One plus one showing 2gb ram - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

II just bought a brand new one plus one. This is my second one, first one broke. But after updating to 05q update my one plus one is showing 2gb ram. If anyone could help me I'll be really glad.

Did you buy it from original Oneplus Store?

Yes this was bought one plus oneone this Monday and I received it on Thursday. Which was yesterday. I noticed this because my phone was slowing down and when I checked the app usage it showed 2 gb ram and 200 free.. If this was my first one plus one iI should have had 800 mb free and never slowed down.

I think that you must create a RMA Ticket at Oneplus.net Support to send you a new one.

Yes, that's not normal.
It should be 2.7-2.8GB....
I don't know, but you could try to flash CM12(.1).

I've read that installing 5.0 rom brings back the full 3gb ram. But the problem is I don't want the 5.0 rom it just isn't for me. And I have just created a ticket. Hopefully they will send me a new one that will show 3gb ram on 4.4.4 Kitkat..

You must ensure that your phone has 2GB or 3GB RAM. Beacuse if it is a Software bug try to flash again CyanogenOS 11S with the ToolBox V5 .

Could you send me the link to v5 thanks

I have the same problem, have you sloved it?

is there a solution?
I see this in both my mom's phone and mine. mine was bought from the US web site of 1+ and my mom's from a store.

Thank you, waiting...
I'll tell you what I tried:
1. I did incremented update to 28K up to 44S, didn't work.
2. I updated to CM12 and I got 3GB, tried to flash (fastboot) 44S image and it got back to 2GB.
I don't want to be on CM12, heard Android 5 is not that good, worse power consumption and bugs.

My phone is suffering from this bug, Oneplus sux, with kitkat roms you only see 2gb of ram, rma tickit is useless because they will tell you to install the latest OS, which is lollipop, end of story
The only way you can get kitkat rom with 3 Gb of ram to install xnf9xbs28k build which is a developer edition rom but work fine, but you cant use custom kernel with it. Hope it helps a bit

That is partially true, I had xnf9xbs28k and only 2GB (after upgrading to CM12 I had 3GB), but I want 44S.
My wife has xnf9xbs28k with 3GB and I'm afraid to ruin her phone by upgrading to 44S.
I'm waiting on @Shery4life to see if he has a good solution that enables me to stay on 44S.

Hi all, this is the reply I received from @Shery4life
"the solution is to install your preferred ROM, I have 44s 4.4.4 ROM installed on my phone (44s has a good battery life for me)
after installing the ROM you want to install the developer ROM which has 28k
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5hqTua_uHEiVVdSZlltZ3ZiNms/view?pli=1
After installing your ROM just install the developer ROM and you should have 3 GB ram,
also cm12 is really buggy and I wouldn't use it for daily use!
Backup everything on your phone and do a clean install of the ROM you want to use,
basically reset your phone and do a clean ROM install and after installing the ROM install the developer ROM on top and you will have 3 gb back."
I still hope there is a solution that involves having 44S ROM installed.

I still have 44s and I have 3gb ram. After installing the 44s just flash the 28k Rom right on top of it. And your phone will stay on 44s despite and also you will have full 3 gb ram.

So what's the procedure. Did you dirty flash the 28k?

No its just the way it works. Try it and hopefully you should have 3 gb ram.
I did flash the 28k on my rom and I had bad battery because of bad flash, but I did had 3 gb ram. so I deleted everything and did a clean install and flashed it again and I had 3 gb ram again

Im having the same problem, installed 44S rom and boom, 2gb ram , after that installed 28K rom over, but instead of staying on 44S with 3gb it went to 28K but now with 3GB, so whats the magic to stay on 44S with 3gb ram ?

The step I took was I installed the 44s rom with wu fresh toolkit and after that I installed recovery and rooted my phone and once my phone was on and after completing the first time set up. I copied the 28k Rom on my phone and went into recovery and flashed it and after flashing I cleared cache and rebooted

Price check?

Hello everyone. I just wanted to check to make sure im getting a good deal here. Someone is on their way to me with a 32gb tf300 with dock, car charger, and boxes in supposedly near perfect shape. Is $280 usd still a good deal for a 32gb version? They will be here in an hour so any quick feedback is appreciated
Also, I know the screen isnt as good as the tf201 which I previously owned, but ill primarily be using it indoors to watch netflix on rather than my note 2. Im going to guess its more than fine for that purpose right? Ill likely be NRGizing it

Oh well. Bought it anyway. I'm surprised no one chimed in though. Seems like 280 to my door delivered was good enough. Just unlocked the BL / flashed twrp / and am running NRG on it

Thats exactly what I was looking for. I wasnt sure how much the 16 and 32gb are going for Looks like I did get a deal indeed as mine is the 32Gb model ! Right now im running NRG's rom though. It was fully updated to 4.2 when I got it but luckily I found the TWRP specific to it that worked. I may take the time today and downgrade it though. Im not sure if its the BL or what but this thing is terribly laggy. It was worse with Cromix than with nrg's. Ive read everywhere that people recommend doing the fastboot downgrade to 4.1 ( to get 4.1's bootloader i assume ).
Thanks all for your input

