Unable to log into premier inn wifi - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had this issue in all premier inns I've stayed in.
Basically when I've tried searching for the premier inn WiFi. My nexus 5 finds the WiFi and connects to it OK.
But here is where the fun starts.
Once I'm connected the WiFi asks me to log in which I go ahead and do.
Well try...
As soon as the log in page loads up. Within a second the page disappears and brings up an error sign. If I try pressing back its keeps doing the same.

That's the sign which I keep getting.
I've tried it on the free premier inn and ultimate and still does the same.
I know this is a issue with other nexus 5s as well.
I've spoken to the provider of the WiFi which is arqiva (think its spelt like that). And they couldn't help.
If I use the WiFi as it is with out logging in this is what I'm greeted with when I try to access the internet.
Any help would be appreciated.
I've tried lots of different settings and ways around it but no success.

I've had this bug since 5.1. Self-signed certificates are throwing this error only when clicking on "Sign into WiFi Network," and there's no clickable items on that page.
I tried downloading the self-signed certs from another machine and was able to successfully import them into Android, but I'm still getting the red lock icon.
What I was able to do is - on another machine - get the URL for the network's signon page and save it in your chrome bookmarks.
Next time you get the red lock icon on the signin screen, click on the menu (three-dot) and choose "use this network as-is." Then pop open chrome, click on the bookmark for the network's signon page, and sign in as we used to be able to do.

can a Chrome browser plugin steal my Google password?

i am looking for a way to schedule sending emails with my Gmail account. i came across Boomerang for Gmail which does exactly what i need it to. it installs as a plugin for Chrome browser and once installed, when i compose a new email in Gmail account, right next to the "send" button, there is now a new Boomerang send button.
what i need to know is if plugins like these can steal passwords. i know i should have thought about that before i installed it but it didn't occurred to me until after the fact. thanks for letting me know!
if permissions include access to cookies it can

They can easily steal your password if they're active when you type it in, but not after that.

As far as I am aware, unless they have some sort of keylogger, they cannot get your password, per-se.
However, (As also mentioned above), if they have access to cookies, they can login in your name. Additionally, some sites have the ability to hook in with google, and get "access" to your account if you approve it.

I could quite easily write a Chrome extension that popped up a window with your username and password in it, but it would have to capture them at a login screen, and not with a keylogger.
An extension has access to every control on every page that it is running.
Chrome would tell you, when you installed the extension, that it could access your google username and password though, so it could never do anything without you first allowing it to. Saying that though, there's a lot of people that just click 'Okay' without knowing what they're clicking!

Dolphin Browser: Rearranging Icons on New Tab Screen + Delete Hot Apps Tab

Hello All!
I've been a long time Chrome user and now I'm trying out Dolphin HD. When configuring my home screen, I noticed 2 things:
1. There seems to be no easy way to rearrange the tabs that you've added on this screen. Is there some sort of add-on that allows you to do this?
2. There is a tab that says "Hot Android Apps". When I long press it, it doesn't give me the option to delete it. Does anybody know of a way where I can get rid of this? I already deleted it from Bookmarks but it didn't transition over to the home screen.
If you're wondering what screen I have been talking about this entire time, here is a picture of my home screen:

If anyone has any bright ideas, please let me know. I looked into the add-ons but haven't found anything yet that will allow me to fix this!
Also, is there anyway that you can make it that when you hit the Dolphin icon that it pulls up just the page you were on before? Every time I do it it opens up a new tab. I've changed the setting in Lab --> On Startup --> Open Previous Page and still no luck.

Unfortunately the only way I have found to return to the page I was on before is to hit my home button rather than "exit" or back out of Dolphin. The main reason I use Dolphin is for the gestures, it makes it so easy to go to a bookmarked page.

Check your settings to see if it was turned off - power down & reboot it, try again.

Check if your Location settings isn't off!!
It's never worked for me even with the Nexus 4. Google Location Reporting is on. Location is on and is in Battery Saving mode which uses my Wi-Fi connection to locate my phone. Their app is hopeless so I now use an app called Lookout which is a lot more reliable than the Google one.
Changed the Mode to High Accuracy but still no luck locating my phone!!!!

Notification problem on Facebook App Tap Login Screen

Hey guys, I have a problem I cannot seem to figure out.. Probably a week or two ago I stopped getting logged out notifications, I use the Tap login (saved password login) where it shows your picture and you tap it once to log in, the problem is it no longer shows the red dot with the number of notifications waiting anymore. Here are the things I've tried.
Going to APPS in Settings and checking that "Show Notifications" is enabled, which it is.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Went to in-app Settings and Notification Settings (assuming that even has any effect on Logged out notifications I'm not sure if it does or not.) Still appears to be ok settings.
Other things I've tried:
Clearing FB app cache.
Clearing FB app data.
Unintalling FB app completely (including files left after uninstall)
Reinstalling FB app.
Clearing Cache from Recovery Mode.
Factory Reset from Recovery Mode.
None of which has fixed the problem.
Here are some details that may be useful:
Phone: ZTE ZMAX2 (z958)
Android OS Version: 5.1 Lollipop
Facebook App version: 180.0.0.35.82
I thought maybe FB broke something in one of their updates or something but everyone knows FB has next to nothing as far as support, they do have the "report a problem" on facebook but you always get an automated reply and never really know if your getting anywhere by reporting it. Also the developer email on google play but again with so many users I imagine the amount of support emails I doubt they are able to monitor them efficiently.
Anyone have any ideas whatsoever as to what the problem could be? Could it be an android setting somewhere that is blocking the apps logged out notifications? Or possibly app not syncing?
Any help would be appreciated.
bump... Anyone?

Question Location Reporting Issue to Google Maps Timeline

Hi all
Hopefully this question thread is not break the rule.
Just trying to find some info and help from the community. Thank you.
It's been a while that I realize this Flip 4 have different behavior related to location reporting. As previously use Xiaomi and Realme, I never have this issue. At first, I thought there's something wrong with my Google Maps setup, then I 100% sure it's because of the phone, as I change back to my old phone the issue is disappear.
If you go to Google Maps timeline, it will show you the location history of your phone. With Flip 4, my journey is almost every time showing straight lines, it should be showing the road I drive, not straight lines like flying. See attached image.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
What I did so far
- Location allowed all the time for Maps and also Google
- No battery/background restriction
- Power saving ON or OFF doesn't matter
- I intentionally open Maps and not closing it
Nothing is working, Maps timeline still showing straight lines every time I commute.
I try several phones using same account, it's positive something wrong with my phone.
Permission usage history also showing there's very minimum background usage of location, it should be periodically reporting location.
I have been using galaxy series long before maps have this feature and i thought this is normal, on every phone.

Thank for replying, but as my experience is not like that.
This is how Maps timeline look like when using Realme phone back then.
It showing the drive path, following road not straight lines like previous attachment.
