[Q] Google voice integration with native dialer and messaging apps - General Questions and Answers

The Tree there any apps i can download or mods i can flash that will allow me to integrate google voice calls with the native dialer and Google voice sms with the native messaging app?
I'm using Google voice as my sole call/sms functions right now as I've ditched my carrier recently.
If it helps I'm running rooted cm 12.1 (android 5.1.1) on a formerly verizon lg g3. Also running xposed. Currently running calls / texts through hangouts.

Standard SMS, GVoice and Talk in 1 inbox?

is there a way to have all messaging in 1 app? i have a google voice number, but i don't use is anymore. just use gvoice for the visual voicemail. i use talk for chatting and the stock messaging through my carrier to text non-google friends. would be nice if everything was in 1 app.

[Q] SMS via messaging app shows as Google Voice number

I'm not sure if this is a new google feature or an issue on my end.
I use the native messaging app to send out sms to certain people to display my carrier provided number and the google voice app to send out sms to other people to display my google voice number. i discovered that regardless of using google voice or the native messaging app(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507720), it was going through as my google voice number (e.g. google voice and/or native messaging app sends sms as google voice number). this is what i originally thought was happening until i discovered that if i send an sms with the native messaging app to another user with google voice installed, it goes through as my google voice number. if i send an sms with the native messaging app to someone without google voice installed, it displays my carrier provided number.
*obviously if i send an sms from the google voice app, it shows up as the google voice number*
i'm not exactly sure how to fix this. i could be completely wrong in the scenario above because i've only tested it with several other friends. i have made no changes to my google voice web settings, nor my google voice app and native messaging app.
any help is greatly appreciated.
i'm on verizon, gs3 android 4.1.1
even with google voice uninstalled and the phone rebooted, sending from the native messaging app sends through as my google voice number
bump
anyone?
Install the Google voice app and in the app settings. Click on send text through app instead of through phone messaging app. This might help

alternative google voice app?

I want to use MIUI on my note 2, but it makes google voice crash. are there any google voice alternative apps out there that can handle both texting and voicemail? I know fusion messenger can do texting but I don't believe it can do voicemail, so it's no good for me.

Lollipop Messanger and Google Voice (replacing hangouts integration?)

So the question is... now that Lollipop comes with a stock SMS/MMS solution (messanger), will Google be retooling/thinking how it integrated google voice SMS and MMS into Hangouts?
Ideally, I'd like to have my Voice SMS and MMS now sync with the Lollipop messanger app.
Anyone else have thoughts on this/know what the plan is?

I just hope they give it a quick reply function like the AOSP messenger app.
Pretty sure it only has the stock Messaging app as it's still the preview and none of the GApps are pre-installed. The Nexus 6 has GApps so I'd imagine the Nexus 5 version will too

Can a Voip app replace the stock dialer?

Hello
I have an LG G6 phone, unrooted, running Android 8.0. I use an app from my voip service provider, Fongo, for calls and texts. To make use of voice commands, dialling by clicking on links in webpages, etc., it would be useful if this app could replace the stock dialer.
LG seems to have disabled access to the Android SIP client, so I can't use that, and the technique of using shortcuts to these dialer settings doesn't work for me either.
Use of voip is increasingly common, and the fact that voip calls cannot be handled via the stock dialer, with all the integration that that implies, is quite a shortcoming.
If anyone knows a way around this is be pleased to hear. Thank you.
