[Completed] lollipop: Android is upgrading message still showing up after factory reset? - XDA Assist

Just wondering if this is normal:
I just got a second hand htc one m7, rooted it and flashed it to the latest ARHD rom running lollipop.
After factory resetting and rebooting, i got a message saying:
Android is upgrading...
optimizing x of 229 apps.
is this normal considering that there are no apps installed and that i had wiped the cache?
Are these apps from the previous user? if so is there any way to wipe them?
I cant see any of these files in file manager either.
Sorry if this is an obvious thing, but i haven's anything beyond gingerbread before.
thanks : )

Hi there,
No sir. That apps are system applications, preinstalled.

[Completed] How to reinstall preloaded vodafone system software files that have been deleted?

I have HTC one (M8) unlocked, S-off(used sunshine) running TWRP custom rom. I have rom manager pro, supersu pro. Unfortunately I have deleted carrier software "discover" and "updater" I have received software update file 2.22.161.6 (706.34mb) and have tried to install several times but it constantly fails. The best I have had is the install gets about 25% along the green bar and then goes to the "red triangle" which I believe is the wipe cache symbol. I am a complete newbie but thought I had read up enough and watched enough videos of "how to" - to actually get by, obviously this is not the case and now I'm stuck and don't know what to do I have searched the web for other users in a similar position but can't find any answers/solutions. On one occasion when I tried to install the update the teamwin screen came up and then went to fail with quite a long message that I photographed but it did say "MD5 file missing" I wondered if this was down to removing the preloaded carrier stuff? I don't mind doing a factory reset if that is advised but will I loose my paid for apps? especially the S-off bought through the sunshine app and quite expensive.
Can you please help / advise.
P.S. the phone is working perfectly I just can't update even tried flashing a couple of stock rom's via PC but just returns to TWRP every time.

[Completed] [Q] LG optimus F6 problem

so i rooted my device with towelroot, and cleared out a bunch of bloatware. seeing as how this phone only has 2 gb of internal storage, it doesnt really handle more than like 3 or 4 apps ( for me anyway ) so i had removed alot of stuff i dont use, andway...all of a sudden i started getting this error message
unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped
and i googled it, found a fix on xda, and tried it for my phone, doesnt work. so now i cannot access the playstore to download any apps at all, and my phone is basically only letting me use data, txt, and calling features, plus preloaded stuff. this is after i also had done a factory reset. i was able to root again, and have super su installed, but this is it, because anything ive found for flashing custom roms involves me getting into the playstore for something in some way. did i do something to my phone, or is it a piece of junk? any help would be appreciated. thanks
Hi there,
I'm sorry but I can't find anything related to your question/device:

Good luck
It was a gapps problem, and I fixed it by flashing a custom kitkat ROM to my phone. It actually freed up massive amounts of space, improved functionality, and all around operability. Thanks guys...

[Completed] [Q] Need to re-install Android 4.4.2 on Prestigio PSP 5508 DUO

Greetings form South Africa!
This is my first post on this forum, so apologies if this is in the wrong section!
Needless to say I am a complete novice with android so I do not know where to start with troubleshooting.
I am in bit of a bind here. As the title suggests, I think I need to do a completely fresh install of Android 4.4.2 on my Prestigio SPS 5508 DUO.
Some Background:
I have rooted my phone with KingoRoot and for the last round used the Titantanium Backup app to uninstall the default Message app and The preinstalled office suite 7.
After that my Google news stand app stopped working with a message saying it stopped working.
I decided to do a factory reset, because I thought it might resolve the issue... That was a mistake it seems.
When My phone rebooted after the factory reset, everything was messed up. the setup wizzard keeps crashing. and I get error messages from almost all the google apps.
The Problem:
I have not backed up anything, so there is nothing to fall back on.
My question now is, is there a way to do a fresh install of the Android OS along with the needed drivers? - same as you would do when formatting your pc: fresh install of windows, install the drivers, then move on to the programs you use.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
EDIT: On the Prestigio site I have found a firmware update download, maybe something inside here can help? I wanted to post a link but apparently I don't have enough street cred!
Go to prestigio dot com and then go to the PSP5508 page and you will find it under support and firmware

[Q] Factory Reset After Unlocking & Rooting Accident :(

ONePlus One 64GB
Unlocked, Rooted, Installled TWARP, & Custom ROM Sabermod CM12 -SM4.8-bacon, Android ver. 5.0.2, kernel ver 3.4.105AK.093.OPO.SKULL.CM12, GAPPS -lp-20141109-signed-zip, bacon_firmware_update_2015_04-09.zip... It took me forever to get this done.
I read in similar threads only data was supposed to be erased :\
Then friend said that GPlay store was soooo slow he Factory Reset... I had SuperSU, Root Checker, & Trickster.... all three gone.
1) Re-downloaded Root Checker & it say: SuperSU is not installed properly?
2) Can I download Color OS ROM & keep it saved with current custom rom then switch between running each one till I get them working right.
3) Why problem with Google Play store - Slow Gapps??
4) Do I proceed from here? Thank you all.

[Completed] WiFi won't turn on ( endless WiFi turning on loop )

Hello,
So yesterday I downloaded and installed it along with the most recent gapps linked on wiki page of CM. When it installed and I unlocked the device there were alot of Google Play error popups, but the WiFi was working. So afte I went on and downloaded and installed another Gapps which seems to be working just fine I ran into another error-my WiFi is in an endless turning on loop. So far I have tried recovering back to the pre CM13 install version which sadly didn't solve the problem. How can I fix this issue, it happened to me before and the solution was to simply recover to last version but this time it doesn't work.

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
If you flashed the different GApps without reflashing the ROM, something odd may have got stuck.
Try a factory reset, reflash the ROM and then the right Gapps. Test.
If still a looping wifi, you may need to restore your stock backup or at worst, RUU back to stock and start over.
Any questions about any of this, can ask in the following thread:
> HTC One (M8) > One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting > [HELP THREAD] HTC One M8 - Ask any questions here!
Please note, to post there, you will need to have an XDA account.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
