? Anyone remember that LG phone, or was it samsung, that you could blow to wake LOL)
A major update, made the device much better, I think.

Unroot before updating from OTA or else you will face bootloop. If you have the recovery rom you may be able to flash thru recovery. I haven't tried it though.
After installation, you can root it easily again.

Got me into a bootloop but that may be because i was using a twrp as recovery, but yeah the update didn't go ok, got a bootloop, was forced to recover my phone through fastboot, then the fastboot file on xiaomi's website was actually giving the latest file the one i just announced in this thread, the link was broken, so i had to use beta file, I flashed the beta, then through Mi-recovery i am flashing stable.
Now on stable Ill try to update to the latest stabel (the announced on this thread) will report back.
updated, everything went smooth, the failure earlier may have been due to the custom recovery.

Got myself in a boot loop as well due to previous root as I didn't unroot. Is there a way to flash via fastboot without deleting all current user data stored? I'd like to avoid setting everything up again. Or at least a way to still rescue what is still on it right now? Would be glad for any assistance.

its not glabal stable its a beta rom. don't flash bros!! still many bugs there. battery drains like hell

I removed apps that can be downloaded from Google Play (maps, keep, hangouts, earth, books...)
Otherwise stock odex system is too big for F2FS filesystem.
Now it fits and you have about 15-16mb free.
One thing I am seeing but I think it has nothing to do with the rom is slow charging. I am on the 4.23 boot loader but am still seeing a problem. Saw it on Cm 11 MR7 as well. Is there another bootloader I should be on? Otherwise all is running smooth on this build.

It's funny but I never had lag issues. Keep reading about the disc problems and lag and all that but seemed like I was fine. Then one day the device passed some threshold and it came to a creep. That's when I finally rooted it and started with roms but none helped until the F2FS movement started. That's when I started seeing complaints about slow charging. Never had that before. Now I do.
I should stay off these threads. LOL

F2FS makes this tablet working really good, totally removing the lags that a lot of people experienced.
If slow charging is the price we have to pay, I think is ok.
I had for 5 months a Galaxy Tab 2 (which I sold for N7): compared to it N7 has always been slow on charging.
Anyway is really fun tinkering, flashing and playing with roms. [emoji2][emoji2]

Hmm... I seem to be stuck while booting, I can't get past the 4 colour boot animation.
I have a full-f2fs recovery, full-f2fs properly setup (my previous rom was the full-f2fs version of OmniROM), I've done a factory reset and a dalvik wipe... I don't know what else it could be.
Do I need a specific bootloader version? I think I have 4.13.

If you already formatted all partitions to F2FS it should work.
If you have a backup of Omni try a dirty flash, wiping only cache+dalvik.
I don't think latest bootloader is fundamental.

I'm using TWRP 2.8.1.0 and I tried flashing the latest nightly as well as the stable version. I verified the MD5 signature after copying the .zip to my SD card. I also did a full wipe with TWRP.
My phone is the i727R with Gingerbread 2.3.5. Do I need to update to the latest official 4.x firmware from Rogers before I try to flash with AOSPA?
Any other suggestions or hints? This is my first time trying to flash a custom ROM, so I'm probably doing something wrong.
Figured it out, didn't have the latest radio installed. Might want to add that to the instructions for noobs like me. It's easy to overlook because the note regarding the firmware is under the "contributors" heading, separate from the basic instructions.

Camera is not working for me, but everything else is fine. And pretty darn smooth!
Issue installing

I'm not sure if CWM is compatible with the GApps. I recommend using TWRP instead.
But I have used CWM for GApps for all my ROMs so far and it hasn't been an issue. Why would this be different. My understanding is that it is just a space issue so I am wanting to know if there is a way to get this space issue resolved when even the smallest GApps was still too large (supposedly).

