Remove Cell Standby SM-G920I? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

a few days ago i was using Ultra Power savings mode and the battery % would only go down by 1 every hour or so but since then i have reformatted and flashed my phone with stock firmware G920IDVUAOC4 due to a soft brick when trying to install TWRP.
now today, i used ultra power savings mode and now my battery is horrendous, thanks to cell standby, apparently (see attached photo)
any ways to improve battery?
i've reformatted a few times since purchase.
is cell standby the actual problem here?
any help is greatly appreciated

battery dead ? *** PROBLEM SOLVED ***

I've got a att fuze that was working perfectly then all of a suddern (after giving my girlfriend crap about her iphone battery lasting crap all time) my phone just started to heat up and the battery drains in 10 minutes.
i will only chargte to about 60% overnight and not turned on....
then it will lose 15% on a reset and today it dropped from 45% to 4% in 2 minutes.....
when it is on it heats up near the camera lens.
Is there something stuffed on the phone or is it the battery?
it was working perfect then all of a sudden 2 days ago it just started doing this.
ive tried new roms and radios and it still does it ive taken the sd card and sim out turned it onto airplane mode and it still does it.
just wondering if its the battery or the phone and if anyone else has had this problem.
i got the phone off ebay (in perfect condition worked like a dream till this) and it has no warranty.
Thanks in advance.

After putting on usb for 4 hours to get it over 50% and flashed the new ATT rom onto it and then it seemed to be fine. then put energy 6.5 on.
The night before I was impatient and flashed it by forcing boot loader (so it didnt have to be over 50% charge, it was on 24% i think) and running the flash program. next day once it got to 92% it started.
I would of checked that battery but these phones are very uncommon here and everyone i know has an iphone....
so word of warning MAKE SURE IT HAS 50% CHARGE BEFORE FLASHING!!!!
this easiest way to see if it's the battery or something in the phone that's causing the issue is to try another battery or different phone with your existing battery. that would be my first step in troubleshooting.

Try changing your radio ROM to a different one. When the radio is constantly searching betweem 3G and EDGE it heats up and will stop charging.
Make sure you Security Unlock your device first and follow instructions from the Wiki.

Nexus S 4G extreme battery drain when powered completely off

I don't get it. This morning on my way to school, I'm using my Nexus, sending a couple of texts and listening to music, yeah. So then when I get to class I power my Nexus S 4G off, I'm talking about holding power and pressing power off, off.
I turned it off next hour and my battery literally drained itself from a good 95% charge this morning to a 63%. The hell happened here? The phone wasn't even on!

I've seen this a couple of times, vampire drain so long as the battery is attached (phone on/off irrelevant). Never got down to the root of the problem, i believe everyone who has had it ended up calling up samsung to get this sorted as it would be a hardware issue no doubt.
However, do test it again, as follows.
Control Test:
-Take battery out of phone, noting charge
-Sleep
-Put battery back into phone, noting charge
Vampire Test:
-Turn phone off, noting charge
-Take out battery, wait 2 minutes, replace battery
-Leave phone off and sleep (for the same amount of time preferably )
-Put battery back into phone, noting charge
No touching the charger 1 hour prior and before turning on. If there is a noticeable difference between the two tests, call samsung ASAP. Hopefully you're still under warranty.
Definitely a hardware fault

I have exactly the same problem and proved it to be hardware thanks to your vampire test. (This was only after scrubbing through new apps I had installed to see if they were the cause, scrutinizing battery stats, installing a couple of different ROMs, and complete factory resets and everything - nothing solved it.)
My phone was working fine, then one day, a few weeks ago now, I noticed a sudden battery drain and instead of a day's worth of moderate use, it wouldn't last 5 hrs. Finally did the vampire test after seeing this post and discovered that with the phone completely powered off the battery would drain to nothing in < 6hrs. I verified this behavior with two batteries. The phone gets quite toasty as well, so it's got to be some sort of hardware short circuit causing a constant load on the battery.
Samsung said "send it in for repair" - I haven't done that yet, need to find out what that might cost compared to a new phone. (I'm using a company supplied phone meanwhile.)
Too bad, because I loved my Nexus S - perfect size and shape compared to all the new mini tablet phones out there.

[Q] Battery drain issue

Hi.....
I am new on XDA.
Need help regarding battery drain issue on Samsung Galaxy I9103. I am using this Smartphone since November 2012 with default stock ROM and found it a good phone. No Root, no custom ROM flashed ever. But recently I faced the battery drain issue, sometimes it is worse. I change the charges as well to assuming that my charger is not charging battery properly but result was same.
I was about to change the battery. But today mobile is delivering outclass performance again which is very surprising for me. Last day I charged my mobile 3 times and every time battery drain out so quickly on idle / stand by mode.
Last night I charged the mobile about 65% and switched off. Then in morning I charged it again while mobile was still switched off and unplug the charges when battery was around +90%.
Question
1. Whats wrong with mobile?
2. Should I change my battery?
3. Any other issue.

the possible reason cld be,
1. some backgrnd process running constantly
2. device not going in to deep sleep when screen is off (requires root to check )
3. cld be a faulty charger or faulty battery in worst case scenario.
but i suspect reason 1 or 2.
if u r not rooted, very liitle v can know the cause of your problem

Hello
Good day.
Please review yesterday performance image. Most important, when I gave nap around 7-8 hours to my mobile, it is delivering good battery backup.
Further I was searching on net to regain Li-Ion batteries for smart phones and got following. Kindly validate this method.
Disclaimer: This should be used only if you believe there’s been an obvious decline in your battery life.
As promised – here is one method for bringing trusty dusty back to life
1) Turn your phone on and charge for 8 hours or more
2) Unplug the phone and turn it off, then and charge for 1 hour
3) Unplug the phone turn it on wait a couple minutes then turn it off and charge for another hour
Your battery life should almost double.
The logic behind this method is that your phone runs on battery power all the time even when its plugged into the charger. One side of the battery gets charged while the other side is keeping the phone on. So…if your phone is on while charging it never gets charged 100%. Doing this once or twice a month should recalibrate the battery and bring it up to full usage.

Battery drain

hi,
i've a Huawei Watch 2 LTE, since 2 days i've an insane battery drain, I did a factory reset, I connected the Watch back to the phone and leave it in airplane mode, here the battery usage in the attach
any suggestion?
thanks
Fabio
I have a Huawei Watch 2 and am having the same issue. I used to get almost 2 days use with the screen in "always on" mode then a little over a week ago it abruptly started draining the battery in 2-4 hours depending on the power saving modes I used. I have gone through all the usual remedied (factory reset etc.) without effect.
I fully charged it and just left it on the night stand just out of curiosity and it used 20% in 24 hours.
I would really like to know if any one has any clue what happened, software update or otherwise, to have caused this. I really love this watch and have become quite dependent :'(
I bought a battery replacment, i will install next days...i tried also some custom rom, all day with airplane mode, in 10 hours, battery 5% left....
