hi friends
I have a mk808b device with JB 4.2.2 Official - Finless ROM 2.1 rom
I'm going to download large files (bigger than 4GB) but FAT32 only support under 4GB
I changed sd card format to EXT3 with MiniTool Partition Wizard Free but device doesn't recognize sd card
is there a way to add file bigger than 4GB to sd?
thanks in advanced
Maybe try exFAT or NTFS. Almost all devices should be able to read those file systems.

i have a 2 gb sd card which i plan to use as storage in my flashed tilt.
i formated it as fat32, but guess there is some problem doing that as my tilt has started giving me a critical alarm that there is very little space on the storage device - i have hardly used 50MB in the 2GB sd card being used as the storage !!
can someone advise me the file system (fat16 / fat32) to be used & its allocation unit size for use of the 2GB SD card in the tilt.
thank you

Click to collapse
I use FAT32. card standard allocation unit size.
Use 128mb,256mb,512mb mSD to flash with.

FAT32
I use FAT32...see the 8GB link in my signature for a link to a thread that has a great app that specifically formats the SD card in a proper way.
FAT32 is much more efficient.
Hi,
I am now using a 8GB SD card for my phone (around 6GB FAT32 and 1GB EXT2).
Now I am going to change into a new 16GB SD card (that I will create 1GB EXT2 partition soon)
Can anybody tell me how I can move the EXT2 partition from the old card to new new one using my pc?Thanks!
The only way I know of to do it with a pc would be to use a Linux distro, live or otherwise, then read the data from the ext partitions and copy it over manually if you can have both cards hooked in at the same time (one in a reader one in the phone).
Thanks but my Desktop is running Windows 7,
is there any alternative solutions?
Hi all.... I haven't found specific answers to my questions so am posing them here.
I am running CM11
Can you expand your internal storage without doing an entire ext sd card to internal swap? I want to use only part of my ext SD card to enhance the internal storage.
Is there any point in formatting multiple partitions on the ext SD card as fat32 / ext4 / Linux swap anymore? I thought doing this would have part of the partition used for internal storage and part as the ext sd card storage. Formatting the SD card through CWM deletes all partitions and formats it all as FAT32 for external storage only.
Thanks and go Blaze haha

You can partition your SD card on your pc into pieces that android won't recognize..follow this as a guide..the program is fantastic

Thanks ink. I will look at this more tonight but I did use Partition Wizard Home and formatted the first partition as FAT32 which is recognized as the external SD card1 in CM11 but the 2nd EXT4 partition isn't recognized by the ROM it seems. Maybe I just don't know how it would be used but checking the storage in settings didn't have any change to internal.
I fomated a microSD with FAT (1st partition) and ext2/3/4 (2nd part.). 1st FAT works fine under every OS. Also ext (2nd) works fine on Ubuntu Linux PC. and it works on my Windows 7 PC.
But:
Under Windows8.1 with ext reader software like Paragon ExtFS I can read/WRITE but not DELETE files from the ext partition. ext2Mgr can not Access the partition at all. Reader Software like Linux Reader, ext2explore can read it
I tried it with a 4GB normal microSD and a 64GB SDXC. The micro SD is inserted into 2 different USB-readers (one with an SD2microSD adapter), one which can direct read microSD and on another PC into an built-in reader with an microSD to SD Adapter. Files and Partition have read/write permisions fr everyone.
The memory card format is generic format in G pro 2 and its not allowing the user to copy the file more than 4Gb.I have formatted the memory card to NTFS but when i insert the memory card in phone its asking to format again and getting changed to the Generic file format. Is there any solution for this issue any one has come across?
Why not to use exFAT? G pro 2 can use cards formatted with exFAT file system. I'm using 64gb exFAT memory card without a problem. Just format a card to exFAT on a computer.
