hello guys
today I went back from 5.1 GPe to 5.0.1 stock firmware. now i have the problem that my sound is not working anymore, especially in apps like youtube or twitch, if i recieve a message it is actually working so it must be a software error. same with the mic. when i record a video it is working, if i call somebody or record a whatsapp message it is not working. i tried to flash different roms but nothing works.
does anybody has a tip for me to fix this?

I've updated today my android ver to 4.4.4
I found that I don't have sound when using the phone normally while in call, only after I switch to speaker I get sound.
It works both ways, meaning, the other side can't hear me as well until I switch to speaker mode !
This is a really big bug, has anyone else encountered that too ? any suggestions for solution ?
The problem is pretty severe, I tried installing stock 4.4.3 and it didn't solve anything (used 'flash-all')
I have no idea how to fix this issue now.

I have exactly the same problem. Restarting the phone fixes it for a moment, but then it happens again.
EDIT:
I did a clean flash with 4.4.4 - everything seems right so far. I guess that's why dirty flashs aren't recommended.

So everything is in the title. Not long ago the microphone on my TF300T just stopped working. I recorded videos without problem, and one month later, without me installing anything, it just stopped recording anything, no matter the app. I tried Skype, the camera, several recording apps... nothing.
Tried a cold boot and a data wipe, same thing.
Z-device test detects the microphone, but it doesn't record anything. When I record a video or try to use a microphone app, I get a loud pop and just noise. I've messed a bit with the gain and I obtain nothing. Of course ASUS support is useless. I have seen similar problems all around the web but no one seemed to have an explaination or a solution, all threads were just left hanging...
Stock rom, not rooted. Does anyone have an idea about the problem ? Is the microphone busted ? Would it pop like that it that was the case ?
I've been trying hard to fix the issue but it is still prevalent.
Whenever I use a ROM, when the phone is in loud mode, sometimes the call ringtone is not played from the speakers. However if your are receiving a call and you pop in the headset, the phone immediately plays the ringtone again. This first appeared in AICP. I've changed it to Mokee and CM12 too, the same. For an year I've been using crDroid before and I did not have this bug. But now, even after flashing the crDroid version I previously had, I get the bug.
I wonder how its happening like this. Does bootloader have to do something? I switched to Brazilian Stock in order to get the Lollipop soak test, and after a couple of ROM changes I've been having this issue. Does the Brazilian stock firmware use a different boot loader than Asia stock firmware?
I've tried installing a custom kernel to check if its a kernel issue but the issue won't resolve. Again the issue goes off by a restart but comes back after a few calls.

Hi, I'll try to keep this as simple as I can, I'm having problems with calls reconding on my device.
Before updating to Android MM and N I was able to record every call made and received on my device on any ROM I flashed that was runing Android 5.1.1 or earlier.
After updating Marshmellow and Nougat I can still record my calls but there's a problem, the phone only records my voice over the mic and nothing else! It doesn't record whatever people is saying to me unless I turn on the loudspeaker. That wasn't happening on the previous versions of Android, I was even able to record with my earbuds's microphone, so I'd like to know if there's a workarround this issue.
Am I the only one with this problem? Some help would be very much apreciated.

I recently flashed LOS 16 (coming from LOS 14) in order to hopefully get rid of my crackling recording problem.
The problem unfortunately is still there. I don't know if it's a hardware or software problem.
Phone calls are completely fine, however, the microphone makes a really annoying crackling sound whenever I record voice messages or use any kind of voice recorder on my S7.
Perhaps someone has an idea about what I could do. I already did some research but nothing helped.
Is there a way to disable the onboard microphone and just use a headset whenever I want to record voice msgs or make calls?
I'd appreciate any input.

Yesterday I flashed the newest Samsung firmware. Voice seemed to work in the stock rom. I then flashed LOS again and the "crackling" in voice recording is back again.
I'm not sure what updating my baseband entails (and I don't know how to do it, actually).