When i buy any electronic device on craigslist, i use the manufacturer's method for wiping it completely clean and starting over. For you, that would be factory reset from TWRP (include wiping internal sdcard) fastboot the latest official blob file from asus, flash TWRP and then install the ROM of choice. You never know what the other guy did with/to it :/

/agree.
Already done my friend When I first got it, it was bone stock but fully updated to 4.2. Stock worked smooth but Cromi and NRG seemed to jitter / hiccup when i FINALLY got twrp working. Im thinking it had something to do with the bootloader and rom combo. I just used FB and went to 4.1 and installed TWRP 2.4.4.0 as that seems to be the combination that works well. Im currently downloading Cromi again to give it another go. What kernel are you using ?
Right now im sitting on stock 4.1.1 build 10.4.2.20 with TWRP 2.4.4.0

Im running the Stock moddified 10.6.1.15.3 kernel on my own ROM. Granted there is SOME jitteryness, but in all honesty, it more than likely is the app. Facebook especially, it tries performing background tasks to update your news feed, and im not sure whats with them but they fail to use the dual core and higher of the device. 99 percent of the devices are dual core or higher, i find facebook to only wanna use the main core -.- causing the most amount of lag.

I think for now I will use stock rooted 4.1.1 with Unters Kernel. It seems to run pretty smooth. Much better than any other alternatives ive tried so far. Why did Asus have to make things difficult >.> Roms specific to bootloaders..... ugh

Is anybody still using Z3 on KitKat 4.4.4?

Like in the topic.
In call volume is the main concern.
Thanks
I'm still on KitKat... refused the Lollipop update. No issues with in call volume... definitely loud enough.
Same here. Never was a fan of lollipop's look. Still snappy since i got it first few weeks it came out. Battery still strong. No probs with in call volume either. Notification volume is louder from what i read also.
As it turns out, speed difference and real world performance is nil if any. Looking back, kk may be the windows xp version of android, light and quick vs heavier fancier more features of newer versions to come.
Check it out!

Hi guys, just bought a 6653, i'am about to root it via firmware downgrade, and wonder, after root, should i flash :
the last KK 4.4 23.0.1.A.5.77
OR GO FOR
the last LP 5.1.1 23.4.A.0.546
Does it really worth upgrading to 5.1.1?
Thanks for your answers, cheers
Iam also still on rooted KK, runs perfectly with Greenify and Amplify. Up to 8h DOT with 70% Brightness on 3 Days.
Never change a running System.

I downgraded after trying lollipop. My reception is 100% worse at home and also got the mobile radio active bug when out and about on data on both 5.0.2 and 5.1.1. Shame, because otherwise the OS is really slick and smooth. Oh well.

Lollipop was worse. I tried fullwipe installation of 5.1.1 but still had those issues mentioned. When I downgraded I had an old TWRP backup so I just deleted everything but storage in TWRP and restored the backup and it seems to be fine for me. Though flashing an official FTF 4.4.4 might be better to just make sure but I'm a bit too lazy for that right now lol.
Im on 4.4.4
Love it. But I would like to try 5.1.1 on my D6616... Can't find a pre_rooted flashable.zip though.

I just downgrade my Z3 from LP 5.1.1 to KK 4.4.4. Yes, use that method from that link. But be extra cautious while using the Flashtool to downgrade to KK 4.4.4. REMEMBER to WIPE App Info, Cache and User Data at the top right of Flashtool. I forgot about it and my phone went to Bootloop problem. Had a hard time on figuring out on how to stop the bootloop. If anyone forget about it and went to bootloop, just totally switch off the Z3 by pressing power + up vol together. Then run Flashtool again. This time round don't mind about USB Debugging etc cause you cant go in anyway.
Almost 3 weeks on Kitkat 23.0.1..5.77
Its very fast and smooth, wonder if LP would give me any improvement (or disadvantage) ?
I'm also back on KK after 5.0 and 5.1 stints. I had all the classic problems associated with Lollipop whereas KK is rock solid.

help! install rom stock Android M to 1GB ram in the 2GB ram?

You can install the Android ROM Stock M model 1gb ram in the ram 2GB model ?
There any error or fault if I do ? help me

There is no rom stock Android for M 2GB RAM xt1542 and I want to install 1GB
All I can tell you is that somehow during the official soak, I got the 2 gb soak on my 1GB XT1540 and it ran fine. I kept it on there until I flashed the correct rom. I can't guarantee that it would work for everyone.

Memory leaks??

Recently bought this XZ first handed but without any UBL or rooting it comes with a horrible memory leak (>95% average RAM usage and Android System (Native, Kernel, Caches) accounts for almost half of the reading)...
I am assuming that Device Encryption should be the cause for this behaviour but I just don't want to reset my data just to disable Device Encryption..
Are there any of you people also have this problem on .35 and apart from resetting my phone is there and other measures I call take to control this leak?
Thanks!
