Compass on my OPO is off track.
I realised using Google maps with no navigation enabled and verified with gps status app. Tried calibrating with no avail.
Anyone?

Hi, my problem is that every time i turn the screen off the gps goes on. If i lock the screen and turn it on after five seconds the gps icon is active on the status bar.
At first I thought it was some misbehaving app, but now I've frozen almost all apps using the permission ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, but the problem is still there.
The application using the gps appears to be google maps, is this behavior normal? I don't have latitude activated, autosync is off.
I keep gps on because I have seekdroid installed and on gingerbread apps can't self-enable gps
You don't per chance have Tasker installed or some other location based widget on your home screens do you?
If you do have a location widget working (Like Lattitude or Loopt) there is probably a setting to check to tell it not to automatically turn on location.
I can't seem to find the compass calibration in location&security settings.
Was it moved somewhere or is there a hidden option needs to be activated or something?
Hi there!
I would know if there is a way to lanch car panel with another gps software which is not google maps, I have sygic installed and I would like that the car panel lanuch sygic instead of google maps, is there a way to make this possible??
no one, really??
On mine, the last setting in the settings menu is default navigation program and I'm guessing it will show any nav program you have installed.

anyone know what the name of the turn by turn navigation app is on the stock tf101?
Does anyone know who makes it? Is it a google app or an asus app? was it discontinued?
and finally does anyone know of the apk is avalable for donload somewhere?

The navigation app was a part of Maps. When Maps updated to version 7, the nav icon disappeared. You can now just open the Maps app and tap the curved arrow on the right of the search box to get turn by turn directions.
If you really want it back you can uninstall updates to the Maps app and disable automatic updating and you can still have your nav icon.
Turn by turn is still there, it's just been merged into the Google Maps app. It's a huge improvement this way. Previously, Maps and Navigation were two separate apps, and the transitions between them were jarring (going from maps search to nav was ok, but clicking back out of nav dumped you to the homescreen, losing your search). They each had their own app cache, so you'd be waiting for the maps to load twice, etc... Seriously, the flow of the new Maps app is way better now. I've been using it daily.

I had installed xda navigation control app but I uninstalled it as I didn't like it (ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS). After uninstalling, the navigation bar disappeared but still the gestures were not disabled. I tried reinstalling and uninstalling the app again and also tried to restart my phone but it didn't do anything. Please help me out.
