[Q] downgrade Desire S with Android 4.0.4 Is it possible? - HTC Desire S

I have Android version 4.0.4. S-ON and hboot 2.02.002. I want to root the device and use a custom ROM. As I understand from forum the first thing I have to do is to downgrade the hboot to 0.98.
Is it possible for me to downgrade, root etc? Could you post the link to the easiest solution (I really confused by tonnes of info).

Good luck with that.
I assume that you already know how to do this.
You must have a custom Recovery for you to flash ROMs initially.
Note: This ROM must be using an UNMODIFIED build.prop and the OFFICIAL boot.img of RUU HTC_EUROPE_2.10.401.5

Are you s-off or HTC dev method? Assuming you are s-off, did you upgrade your firmware? If not go here and follow the instructions.firmware

[Q] Guide to DOWNGRADING from Android 4.0.3 to 2.3.4 for Sensation

Could anyone help me by giving me few steps towards doing this? Once I complete is successfully I will edit this and post a full, detailed guided for anyone else looking to do the same thing.
What I have:
-HTC Sensation which has the latest Android update (never rooted, never changed from anything default)
-I downloaded the RUU 1.5... TMOUS
-I saw that I need to do a bootloader from HTCdev on my phone and Install Android SDK
Can anyone PLEASE give me a little better guide on what to do exactly?
Often people just say "its in the forums, here's a link" and the link will take me to a million other links and explanations. Very confusing and I wasn't able to find a good explanations for us noobs.

Well it is very simple Imo... You need to get a gingerbread ruu and run it in windows nothing else... That should be enough

Thank you, but unfortunately it is not simple for me. I got the gingerbread RUU, but what do I need to do on the computer, cell phone part?
Thanks again!

You need to double click on the RUU and follow what the program indicates

JuopunutBear to S-OFF. Flash GB RUU
All you have to do is run the RUU. Make sure your PC has the appropriate drivers for your device and HTC Sync. I had to restore a few times using the stock 1.73.401.4 RUU for my Sensation XE, and that is all that I had installed. I can verify that root is not needed in my experience although I did have S-Off.
I hope this helps.
Don't need HTC Sync installed. Just need the drivers. Not sure if RUU comes with said drivers. Need to be S-OFF to downgrade hboot. ICS hboot is NOT compatible with GB (1.23 is, but that's not what's included with the latest RUUs).
Without S-OFF, you CANNOT RUU back to GB.
If it were so simple as flashing GB RUU, we wouldn't need JuopunutBear
downgrade is very complicated.
root the current ICS and install recovery
Juopunubear S-OFF (require htcdev unlock and root)
downgrade firmware to 1.17
flash GB rom or run GB RUU

my same problem .. if you can let me know
Try skanob's, AFAIK its the only one that works for your hboot version.
thanks but I have question - is there temp root for ICS RUU? I dont want to unlock bootloader and loose warranty
No, there is no way to downgrade hboot 2.02.xxx without unlocking the bootloader (and losing warranty).
can you give me link to flashable superuser?

Do as suggested and READ. All the information you need is out there and people are getting more and more fed up with the same questions being posted every three days just because people are too lazy to look for themselves.

Help!!!! Hboot 1.27.0000

Hey Guys im trying to root my sensation and im doing the revolutionary steps but i got this on the screen of the revolutionary soft
Your Device: pyramid, with HBOOT 1.27.0000 is not supported at this time. So does this means i cant root my phone at all?
Please someone who can explain me more about this?? or guide me to another direction of doing this??

no i havent and im on 4.0.3
Revolutionary s-off DOES NOT work with hboot 1.27. You have to user junuoput bear s-off by unlimited.io
By the way, s-off is not the same as rooting your phone. Read the link that was posted carefully.
Also, 4.0.3 is not your firmware version, it's your android software version.
