Album art on lock screen - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Using stock music player (don't particularly like Poweramp), is it possible to get full album art on the lock screen? When the S6 first came out, I used my friend's and it didn't appear to be an option - I wondered if it's now possible?

I think if you use the Google music app it displays full screen art.

It's possible, but not with the stock player. Use Playerpro, it has an option to display album art on the lockscreen..

I have tried using PlayerPRO but it still locks like the stock player and every other one. And before you ask yes I did have the full version.

It's in the settings. I don't know why it doesn't work for you. It works for me. Ohh well...

I would love to find out how to enable this feature on mine too, I miss it from my note 4. I'm using the galaxy s6 edge+ on the latest update.

I have player pro and it works dine with player pro, but I've grown to like the ICS music app. What would I have to name the files? And is there a specific extension? Cause I have a folder with artwork with an unreadable file extension

I had the same issue with the native Music app.
I couldn't see the covers after using Album Art Grabber etc.
But after I cleared the data of the music app, it fetched all the artwork.
So after using the art grabber, you should go to settings => apps => All => Music. There you push the button 'Clear data'. So you DON't have to do it all manually...
Good luck!

Why? There is a widget in the status bar whenever you listen to music ... I don't see a point for it . You can also look into headset controller and set the controls with double press of the button etc

[Q] Lock Screen Music Player Controls

I posted in the original thread of the ROM I'm using but I got no answer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602216
Basically, either on the default lock screen or the AOSP lock screen I flashed, none of my music players (which are all supposed to have lock screen controls) have any. Rdio, Spotify, and the default Music Player app - none of them display the controls. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
None of them will work unless you use the sammy lockscreen. poweramp works fine for me with the default
I use mixzing and it works great.

I haven't personally used the aosp lock screen, but from what I read it breaks music controls.

Turn Off Google Play Music Artwork Lockscreen

Hey everyone. My music library lacks decent album arts, and I was wondering if there is any way of getting rid of the full screen album art on the lockscreen and instead just having my regular wallpaper? Thanks in advance.

You might be able to use a different music player that overrides the original music widget. I think the feature looks pretty good if you have high quality artwork. Either manually change the artwork or go into Google Play Music on the computer, edit album info and use Google's suggested artwork. Perfect quality requires 1920x1920+ artwork.

In other words, there's no way to do it without using another app.
Tbh I really like having the full screen album. Anyway, try some the third party apps from playstore which should replace your default lock screen music player.

Why not get all the album art. There are very good apps in playstore for this ie album art downloader. Even gives you the choice of cover if there is more than one. Filled all my holes and I've obscure tastes

Doesn't the lockscreen pick up any music player that identifies itself as a music player? Apollo Music Player does, anyway.

There is an xposed module:

working fine
thanks man
Just what i was looking for works great thanks man
how to turn off google play Album Art Lockscreen
go to settings->Sound & notifications-> App notifications-> select google play music, then select "block never show notifications from this app"
This will remove the lockscreen wallpaper, unfortunately it also removes the lockscreen music play controls.
Hope this is helpful
Shuttle music player now has an option to hide artwork from the lockscreen natively.
Shuttle > Settings > Display
Not really a resolution but you can block the application from the notification in Sounds & Notification like what I did with my Spotif, I want to see my lockscreen wallpaper instead of the album cover. You can go next and/or previous song via the headset remote.
Does anyone know if xposed will be updated for 6.0?
It is really damn annoying Google does not allow for granular settings like this music artwork wallpaper.
I just want my background and the music controls

Lockscreen music controls

Hi everyone!
I've looked and seen that some of you had troubles with the lockscreen music control. I'm on B162 and have the same problem as you guys do; I was just wondering if this problem got solved with an update since the B162 or if you guys still have the same problem.
Thanks a lot!

Yeah but what I hate about the Stock Music App is that there is no "Genre" tab, and i'm someone that loves just selecting a genre and listen to whatever I have on my phone. Also, I'm trying Spotify Premium for three month (there was a promotion that costed me 1€ for 3 months), so I don't really use anything else.
Any other ideas?

what I ended up doing was just installing Microsoft's "Next" lockscreen app from the play store, and enabling the setting to "use password lock only".
It's a workaround, but it works well (works with fingerprint unlocking and doesnt make you have to unlock twice, usable media controls with spotify and all other media apps)
just make sure you grant it every possible permission, battery setting etc and it should work fine. its not like the huawei lockscreen was really any good anyway.
With B320 lockscreen music controls show album art from Google Play Music, in previous versions that did not work, so maybe other apps will work too.

Lock screen music widget.

I wanna know if it is possible to change this. First pic is the initial lockscreen then if I tap the music widget it changes to second pic. Anyway to get the second pic as the initial lockscreen.
I use samsung music app and I like the look allot better than Google music player. It displays it just like this on the on the lock-screen

Where did you get Samsung music app? I only have google. Tried to export the one from my S6 Edge+ with no success.
Play store
Thanks. I tried to search for it but nothing showed up 2 weeks ago. Strange. Now it does. Thanks mate.
