Vietnam S6 soft-bricked upon flashing 5.1 update ! - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am creating this thread on behalf of @k_kasadze, who was seeking help from me using pm.
It looks like he has soft-bricked his Galaxy S6, whose model no. he says is indeed G920F without any doubt, by flashing the 5.1 firmware. I find it strange, because he did get PASS message on Odin, as shown by the screenshot below.

Can anyone help? As far as I know, you cannot downgrade after flashing 5.1.1. And you can't install TWRP either. Please correct me if one can install TWRP, in that case, he could restore from TWRP. I think he can still boot into download mode.

Ask him, to boot into stock recovery and clear cache + factory reset

When I'm connecting in download mode the smartswitch says that device not supported, samsung driver is installed
factory reset didn't help

What version of odin did you use? Its recommended to use the very lasted version. That made the difference for a guy in another topic

I used 3.10.6 odin and I can't bring that in service center it's not on warranty. Is there any downgrade option? or anothe 5.1.1 tar to flash?

Are you sure it's a 920f? Mine was made in Vietnam and is a 920i

After installation that rom you linked me did this bootloop anyone knows when will be other region 5.1.1 roms available approximately? will it be during 1 week or so?
Before I installed france 5.1.1 I've installed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/development/vnrom-s6-g920fxxu1aocv-v1-0-aroma-t3088154

tried a lot of times but I think there is something not flashed correctly. But after finishing the process odin says 100% pass.

SOLVED - bootloop after installation france 5.1.1 on G920F
SO who has similar problem I fixed the problem this way.
1) flashed TWRP RECOVERY 2.8.7.1 via ODIN
2) downloaded custom rom XtreStoLite-2.0-Odex-Pure-ROM-Final-XXU2BOFJ
3) flashed it and my phone is alive plus root and TWRP recovery

I have no idea what to do...
So I'm in the same situation as you, I was doing all sorts of flashing and stuff but something went wrong along the way.
So I have the very latest twrp installed and I connected to my pc, yet I can't move files over for some reason.

OK so I was on the unbranded S6 920F and as the signal was pretty bad thought I would try the H3G latest stock firmware .on Sammobile.
I am on 3 anyway so hoped that using that firmware the modem may have been better. I did the usual and it failed at the end of the cycle same as you.
Did that several times and tried with smart switch, wasted loads of time then tried the first one that was released for 5.1.1(France) and it passed and booted normally.
Not a clue what happened maybe the H3G Rom BOfj was a corrupted file, though very unusual from sammobile.
Edit.
Ironically the signal actually appears better on the france 5.1.1 than befor on AO3 5.02..will update after a few days

FIXED. Lost serial number // Galaxy S7 softbrick // SPRINT

I have somehow managed to lose my S/N completely from my Sprint S7. Doesn't show in Settings > system status.
Only shows IMEI and MEID info for "#*06#."
Peeled sticker off back like an idiot .
When I 'Home + vol down + pwr' then 'home' only shows MEID
So essentially- in a nutshell- I'm trying to repair my phone with Kies/SS, they are requesting my S/N and none of these numbers work. Somewhere along the way of rooting i wiped my S/N from my S7 no idea how...if anyone could be of any assistance it would greatly be appreciated!

Try updating the firmware with Odin and you will be fine! You can download the orig firmwares of sammobile.
Look at the backside about an inch from the bottom. You might need a magnifying glass or a loupe.

The most current firmware sam has is outdated right now. I updated my firmware right before so i keep getting a FAIL (AUTH) prompt in Odin...Cause you know i couldn't have made this situation more difficult . & For the numbers on the back of the phone none have worked for smart switch.
UPDATE: Phone is now soft bricked.... No idea how just does a pulsating vibrate loop upon boot.
So where im at now, phones showing an exclamation mark with the use recovery prompt. Have access to download mode. Flashing stock firmware fails through ODIN with (auth) code. No serial number to use kies or SS. The only way to get this OS stable again is through Odin with the most current firmware...which was just released like 2 days ago & I can't find ANYWHERE. otherwise this is a really expensive brick plz help!!!!!

