[Q] att lg g2 unlock

hello, I'm basically new to this forum and I'm an amateur, so here my question. Can the 32 gig, att d80020 with the 4.4.2 kitkat update be unlocked? I've read in some places that it comes factory unlocked and there's a lot of people who say they can unlock it but turns out they cant. can someone help with a cheap method cause att sucks for their data plans and I want to switch to tmobile.

Rooting and Unlocking Bootloader

Sorry if I missed this post somewhere. Was considering buying the Moto G from either Boost or Verizon prepaid. I see numerous ROM's for this phone, but was wondering if this phone is still able to be bootloader unlocked/rooted for either carrier (I ask STILL because I got burned on the LG L9 encrypted bootloader on newer models). I did see posts about paying some guy in china to unlock it, is there an alternative? Thanks all!

AT&T LG V10 on Cricket

Hi,
Just curious if the AT&T Lg v10 would work on cricket? I have been buying factory unlocked phones for the past year and half so am a bit out of loop. I know older att phone models worked on cricket but I did see a few cases of it not working in the newer threads online. Just want to check before getting it.
Thanks

You can buy a locked AT&T V10 and use it on Cricket (owned by AT&T). It does not need to be unlocked. Same applies for any AT&T MNVO too. In theory, but it seems youve found people posting that for them their phones haven't worked...

Thanks man. I know in theory it should work just a bit hesitant since ATT has been having a lot of new restrictions with new android phones like bootloader lock.

All carriers used to be boot loader locked. That's not new. And as far as AT&T and T-Mobile they welcome each others phones, they like stealing each others customers.
Verizon phone cricket service
Wanted to share I bought a Verizon v10 off eBay (they come unlocked out of the box) took it to cricket, tweaked a few settings and it's worked perfectly for three weeks now.
Im using my v10 on Cricket right now and it works well! Just wont get any updates unless you use an att active sim card.
My v10 is from AT&T and I currently use it on cricket.
My GF's v10 is from Verizon, and she also uses it on cricket. She just had to set the apn.
I use my locked ATT V10 on crickets network. The only real issue is so far it can't update to MM since I'm not a ATT customer.

do you have the APN settings correct? if not, enter the correct APN, enable it, then restart your phone. it should work.
you can just slip in the sim card and hope it works. find your APN settings...

not sure if I'm allowed to paste the link to another site if its not from xda forums... if so... my bad

Good day. I am currently running 3 LG V10's on Cricket. So far, so good. Make sure you check your IMEI number with them FIRST !
Anyone have experience with the V10 on mintsim or textnow

advice for a dumb verizon customer

hello, im in need of a rootable cell phone, i bought what i thought was a moto z play but was actually a moto z play droid (xt1635-01) which is locked tight thanks to big red
so im wondering if anyone knows a comparable phone that is unlockable. for example verizons offering of pixels maybe? i had a lg g4 which was bootloader locked but rootable, which was acceptable until the motherboard went out. this happened to me on a samsung gs3 so i HAD samsung and lg both on do not buy list but after this motorola trash im ready to just take whatever will work.

Look at the list of available Verizon devices, get their model numbers and then search to see which of those model numbers are rootable.
If you can use any unlocked device then just search for rootable devices that Verizon will allow in their BYOP program, if they allow unlocked devices then take your pick of any of rootable devices they allow on their network. You can even choose a device that is not only rootable but has custom ROMs available also.

TMobile LG g5 on metropcs

I've seen conflicting reports that to use a TMobile LG g5 on metropcs the phone doesn't need unlock and that it does? Can anyone confirm this
Yes it does need to be unlocked though its pretty simple to have it unlocked. I believe you can just call tmobile and tell them the situation. That it's a used tmo phone or whatever and you'll be leaving the country and would like an unlock code sent (that's what I told them anyway).
The phone doesn't need to be unlocked. I am using now LG G5 H830 from T-Mobile and I am a metro pcs customer. They use same network. No unlocked needed.
