[Q] question about phone driver and Odin in windows - General Questions and Answers

I'm working on un-bricking my SPH-l710 S3. I am trying to use Odin in the process. I am wondering if odin is recognizing my phone. I included an attachment showing Odin and my device mgr. If the zero is before the port # does that mean the computer isn't recognizing the phone? I downloaded and installed the newest samsung drivers. If anyone know how I can fix this I sure would appreciate it!

Make sure you have the newest drivers installed on your pc..
1st make your phone go to download mode/odin mode then only your pc will recognize it...
(Press vol button+power button+home key simultaneously for going into download/odin mode...
You can find the full guide here http://andysolution.blogspot.in

I can't get the bootlaoders to download to the phone It fails every time. I'm going to try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369125&page=1 I guess and see if I can get my phone back working again.

I think you should try universal adb drivers for your pc or u can download kingoroot app for your device in pc because when you install kingoroot app to your pc during installation process it will automatically install your phone drivers to your pc
Or you have to update your odin to latest version

I got the drivers to work now in Odin but when I try to load the boot loader I keep getting a fail. I originally tried to fix my phone, not booting in to recovery, by using Kies. Kies tried to download something to the phone when it booted to download mode the phone boots directly to download mode and still won't boot to recovery. Now I'm going to try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369125&page=1 to fix it. Unless someone can tell me a better solution.

Try pulling battery
Replace battery
Hold the volume down button while plugging in a usb cable (already attached to computer) into the phone...
See if you can get into download mode
Were you using odin or heimdall to go back to stock?

phone is not being recognised by the pc so how can i use heimdall
So can you not get into download mode?
I can get into the download mode but when I connect the phone there is no response from the computer
I've been trying to get people here to download mobile Odin lite and run it...send their file to chainfire so our device could get the support for it but....I guess they just don't understand what we are missing out on.
I've sent him what was asked for but if others wont jump in and do their part....I give up.
All he asks for is a .pit,a kernal, and the mobileodin.txt that is generated from the mobile Odin program
I think you need to connect your phone in download mode go into device manager and delete all the drivers under the USB section and try these steps
TwitchyEye said:
1. Go here and download heimdall suite.
https://github.com/Benjamin-Dobell/Heimdall/downloads
2. Extract and open drivers folder.
3. Connect your phone in download mode.
4. Run zadig and click show all devices, your phone should then show up in the list.
5. Click install drivers, it should say drivers successfully installed.
6. Try running the heimdall one-click of your choice.
7. Go back to step 3 and flash it again this time with bootloaders.
If it still fails, uninstall whatever USB drivers you have (one guy says he had to uninstall all of them, usually just the phone will do) reboot the pc and try again.
Actually you should go ahead and do this last thing first.
Godspeed

No its in magda623 thread in general where he claims it works on his phone .
Its basically Odin on your phone so you can flash back to stock for what ever reason....whether returning back to bml from mtd or a soft brick etc. Without having to hook up to your computer.
Lol no it won't brick you it simply creates a txt file that you send to chain fire so he can see what he needs to do to make our device compatable.

[Q] Apx Device and USB device not found. Please help!

Ohkay I am trying to restore my g2x using oneclickrecovery. I successfully do all the steps until I click on flash stock rom. I'm the beginning, when my hold both volume up and down and plug it in to the computer it will not say Apx Device. It would say like USB device not installed. But then I follow the steps anyway and it says Nvidia boot for mobile devices then I take it out open oneclickrecovery then I select flash stock rom. There would be a blue window and it would say USB device not found. I would look at my phone it wouldn't say S/W upgrade.
Is there anyone who can resolve this problem? I need my phone back.

I am assuming you have taken out the battery before the two button APX mode connect attempt. Try that if not. Also the first time you connect in APX mode you have to wait until driver install fails, then install the driver manually, then reconnect and it should work.

[Completed] HELP me unbrick my GT-I9300

Hello xda members
I have an GT-I9300 device which stucks on TWRP Recovery (teamwin logo excatly) and flashes about after 4 or 5 seconds.
No twrp options , my pc doesnt react when i plug in my phone , only download mode available and an SD Card.
Can i unbrick my phone or not ?
Hello,
Yes, you can flash your stock firmware through Odin 3.10 and fix your device. Look in the thread linked below for instructions, if the download link for your stock firmware is dead then try going to Sammobile.com and search for your stock firmware using your model number GT-I9300, download it and then follow the instructions below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/restore-to-stock-rom-galaxy-s3-i9300-t2187081
Good luck.
styno said:
Hi,
you can recover the GT-I9300 completely with Samsung's own Kies. It will ask for the serial number of the phone and will download all files needed and flash it for you.
You'll end up with a complete stock phone (but with latest modem )
Good luck!

Power the device off (pull the battery, then put the battery back in), then hold VOL DOWN + HOME KEY + POWER KEY
Once in download mode plug into your PC. Also make sure that you have the Samsung drivers installed. Check your device manager on your PC to make sure Windows is seeing the device.

Since then I've been trying to find a way to run pubg on my phone.I found a post instructing to edit the build.prop file.....I changed the model number in it..still Play Store was showing it incompatible...so i replaced the entire build.prop file of my phone with that of a compatible phone(GalaxyJ7).The phone was working fine...but when I restarted it it wont boot up...stuck on boot logo...
I'm able to enter recovery and download mode.

Did you have USB debugging enabled in settings? If not, that may be why you can't get Odin to recognize your device.
Have you tried using the Samsung Kies or Smart Switch software to perform an emergency recovery?

Yes bro debugging was enabled..but never mind I solved the problem...my phone is working now...
I read somewhere that if Odin isn't recognizing your phone ...boot it in download mode connect USB and then remove the battery.... Still Odin didn't ..but my PC recognized the device (do you mind telling me the logic behind this?). Then I switched to Linux and did the same 'battery removal' thing on Heimdall ...and it detected my phone and I flashed Twrp successfully. Then flashed a new rom and its working perfectly now
