Wipe to sell - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Something tells me I'm not in the correct spot to ask this, but I'll try anyway. I'm selling my Oneplus to a local cell store. I'm running a Calkulins cm 5.0.2 rom. How can I safely wipe my personal info and accounts or the phone and get it back to the rom setup like when it was first flashed. I would appreciate any advice. I also will have no computer access to do this. Hoping I can do it through TWRP. Thanks for the help.

Best way to update??

Okay, I read on here every day on my cell and can't find the answer to my question. I, like alot of people have a stock, rooted, unlocked phone and want to update to the latest OTA. I would like to, if possible, do this without Odin.
I was wondering if they're was a file like Scott's stock Rom that could be dirty flashed over stock without any problems? If there is no other way, I plan on using Odin to get back to stock after I relock the bootloader, take the update, and then reroot, unlock, etc.
The big reason that I would rather do it without the computer is that I am on the road 90% of the time and don't have access to a computer. I depend on my phone for GPS as well as entertainment, so being without my phone isn't an option for me. Are there any options?

I am the same way and would like to do it without going completely back to locked/un-rooted/stock. I was able to find a ROM that Scott just updated with the new VRALG7 from verizon here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892670
This will apparently update your phone to the new baseband and leave you stock/rooted.
Hope this helps!
Yeah I read that, but there are some bugs. I wonder if anyone has tried a dirty flash?

I just did this, I downloaded Scott's latest vralg7 on my phone opened and flashed. It works awesome haven't had any probs yet. BTW I'm stock rooted unlocked that's it.

Did you just wipe cache and dalvik cache or do a full wipe?
What I ended up doing was a full wipe and flashed CleanROM 2.5, which is based on the new VRLG7 updates. Then I flashed the new VRLG7 radio form here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-of...zon-sgs3-sch-i535-odin-or-recovery-flashable/
Titanium backup took care of restoring all of my apps and settings.
I am curious about this as well. I sent him a PM and will let you know if he replies.

I sent him a PM and haven't heard back yet. I have read more on this and evidently, flashing on top will not update the framework? Does anyone else have any ideas?

You just want to make sure you don't accidentally lock your bootloader and reboot since you will get the Verizon unauthorized software message which is also fixable but..

Okay, I purchased mobile Odin pro, what is the way that I need to do it? I have not seen a guide for that application. Also, will I lose everything on the phone and have to restore everything if I do it this way?
EDIT: I think I can probably wing mobile Odin, I can't find the new image file to flash. Does anyone know where to find it? I looked on Samsung updates . Com and couldn't find it.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Can I ask why you guys want the update anyway? I'm also on stock/rooted/unlocked and all I did was freeze the apps called 'sdm' and 'fwupgrade' and there's no chance for it to update to the OTA. I hear all it has is dumbed down search and a Verizon remote-help sort of thing.
It blocks a security issue and is different framework from what I understand. I would lock the bootloader, unroot, OTA, and then redo everything but will not be around a computer until tomorrow at the best.

After reading the posts on Scott's CleanROM 2.5, that's what I am going to do this weekend. I will feel a lot better knowing I received the most up-to-date software from Samsung as the framework and then customize my phone the way I want. Plus, that's what a lot of the more experienced posters have been recommending, and for a noob like me, it would be dumb for me to not take their advice.
Thanks for getting back to me about the cache wiping question!
No worries, good luck!

[Help] Unroot Nexus 5

I have recently purchased a used Nexus 5 off Swappa and I am curious about unrooting the phone. The main reason I am curious about this is so I can receive the 4.4.3 update when it comes out. So I have 2 questions: 1) Do I need to unroot the phone in order for it to pick up the OTA update? 2) How do I go about unrooting the phone? I have read about many different ways and would like to know the best.
Thanks in advance!
Please go to Nexus 5 general forum. All your answers are in the sticky threads

Keep the phone rooted and enjoy! And wait probably a couple days after the ota for a stock ROM or files to flash.
Ota's are for non nexus owners.

I'm with kj. Roll with man. Only reason I'd unroot it is if the person that did it didn't do it right and your having connection issues etc. Enjoy ur new to u hammerhead

If you want to unroot you will have to remove all of the necessary files, which can be a pain if you have other things such as busybox installed. And no, you will not be able to apply an OTA if you have modified the firmware (from my experience, having root will block installation via the stock recovery).
The easiest way to restore your phone completely and be ready to accept OTAs is to restore the phone using a factory image found here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?csw=1
Unzip the file and open the .bat file to automatically flash the images, keep in mind that it will wipe your sdcard and factory reset your phone.
Will flashing the ROM when it comes out delete all my data? I'm a bit new to all this.

if i am wrong someone please correct me.
the OTA update does not delete any of your data.
as another user said you can download the current stock image from google server and flash it. it will delete your data.
you can download and open the stock image and fastboot flash system.img and boot.img. this way you are ready for OTA update but will keep your data.

Updating a ROM... Help Please!

Some background:
Nexus 5
TWRP
Purity Rom
I currently am being prompted for an OTA that I have been told here will either fail completely or mess something up. So I would like to update my ROM (purity) from an older version to the newest version that is fully updated to 4.3.3.
BUT!
I have spent the last few hours trying to find out how to actually update to the newest update to the ROM without wiping the device(apps configuration, and settings). To be honest im only assuming its even possible.
Can some one please point me in the right direction or give me some more info on this.... Thanks a lot.
The help is appreciated I am new to this....
You can try and dirty flash the newer Tom. It might work and it might not. Make a nandroid first and backup with titanium backup too. Worst case is you have a lot of fc's

Formatting doesnt help at all

I have recently rooted my nexus and i immediately downloaded lucky patcher to patch some games. After a little bit it was boring to have everything owned and i resetted my phone to factory settings but still everything was there. No back ups, new acc made to sign in, wiped cache, dalvik cache and format. Nothing worked. How can i delete EVERYTHING in my phone? I want it to be like a new one. Any suggestions? Even when it says welcome and select language the language is in Greek (my region). Its driving me crazy.
EDIT :Also Flashed stock rom but with no success

I think I some how messed up the radio settings I was reading on this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...t/modem-nexus-5-flashable-modems-efs-t2514095
what I'm wondering is if this is the case if there is any way to fix it or did I make a paper weight
You can never make a paperweight of this phone) Might take time but it's fixable. Going to read the link. Don't worry
BTW do a hard factory reset. I lost my SD card, camera etc. Tried all the ADB commands and a full reset solved it. Means loosing everything but I think it will do it

Read it. When my camera went and the ADB commands went I dug a deeper and deeper hole. I changed permissions moved files. I did everything you should not. I was convinced I'd a paperweight. When you flash a rom there is an underlying system that runs the rom. A lot of crucial stuff is stored there. Thats why I say do a full reset. I'd made a real mess. I did the reset not expecting anything. I'd messed it up so much but it made it like new. I was so darn happy! Do it and get back. Gonna help in anyway I can because I know exactly how you are feeling

What custom recovery u got? If you have TWR go into it. Press advanced wipe. It will ask you to type YES. Do it.
Or in phone menu go to Backup & Reset. It's there. Good luck. Sorry for the delays but I'm in uk and my fiancée is in USA. Saturday we video Skype all day but I'll keep an eye on you
