Hi Guys,

Indecisive Sprint customer.

So I have had the Epic 4G since it came out over 2 years and with how much it chugs, the terrible battery life, and the now cracked screen, its time for an upgrade. I've been holding out for Google to announce a new Google phone but it doesn't look like there will be a Sprint version for some time. I'm currently debating between the S3 or the Note 2 but not sure which. What does anyone else think? There might be other phones I'm missing but I've heard really good things for both of these.

Bump for some advice

I would go for the note 2. That's my next phone but I'm going to Verizon for it.

[Q] Nexus 5 Verizon radio flash

I purchased a Nexus 5 and I know that it doesn't support the VZW lte band. My question is, doesn't the Nexus 5 have the same SoC as the LG G2? If so, does anyone think they can get the LG G2 radio flash for the VZW version to work on the Nexus 5 to make it work with VZW?
It may be possible but may brick your phone. But this is a message I got when I put in my Sim card. Not sure if it helps at all.

OK that is very interesting is that the only message you got?

I found this and have been making posts on this thread. Someone else has the same idea, but no one has seemed to have tried it yet.

Short lived life for my nexus 5

I have had a bad experience with T-Mobile witch is causing me to sell my nexus 5 . since I have a grand father plan unlimited data T-Mobile said they don't support my nexus 5 until I change my plan to a new one with throttles. As much as I love her its up for sale. 32gb nexus 5 . just thought I'll share ..why is T-Mobile doing this !!!

FYI, I read a while ago that tmo plans to move every one off of those plans and "bring them into current pricing." Might be worth keeping the phone and just changing to a current plan. You can still get unlimited w/no throttling. I have unlimited every thing for $70 w/ no contract and I don't think anything is throttled. You would have to do it at some point, might as well look at what will work for you. Good luck!

T-Mobile still has unlimited data without throttling, why not go with that?

What do you mean they don't support it? Please explain?

This. i dont understand what you mean by unsupported.
my nexus 5 works quite fine on tmobile.
How much are you selling it for?:silly:
How would T-Mobile even know what phone you are using? I mean obviously it will show on the network but I highly doubt they are flagging nexus 5 phones and making sure only some people are using them.

Leave nexus for HTC M8

Now that we get dual booting and Google play edition phones. Based on rumors of the new HTC One. Would it be wise to sell my N5 and go to the new One? If waterproof. I think I will have to. Always been a dream to have HTC and Vanilla.

I think you just answered your own question
The Google play edition HTC and Sammy phones look vanilla but aren't. They still have proprietary frameworks so don't expect the fact they have GPE to mean AOSP development will be any better

Oh really. I didn't wanna here that. I like my options open to run whatever I want with lots of development.

I know what I wanna do. Just getting more input. Lol

Honestly coming from a Droid 3 I love the amount of development on this device even though I am still on the stock ROM. Nexus devices the rest of the way please.

I just wanna know how good the aosp development is for HTC one. Always wanted a hyc stock phone. How could it get any better.

Read the aosp roms threads in the current HTC one forum

It's never "wise" to buy a brand new phone 5 months after the last one came out. However it's your money, spend in on what you want. Just don't expect members of one phones forum to recommend another phone.

You will have to sell 2 nexuses actually.
imo, the the new HTC ONE seems like going where SONY Xperia z2 and SGS5 went that LG didn't go.
I mean too big body in proportion to the screen size.

It's more than 5 months old fyi - 19th Feb 2013 to be exact..
----------------------------------
I used to use MoDaCo on my old HTC One which (I then swapped for the Note 3 (still have it) and I have an N5 now), had the option of flicking between Sense and GPE - It worked, but as posted further up development isn't that great for the One.
Amen on the price. And not worried about size. My N5 is big with a ballistics SG maxx case.

Just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat. I would like to have the speakers and camera of a new phone. And a few other little things.

[Q] App/mod/tweak to get portable hotspot free

Wondering if there is any mod/tweak to get the portable hotspot for free on T-mo. I'm rooted running the stock rom. I know there are some apps out there, but I don't how well they work or if they're reliable. Thanks in advance for any help.
Are you asking for help to steal Wi-Fi tethering from your provider?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I guess so.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
What plan do you have for Tmo? I have unlimited data which comes with 2GB tethering but the representatives told me I can go over and it won't slow down. And so far, it hasn't.
Have you tried tethering?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
no such thing exists.
and, on top of that, you cant get help from xda to steal.