Well if you have a G930F then i would just download a other region firmware that is newer then yours. This should do the trick and why didnt you keep the box of the phone?
If the S/N eched on the back of the phone doesn't work with SmartSwitch, then there really is something fishy going on. Maybe the phone is blacklisted?

No it is because it is a sprint phone they use DEC not S/N and are not compatible with Smart switch recovery...talked to a rep lastnight stupidest thing I've ever heard.

The MEID by DEC replaces the IMEI used in other countries. This is an individual unique identifier related to the cellular networks and is not controlled by Samsung. The Samsung serial number on the other hand is up to Samsung and this is the number you use with SmartSwitch. It could be that Sprint phones are not compatible with SmartSwitch, but this can not have anything to do with the MEID DEC being used instead of IMEI. I would think that the other US networks uses MEID DEC instead of IMEI too and so you mean that they too are incompatible with SmartSwitch?

I don't mean to assume that it isn't compatible at all, but what the rep told me is that sprint does not use S/N but instead DEC & the DEC # is not compatible with smart switch. It may be compatible but from everywhere I've searched a S/N does not exist for my phone. Spoken to sprint and samsung about it...
UPDATE: further information, my phone was rooted and flashed with ODIN. everything was fine until i went through the steps to re enable my service. i disable a couple things in buildprop.editor, restarted my phone and got stuck in a boot loop. I can access recovery but i flashed twrp so it's custom.
UPDATE: I have gotten the firmware information from sprint. I need the G930PVPS4APJ2 firmware. If anyone can be of assistance with this it isn't available on sam yet.

I believe that the are many guides like this out there, because I already know all of this. Why even bother posting this if I can do all of this more easily with Smart switch?.
And use Odin 3.12 [/QUOTE]
Got the firmware, unzipped it with 7zip. Placed in BL line. Execurtes and after the 12th line it says emmc.appsboot.mbn and then the next line says Fail (Auth)
Ideas?
My device was already soft bricked so I still cannot boot. I can only get to a boot loop or download mode.

Finally working method for enabling VoLTE on S7 Edge on latest BTU firmware (no root)

Hello Guys. I've been playing around with all available nougat firmwares to get volte working. I succeded using latest BTU firmware and beta 1 files.
I'm not responsible for any issues with phone after using this tutorial. Use at your own risk.
With this configuration Shealth doesn't work. It says device has been compromised. Knox is not tripped but probably the cause is a mix of firmware files from different builds. I am looking for a fix but for now you have to sacrifice Shealth if you want VoLTE working on BTU firmware. Flashing full BTU firmware back is restoring Shealth functionality.
UPDATE - After flashing back DQB3 bootloader VoLTE stays and Shealth start working So flash DQB3 bootloader and DQB1 cp file at the very end to get everything working!!
This tutorial is temporary solution until branded operator firmwares will be released.
So what we need:
Official latest nougat full firmware - DQB3 at the moment
Beta 1 BL, CP, CSC files
Odin
Samfirm
To get VoLTE working follow these steps:
Enable oem unlock so you can use odin to flash firmwares (oem unlock is in developer options - enable them tapping About device/software info/Build number few times).
Flash full latest Nougat BTU firmware - (available on samfirm)
{

}
After flashing completed, skip all configuration because phone will be factory resetted again when you flash beta files. Now flash Nougat beta BL, CP, CSC which are available here: Beta files
After flashing configure phone as normal (i skipped restore settings in samsung cloud just in case of something overwritten).
Flash back Stock Nougat DQB3 bootloader.
Enjoy working VoLTE on latest BTU firmware
If I helped you, click thanks button
Thanks I'm doing this later.
If I'm already running on DBQ3 do I need to do the first bit?
thanks bro.... turkey s7 edge developers
VoLTE being enabled is in the CSC file only
There is no need to do this double flashing technique.
Stock Nougat BL
Stock Nougat AP
Stock Nougat CP
BETA 1 CSC
One time flash, finished

