I rooted and installed custom ROM on my Kindle Fire the other day and everything has been working great. Everything was completely functional (aside from not being recognized under computer because of a driver issue, I side loaded the programs) including charging from USB to PC and wall.... until today. The battery is getting low (14%) so I plugged in to both PC and wall and it will not charge. It was charging fine only yesterday. I tried rebooting a couple times. Still functional but not charging. I went into TWRP mode, still not charging. I have no idea what else to do and the battery keeps discharging. Help please!
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Your best bet is to ask for help in your device's specific forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire They are the experts on your devcie

My tf101 stopped charging when I updated to ics. After the first rom I flashed wouldn't recognize being connected to my computer via usb for storage I downloaded and flashed the version from this threat (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1334673). The usb storage works fine now but my device won't charge at all while it's on. I know it won't charge with the screen on connected to the pc. But this isn't that. Even plugged into the wall it will not charge unless the device is turned off completely. If it's off and I plug it into the wall it boots up and doesn't charge, I have to manually shut it down while it's connected to the wall charger.
Any ideas? Any help is appreciated.

I was having that too. I was like wtf.. Lol I found that plugging it in and then maually turning of the screen, and then unplugging it and then plugging it back in would turn the screen back on and then it would charge while screen was on. I thought my cord was die'n. Lol
I'm having this to. what's the cause. what's the fix. what the hell....
after nandroiding revolver 4.00, I wiped and flashed EOS nightly. then it wouldny charge. I super wiped with script and restored nandroid and still no go unless I shut down manually. i m starting to think excessive flashing is detrimental to this thing. I already have issues with speakers between OS's out of the blue.
anyway why no charge? help is appreciated.

Have you tried trickle charging from your PC?
That will not work
I've had trouble with mine picking up that the charger has been plugged in as well. I'm happy to get ics but Asus does need to update some of the bugs.
Hi,
I have a TF101 as well. I cannot get the screen or dock to charge. I've tried everything suggested on this thread but to no avail.
I really need a solution to this. I've switch off the tablet for now since it's down to 18%. I've not tried the erase data option yet, does anyone know if this would help at all?
Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
iMy tablet would only charge when off after flashing an ics rom. After much research and near nervous breakdown, I did a lot of research. Mostly on asustransformerforum where there is an extensive thread about this. Since it would charge, just when off, clearly it wasn't the device, firmware (cuz if flashed different roms) or the cable.
With help from the aforementioned forum, I realizd it was the charging brick.
I went to best buy and got a dynex universal camera and camcorder charger that is adjustable to 11.0 v, which is the minimum that the tab will recognize while on.
It is now charging. Charger was 30$
Hope this helps

I checked the voltage on my charger and made sure the cables were ok - fiddly job. After they checked out ok (as I was certain they would) I did the full factory reset and cold booted a couple of times.
All of a sudden it just started charging as normal. Yay!
I can only assume it was an app that was causing the issue though i have no idea which one it may have been.
If in doubt - factory reset - is the way to go it seems.
Hi!
I posted the same question in the general Q&A section and now I try to paste it here hoping that someone can help me.
After the 4.4.2 update, my device started to work in a strange way.
If my Note is on and I try to charge it via the PC, nothing happens and I cannot charge it, but when I switch it off I can easily charge it.
I also tried full reset and reflash, but the problem is still there.
Transfers, sync, Kies work fine, so I think I can exclude a PC related issue.
Any help is appreciated.
A PC USB port doesn't provide enough power to have the tablet charging while it's on, no matter what firmware you're using.

Like the dude said pc equals 500 ma, factory charger equals 2000 plus ma. And with tab on only part of the 500 ma goes to battery. Always fastest to charge with tab off.
I have been using Cyanogenmod for a while, and after installing a series of buggy nightlies, I decided to flash it back to stock. However, once I did that, I am now unable to charge my phone. Now when I open Odin and put the phone in download mode and connect the phone it recognizes the phone and let me reflash it. However, the phone is not being recognized otherwise by the computer and hence it is not charging via computer as well (It is only being recognized by Odin when in download mode)
The only time I was able to charge it post stock flashing was just after I flashed it, but that's just once. It wont let me charge again. I flashed it again, the same thing happened, it let me charge for the first time post flash, but not more than that.
It also charged a second time post flashing when I left it plugged in to the wall charger overnight. When I plugged it in, it did not show any sign of being charged or any LED indication as well, but when I woke up in the morning it showed my battery had 100% (without the thunder sign on the battery icon, I removed and plugged it back in, it did not charge again)
Sometimes, when I plug the charger in, the LED glows, but the battery icon in the notification does not show a thunder sign of charging, however when I open the battery details, it shows the battery as charging, but in reality, the battery simply drains. This too happens only sometimes not every time when I plug the charger in
Kindly reply if anyone has any solution
Edit: Not sure if this was the right place to post this, would be much obliged if anyone can show me the right place if this is not it. Thanks!!

If you turn off the phone completely and then plug it into the wall then it has to charge irrespective of any software or Rom. If it still has a problem charging when powered off, then the Micro USB has gone flaky on the phone.
Thanks for the link

I have submitted it in the Note 2 forum as well. I have tried different chargers and USB cables, none seems to work
Since You have posted in the Right forum, that would be the best place for the right experts to help you.
Hey guys.
Got a big problem. My OnePlus One 64gb doesn't charge anymore. When I connect the original power cable, the led shines up for a very short time and then disappears. The percentage isn't going up. The icon in the statusbar whereas indicates that it would charge.
Currently I'm on 36%. I've powered off the device and plugged it in to the charger. But it seems that it isn't charging in this state too.
In the official OnePlus forums there are several other guys experiencing the same problem, but no solution was found.
Is there any help for me?
A USB connection to the PC seems to be impossible too.
Please help me guys. I need my phone!
Thanks

Need a little bit more information on your phone. Rom, kernel, any mods etc etc.
Have you tried different combinations of cables and plugs??
I would suggest backup all your important files now, so you won't be panicking when you phone has lost all charge.
Then, try a factory reset and see if they works.

Hello all
I dont know the right place to ask about my problem so I apologize in advance.
I own an Leeco Le X600 phone and up until next week it was working fine.
A new marshamallow came out and I updated it gtom lollipop without an issue.
This weekend everything changed.
I wanted to copy some pictures to my computer so I plugged the USB cable and nothing happened.
The phone vibrated but didnt recognize the usb connection nor the computer recognized the phone.
I decided to reboot the phone hoping that would fix the problem when I first encountered the problem
The phone would boot to the logo screen and then reboot again in a continuous loop.
I tried to get into recovery mode thinking that I would reinstall the firmware 15s but the logo would show Recovery but it would just reboot.
I finally figured out that plugging the USB cable to either the computer or charger the phone then reboots normally (in recovery too).
I have since done factory resets, reinstalls of the firmware with no change in behaviour.
The phone was unusually warm all the time and today I charged it to 100% and basically just let it sit unplugged without using it all day and the battery was empty in about 7 hours.
So its safe to say that the battery is busted.
I can order a replacement battery, they are not very expensive but my concern is that while that should fix the battery life would it fix the other problem with the USB connection and booting issue?
When the cable is plugged the phone vibrates which indicates to me that it recognizes it but it just goes into charging mode and doesnt give the options for data like I simply plugged into the charger.
I have tried different cables and different computers.
Anyone has seem anything similar and know if a battery replacement solved the issue?