Trouble updating
I installed the 1/16/2015 version (PA 5.02) plus nano gapps. Most things seemed to work well, and I like the look and feel, but two or three times I have experienced periods where the battery drains even though connected to a charger. This morning, for example, the phone had been on the charger all night and was fully charged. Without disconnecting it from the charger, I checked my email and then put the phone back down. An hour or so later, the battery showed low 90's percent, even though it showed that it still was plugged in.
Yesterday I tried to update to the 2/2/2015 version. After making a backup with TWRP, I installed the 2/2 zip. I have flashed several ROMS, so I am not a complete noob, but I have never done a zip upgrade without factory reset. The upgrade seemed to succeed, but after booting, I had no gapps and my google accounts were missing. I then tried reflashing the same gapps and the systemUI fix. That got my apps back, more or less, but my google accounts still were missing and my home screen layouts all were lost. I then reverted to my pre-upgrade nandroid backup and tried again, by installing the 2/2 ROM upgrade zip, the gapps, and the systemUI fix all without rebooting in between. As before, after rebooting, my home screens were gone and (I think) my google accounts were gone. (By the way, I use the Google Launcher.)
Is upgrading from the 1/16 to 2/2 supposed to require reinstallation of gapps and adding back of accounts, home screen setups, etc? If it is then such an upgrade is almost as much hassle as a complete, clean install. Can someone tell me how this is supposed to work?
I installed the Lollipop rom (and the UI patch) and am still having "Can't connect to camera" issues. occasionally, rebooting the phone helps, but then if I do something like switch from the back camera to the front, it will stop working again.

There are issues with the gapps backup script, so the gapps package should be flashed with every ROM update. The loss of gapps most likely caused your accounts and home screen to be removed.

This should only happen when using the front facing camera. This will be fixed next update.
Bummer
Losing home screens and accounts every time an update is flashed is a bummer. Putting everything back (accounts, home screens, Power Toggles settings, ...) makes me hesitate to try an update very often.
You say the problem is with gapps. Does this same problem occur with all flavors of ROMs and all flavors of gapps? I ask because my previous experience with installing ROMs has been installation of new ROMs, not updates to one already installed.
Incorrect information in battery monitor - PA 5
I've been using (and generally liking) the PA 5 for several weeks. I have noted, however, that the breakdown of battery usage, as reported by the OS, seems inaccurate. As just one example, yesterday, I started a 15-minute call shortly after unplugging my phone from the charger, with a full battery. At the end of the call, I was down to about 90% battery. That seems reasonable to me, based on past experience. The battery monitor said almost all of my battery consumption was for Cell Standby, though, with only a little consumption assigned to actual phone use. I've seen some other examples where the usage breakdown did not seem right, although I did not document them and do not recall exact details.
Am I correct that this is incorrect behavior? Are others experiencing this (or does anyone pay attention to it), either on this ROM or on other ROMs?

How is your experience with the temperature & battery life? Can you share some screenshots of your SOT? Did the bugs at V8.2.1.0 finally fixed in V8.2.4.0?
Sent from my Redmi 4 Prime using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Bet this rom weighs more than an average car....
I was using stock 8.2.1 Global Stable. After auto-updating to 8.2.4, had sound glitches, unlock lag and Telegram bugs I've never seen before. I don't recommend to migrate to this version from 8.2.1.
I haven't had any sound glitches or unlock lag (I don't use telegram).
As for battery life it's great, 2 days use, 6 hours SOT so far and I have 50% battery left (4G on all the time).

5th day with the phone. i got it update it to 8.2.4, charged it, unlocked bootloader, installed twrp/root and i had about 10 hours sot during a 3 day period on 2g and a little 3g and wifi disable when screen is off. those 10 hours included a lot of restarts that consume energy a lot of copying things via wifi browsing messenging and a few calls. no problems so far hope i helped.
This update don't bring big changes. Don't understand why you afraid of update. All work's fine including battery life and performances.
Upd:
1. Sound issues and Telegram bugs - no more. One-time glitch?
2. Usual Xiaomi micro-lags when switching apps seem to disappear. So 8.2.4.0 feels way more smooth for me.
3. Battery life - no noticeable changes.
4. MiPicks app added along with annoying ads.

