Hello again,
Well this file is a bunch of files which make our android work properly in this case miui its a connection between the hardware and software of any phone if your are developer you can use these files to port a new version of android to our device without waiting for the official release like there is cyanogenmod 12.1 which is very effect ROM lollipop based with help of these kernel source we can port a CM ROM to our device and get rid of miui and explore other aspects of lollipop so basically all you have to do is wait unless some developers who will be kind enough port a ROM or us then you if want can use it

Woah, that's great news. Always believe something wonderful is about to happen. :good:

Android L custom ROM availability for XL?

I just installed SlimKat on my phone and it's lovely! Feels like I can use my phone for another 12+ months haha
What are the chances of getting Android L based custom roms like SlimKat, Paranoid Android, OmniROM, etc. for the XL? It would work like butter on XL.
Android L (Lemon Meringue Pie, Lion, etc.) is not even out yet, and when it comes out all the developers will start working on 4.5 5.0 L ports. Some developers already slowed down their work with KitKat as they are wating for L.
don't expect that xperia L will get android L after a few days once it officially release
xperia L is legacy device so it will need months of work to get it because of the changes in the new android version

Why is it a legacy device when it's officially supported in CM, Omni, Slim, PA and many other ROMs? It may not be high-end, but I'm sure it will get L.
When? That depends on the developers and their experiences/knowledge and... The amount of spare time they have.

If it officially supported that's not mean it's not legacy
The new futures in android L need good hardware
Take the encryption as example
Will our phone be able to decrypt and encrypt data on each boot ? i hope that...
i didn't said it will not get L but it will need time to get patched and the only who will be able to do that is varun
Thanks

Nope, a phone with an MSM8930 S4 SoC can't be considered legacy at all (besides CM don't like legacy devices).
And I also doubt that only Varun is able to do that (no offense meant), we already discussed that weeks ago in a similar thread.

Just reading this review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8231/a-closer-look-at-android-runtime-art-in-android-l makes me drool.
What are the skills required to do what Varun did? I wish I could help in any way possible. (I don't think I'll be able to actually procure those skills in time though haha but hmm)
An update like L is exactly what XL needs. The difference between it and a high end device will reduce.
I love you @Olivier ! SlimKat is a blessing. Haven't tried any other ROM but that's because from what I have read, SlimRom is the lightest/most fluid of all. Waiting for updates and a possible fix for the wakelock thing.

Xiaomi Mi5

I am interested in waiting for Mi5. But can anyone say as to the ROM development for Mi5. I typically prefer to flash CM12 myself, and other variants like Pandandroid, Liquidsmooth, etc, and going to Mi4 dev, there's not much develpment.
there is a proper AOSP rom which is better than cm12 which is bloated and not as good as it used to be.
AOSP + exposed is the way to go.
Mi5?? How can anyone know about the development of a non-existent device?

Agreed, tough to tell.
Just wait for it to be released in the following months.
Surely someone will develop a CM12.1 variant for it.

Got my device (included with a boat-load of Mi bloatware) via a friend coming from China; Installed Google Apps using an app available in Mi store; Google Now Support or Integration is just zero. It brings up some Mi search engine (looks like); Camera does not seem that impressive to me, but may be I need to keep trying all other options too. I see the chinese stuff here and then. Other than that speed, eye-candy-UI, look and feel seems pretty good. Couldn't wait for a stable and latest CM version. Any idea where we can get the drivers-source-code for MIUI 7 and 8 ? May be I can start working on a Marshmallow-version for Mi 5. Any pointers would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Please don't answer, if you don't know about CyanogenMod 13 for S6. There are many developers, which are working since a few weeks. If you look into CyanogenMod code review, you will see they are working on it.
I know about that they are working on on xda but is it can be on cm installer ? No cm they dont care about exynos

Just NO!
CyanogenMod is working on support S6 for CyanogenMod 13. As you can (maybe) see, they pushed a lot of commits to Kernel, Vendor, Device and RIL.
Just please stop telling other members wrong thing, if you don't know about it.

to be fair that guy is right, very few developers working on cm13 for the s6 and they dont collaborate between them...there are no open sources for the exynos 7420 but this doesnt mean its impossible to make cm13 for the s6.

Tazaga, did you donate money? Do you help creating the rom?
If so you can complain. If not. Plz, just gtfo and shut up because they are doing it in there own free time without getting paid much. They are making the rom even for pricks like you.

LOL my s6 is almost dead i have this home buttton problem doesn't click like before no more :'(
Yup. Developers don't get paid anything. People can donate, that's it. And if any of You want a new build, do those:
1. Get the source.
2. Build it.
3. Enjoy
2a. Build it every day to get small upgrades.
3a. You can fix things by Yourself.
Coding and fixing stuff isn't easy. In my opinion pretty much only geniuses can do that. What's even more complicated? Writing code for something without any documentation or anything.
But that was a little off-topic.
I think we will see some cm13 public updates till july. (Or I hope at least lol..)

Ah ok, that's ****. But i am not sure if that problem is software related and probably a CM 13 rom wouldn't fix this issue for you. Better you go to a shop and maybe they can repair it. You can also try one of the custom stock builds by other devs but like i already said, it sounds like a hardware issue to me...

Thia, is a main basis for confusion to platform alone since none of them collaborate they ALL suffer somehow & in some way..... It's really disappointing for the end user & frustrating now since most are eagerly awaiting the s8 & you can't even find fresh stock development (at least on the edge+).

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro ROMs

Hey guys,
I recently got my Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro (please pay attention that it is not the Note model).
Is anyone planning to develop and ROMs for this phone or is it still a bit too new for that? I would absolutely love if there was a stable version of CM for this to be honest. It has awesome hardware and the only downside is the software to be honest. Im currently running the stock Chinese ROM and its not that good.
Thank you for the answers

Unless the kernel source code is released by Xiaomi, no one could develop it.
