Indecisive Sprint customer. - General Questions and Answers

So I have had the Epic 4G since it came out over 2 years and with how much it chugs, the terrible battery life, and the now cracked screen, its time for an upgrade. I've been holding out for Google to announce a new Google phone but it doesn't look like there will be a Sprint version for some time. I'm currently debating between the S3 or the Note 2 but not sure which. What does anyone else think? There might be other phones I'm missing but I've heard really good things for both of these.

Bump for some advice

I would go for the note 2. That's my next phone but I'm going to Verizon for it.

It's a pretty even bet too me, but i don't pay attention to phone prices and other content, but I've always wanted a nexus phone, lol. They seem so pure and have alot of development for them. But I'll say what i say to every other person with a question relating to yours, it's up to you.
Sorry if i didn't help and just wasted your time.

I moved to a Nexus S a little over a month ago from the Galaxy S 4G and to me it was a great move. ROM development is definitely a good plus. I found it to be snappier than the Galaxy S 4G.

I think the only downside is the loss of 4g data speed. Other than that the nexus s is a better bet. Plus it is getting ics. I would go for it. If you don't like it I am sure you will find someone willing to trade again for it.

Upgrade

Hi everybody, it has been 24 beautiful months with my HTC evo 4g and I have upgrade opportunity (sprint) I have flashed around 30 ROMs and I'm still in love with this phone, any ideas of what sprint phone will make a very good upgrade I just don't want to upgrade to a phone that is going to disappoint me since my evo hasn't.
A lot of people tells me that I should wait for the iphone 5, I'm not really sure, thnx in advance

EVO 4G LTE or Galaxy Nexus or Sprint Galaxy S3
Those are the top phones on Sprint right now,

IMO, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is the most beautiful and exciting phone I've ever held. Until I played with that for a few minutes, I was positive my next phone would be an iPhone. My DROID Charge is about a year older than the S3 and I couldn't help but think of what a difference a year makes. That difference was enough to convince me that the Android is much more fun to own. My phone is a hobby, always a progress in motion. For better or worse.

I would suggest to wait for the galaxy s Note 2 . Been waiting for it to come, and from what i heard the spec are quite high, its the like enlarge version of Galaxy S3.
Samsung galaxy s3. Go for it.

Thnx for ur comments, how's the galaxy s3 battery life, is it a built in battery?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
It's not built in and the S3 has GREAT battery life, people are reporting 20+ hours with moderate use.

What phone would you get if you gave up your S4?

As title states, what would everyone be shopping/holding out for if you were going to get rid of your S4.

I'd probably have the note 2 or a nexus 4
Sent from my SGH-I337 using xda app-developers app
Probably an HTC One.

Thinking of going to the hipster crowd I had s3 and just got an s4 and this one is very lagging
If Apple came out with a 4.5"+ screen I'd go back to Apple in a heartbeat. Alas they fail to listen to the crowds who want 720p+ and higher screen PPI or larger screen.
well my backup phone is a note 2, but I won't see going with a sideways exchange so would wait for a note 3 if anything if upgrading when it comes out

Heard that the iPhone 5s is going to be a 4.2" but that's just rumors. I ran iOS 7 beta on my iPhone 4 and loved it.

Oppo find 7 running CM 10.2.
And I have an HTC One. I really have mixed feelings about this phone.

Yeah I'm up in the air, hate the bootloader situation if I do sell my Active I will run my S2 untill something better comes along, just put the $ in my sock drawer for the "next big thing"

Note 3 (5.7 in screen) or GSM HTC Butterfly S w/LTE... i have the non LTE (but HSPDA+) version. it's the HTC One without the aluminum casing, same LCD screen but 5 inches (vs 4.7), same camera with a 3200 mAH non-removable battery and a microSD slot. the Butterfly S convinced me to give up my Note II, but not my S4
Nokia 3260. With the aftermarket light up antenna and battery. While rocking the fur Elise ringtone. Had every ifad until I got the og note. I couldn't see ever going back. To restrictive on everything. I still remember the black home screen wallpaper, non MMS sending iPhone. Everything that's iOS has that's good was ripped from android (multitasking, notification center, etc).

When I bought my S4A, I did so under the premise that it was only meant to hold me over until the Nexus 5 (or whatever the next one will be called) came out. However, I'm finding that I really like this phone (once I rooted, made some necessary tweaks, and got rid of all the bloatware).
Now, I'm thinking that the next Nexus is going to have to really sell itself to pull me back. Of course, if the next update irreparably removes my root and cancels all my changes... then the N5 will be looking shiny again.

Leave nexus for HTC M8

Now that we get dual booting and Google play edition phones. Based on rumors of the new HTC One. Would it be wise to sell my N5 and go to the new One? If waterproof. I think I will have to. Always been a dream to have HTC and Vanilla.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I think you just answered your own question
The Google play edition HTC and Sammy phones look vanilla but aren't. They still have proprietary frameworks so don't expect the fact they have GPE to mean AOSP development will be any better
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Oh really. I didn't wanna here that. I like my options open to run whatever I want with lots of development.

Honestly coming from a Droid 3 I love the amount of development on this device even though I am still on the stock ROM. Nexus devices the rest of the way please.

It's never "wise" to buy a brand new phone 5 months after the last one came out. However it's your money, spend in on what you want. Just don't expect members of one phones forum to recommend another phone.

You will have to sell 2 nexuses actually.
imo, the the new HTC ONE seems like going where SONY Xperia z2 and SGS5 went that LG didn't go.
I mean too big body in proportion to the screen size.

It's more than 5 months old fyi - 19th Feb 2013 to be exact..
----------------------------------
I used to use MoDaCo on my old HTC One which (I then swapped for the Note 3 (still have it) and I have an N5 now), had the option of flicking between Sense and GPE - It worked, but as posted further up development isn't that great for the One.
Amen on the price. And not worried about size. My N5 is big with a ballistics SG maxx case.

Just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat. I would like to have the speakers and camera of a new phone. And a few other little things.