You'll have to flash via TWRP cause the OTA uses the built in Xiaomi recovery (which you dont have anymore since you installed TWRP).

xiaomi.eu is based on the china rom, not the global. they won't release until there's an official release for the CN rom.

Yeah you should wipe the cache and davlik cache at least before flashing the new rom. Full wipe would be best.
To get root you'll have to re-flash the super su zip file after you flash the rom.
Re' 8.2.4.0 global
Just did a clean full wipe and flashed epic zip again for another try, though I still have noticeable battery drain.
Thinking of going 8.2.4.(and then uninstalling a few apps n' make a few minor mods for better battery life)
I have twrp installed, read somewhere I can not get rom updates via OTA due to this. (As MIUI recovery is needed for update?) Is that true?
In which case does that mean when there is a new global rom update, and I flash zip in twrp(if that's the case) I would lose my settings and aps? (Guess I would) Or as it's newer/similar global update could I get my settings back from mi cloud or Titanium back up?
Tired of changing roms and then setting up all the apps.
Sorry if this a newbie type question.
Thanks for any info (=

Android Nougat ROMs List for the BLU Life One X 2016

This is a list of Nougat ROMs for this device and it's clones.
The list will be in the following format:
ROM : Version : Device : Tested/Untested
LineageOS : 14.1 : MMXC5 / E481 : Untested
Resurrection Remix : 5.8.4 : MMXC5 / E481 : Tested
crDROID : v3.5 : MMXC5 / E481 : Tested
AOSGPX : 7.1.2 : MMXC5 / E481 : Untested
There are also ROMs for the Elephone P8000, however the first time I tried one I got into a bootloop. It could just have been that I didn't wipe my caches, or it could have been a fault in the ROM; nonetheless I haven't tried any others from that device.
I couldn't find any for other devices, let me know if you see others.
Here is the factory firmware, as according to this post (Direct Download).

Have you encountered any bugs with crDroid? Did screen on time and standby increase by any good margin because doze and other os optimizations? With stock I get 7hrs SOT with LTE half the day. 5hrs if Skype calls and such.

Only bug so far is the kill app button not working (long press the back button) and sometimes after reboot sim cards not being detected. Usually it corrects itself after a few minutes. If not, I'll just re-flash the fix
Battery gets drained pretty fast compared to lollipop, but then again I used lollipop with xposed, greenify and amplify.

Happy to hear only minor bugs. I'm waiting on black Friday SD card to ship and then I'll be able to test too.
On lollipop all I needed to use was power nap to kill unwanted wake locks. I'll definitely try to get it to work because batter life is important to me. Only reason I'm upgrading is because of older exploits that stock didn't get updates for. Other than that stock with xposed is extremely stable for me.(30-60 days between reboots)
Do you know if crDroid is using stock lollipop kernel or is it a ported kernel? That would effect battery life greatly I suppose.
review of roms
Review time. Installed and tested these roms by wiping dalvik cache, system, data, cache and internal storage. Flashed ROM then gapps then "front camera flash" patch lastly flashed sim patch. Afterwards I wiped cache and dalvik cache again before rebooting. Once I had access to settings I disabled display live/night mode/blue filter for all ROMs.
All the roms tested used about 1GB of ram (and stock ROM being around <600MB.).
Resurrection Remix : 5.8.4 : Looks to me a part of this rom was made by another group of people that were not given credit.. Default browser loads the homepage of the other group. The system FM radio app was asking for root permission(denied it). Also it had email services running before I added any accounts can't remember this being the norm. Other than that this ROM ran the best in terms of speed and ui. Uninstalled because of security concerns.
LineageOS : 14.1 : This ROM has about the same speed as resurrection which is good but the ui stuttered/not smooth. Uninstalled because ported by same user as resurrection.
crDROID : v3.5 : This one ran the worse. It was slow and stuttered throughout the ui. Missed some customizations that Resurrection had so not sure why any one would want to use this instead.
AOSGPX : Didn't bother installing because last I heard they copied and pasted code from crDRoid.
At the end of the day I reverted back to stock because of security concerns. As well as having more ram available for apps. If I had more than one phone phone I would wireshark/test connections of the ROMs to confirm but I do not have. Hopfully this helps someone.