Strange, flashing Nougat files + BETA 1 CSC once has worked for other people in the EE thread. It is well known that all the code needed to enable VoLTE and WiFi calling sits in the CSC file, hence why most guides suggest you flash all 4 files in ODIN but use the CSC file of your choice for carrier settings. If the user is rooted, simply extracting the CSC folders from the CSC image and dropping it into /system is enough and doesn't require any specific ODIN flashed bootloader or modem file.
Mixing different system image and bootloader files isn't really recommended

Like I said before, of course it would. VoLTE does not depend on the modem or the bootloader.
ALL of the code enabling VoLTE is in the CSC file
I have followed instructions on post 1 on my s7 edge dual sim on 3UK but still not getting Volte - can anyone help?
It is hard to say why you not getting it. Solution worked in my case but im on EE uk. I tried hard and no other solution worked for me.
Did you flash full dqb3 rom first? And then those 3 files?
Flashed from MM to Nougat, with original BTU file from sammobile and VoLTE worked in an instant.
so i think it the depends on where you live

Yes I did. Is there an option you need to activate within the software?
Nope, it should activate itself when available.

please, anybody can help me?
First of all, download your firmware from Sammobile or Updato.
Also Home_CSC flashes without wiping / factory resetting the phone. CSC wipes the phone / factory reset. Up to you which one you want to use.

Hi benjamen50,
I have downloaded TGY firmware from sammobile and from Updato application, also, i download the 4 files by usinf SamFirm application, but when i flash by Odin there is PIT file error, so i cant flash this mobile to TGY firmware.
I am wondering why set PIT fails, could perhaps be bad charger port, cable or usb port on computer?

Hi friend,
I have same problem with you on my S6 G9200 phone, but still not have any way to fix PIT FAIL ERROR, i flashed TGY Rom many times before.
And then I find this Rom, it's so good for me. Now i share it here, you can download and try to use if need.
Rom flash through Recovery: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cKUkNQBb-sqqr0hmRj9NB7sGVePSjqWV/view?usp=sharing
Recovery: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3lKG69W6panSG1OLVpZTEpKYlE/view?usp=sharing
After flashed ROM, restart system all into Phone Screen. Run this CH Play apk file and your phone will have CH Play normally.

Notice: Don't flash more anything.
Have fun

Question [SOLVED] M127F stuck with Russia (SER) CSC after flashing Brazil ROM and later trying to flash back to XEO

So I wanted to try something so I flashed the Brazil ROM. tried to flash back to XEO but now in the settings it says "SER/SER,SER/XEO" and when resetting installs Russian bloatware. What can I do to restore the XEO ROM?
Dis you do a factory reset?

That is weird. Full Brazilian stock firmware set? AP, BL, CP and CSC_OMC_ODM? Once the device is restarted after flashing get into the recovery straight away (hold power + volume up with the USB cable connected to PC). Don't let it boot Android! In the recovery do Factory Reset, format the data partition (if it's possible in the stock recovery, I don't remember) and wipe all the caches and only then boot the system. Also try removing the SIM card before flashing and also do the first boot of Android without SIM (although it shouldn't matter but who knows).

I remember that when I did disassembling of the Prism partition of different country versions I've discovered that most of the European firmwares contain the full set of Russian bloatware. In fact, all the firmwares with the size of more than 5 GB are all nearly identical in regards of bloatware included. So I can suggest you to temporarily install a Nepal or Papua New Guinea firmware, do the factory reset with it, go fully through the setup process, and then try again to flash the Brazilian version. It may help. Or you can stay with the Nepalese firmware, it's quite minimalistic and includes Samsung Pay (if you need it).

ok but the m127f model doesnt have a nepal or papua new guinea firmware
Try Bolivia: https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-M127F/BVO
The general rule of thumb is the smaller firmware is the less bloated it is. Also prefer firmware for the poor and commercially unpromising countries, the so-called "3rd world".
sorry for reviving this thread but is there a way to get lte back? all i want is "good" mobile data and lte works good on my huawei, so can i get it back on my samsung without somehow changing the csc? (the carrier i use is Play in Poland)
after around 8 months, today i finally got my lte back via the samfw frp tool