Just wondering with the ROM testing, did you disable the LiveDisplay nonsense? It drops my FPS to about 10, and is enabled by default.
Sorry, didn't read your whole post. I didn't find UI stuttering unless I enabled weird kernel stuff, or had L Speed installed.
Does anyone happen to know if any of these ROMs fix the problem that the official MM caused which was that all camera apps created a very dark image and took extremely dark photos?

Im using crDroid and yes, it fixes it. That is one of the main reasons why I decided to keep it and got rid of Marshmallow.

Hmm... sounds good. Any issues with that ROM? Slow downs, wonky USB port, minijack works ok, etc?

sucktastic battery life (not like the original firmware was good to begin with) no compass (gmaps will point north regardless of your orientation) as soon as you install the google app (okay google!) the device will run a bit slower.

Oh, ok... well in that case, that doesn't exactly help things. I'm gonna go back to Lollipop rooted to take out the bloatware. Can you recommend a way of doing that that is known to work well?

SP flash tool, scatter file and the original firmware (not a flashable zip). It's all in the original BLOX thread, buried somewhere there. Flash TWRP recovery using adb fastboot and flash super su with twrp recovery for root access.

Wow, thorough, thanks. Don't know what half those things are but I'll look them up. I guess there's no way to go straight back to Lollipop without flashing a stock ROM. I mean, by rooting it now maybe and then downgrading or something?

You could flash a lollipop twrp backup, if anyone uploaded one or if you made one before. But if you don't have it, only way is by sp flash tool and original firmware (which is not a recovery flashable zip).
Been using the Crdroid rom for a few weeks now. Havn't had any lag or extreme battery issues. Im interested in trying the resurrection remix rom since it was tested to be the fastest, tho them security issues are kinda holding me back. One thing im lookin for is front camera flash and back aswell. on Crdroid u cannot toggle it in the camera app, tho the flash works.

What are these security issues people are mentioning? Isn't a ROM a ROM? I don't get it.
Also, if crDroid works fine, you could just try any other camera app. There are several that are quite good. I wish there were videos of crDroid.

I mean with what's going on with Kaspersky being investigated for allowing certain trogens to work undetected and Kaspersky is own by Russians and since when does fm radio need root access.
Just a bit sketchy you know... But it could be just over-thinking it.

Looking for good stock based rom with XZ1/XZs features

Hello Z5 Users,
Bought my Z5 3 days ago and I like this phone so much.So today I installed M-Rom with XZ1 features. All nice but phone even in idle keeps being hot and rom doesn't recognize sim card.Is there similiar rom that doesn't have that problems?
Cheers
Okey guys put this in another way.Has anyone facing with issues on 2.3 version M-Rom like:fingerprint sensor is inaccurate, phone lags when entering into battery settings and my phone is hot where is NFC logo on back of the phone even in idle.
Tried flashing again .54 fw than M-Rom,deleted bloatware from rom and still nothing.
Any help is appreciated by me.

Hello bro this happened to me quite recently too with simcard problems as i too also got the phone quite recently and installed that rom i have it now working perfectly the only way i could fix it is by wiping the phone totally and installing stock rom. Then i install twrp then install the xz rom. Even though its a long process it works and to fix heat issues and improve battery life which my battery life is perfect download from these links
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...d-fsc-1-0-dont-sacrifice-performance-t3670586 by @korom42 now this may slow down your phone a bit but i am running all games with no lag so it isnt a problem for me and i game quite a lot i have installed fsc+ which helps with heat quite drastically especially with this rom, download 2.2 version even though its for stock it also works for non-stock is you read what he says in blue. And also download this https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...-lxt-xperia-tweaks-legendary-battery-t3676698 also by @korom42 make sure you have rooted with magisk and you need to install busybox install it in system/bin not system/xbin and install kernel auditor and for all settings press apply on boot reply back to me for anything else
