Well, to be fair, I just did the same thing. I got tired of the ever present lag in Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat, so I decided to take the plunge. I had forgotten just how fluid Kitkat can be. My N5 is flying and the battery life is not too shabby either. Long live KK.

What procedure did you follow to downgrade? Radio and img are the newest ones? Please give a link for cataclysm kitkat, i bought nexus5 with lp rom.
The truth is that KitKat after few updates was probably better than every next release. Android 5.0 was horrible, huge smoothness decrease, RAM management problems... 5.1 was a little bit better, 6.0 was pretty good. But I clearly remember that KitKat was the smoothnest. However, I have to say that Android 7.0 is nearly as smooth as KitKat, luckily we got Nougat really quick.

What rom did you flash. I'm on 6.01. What is the procedure? I thought about this scenario:
1. Perform twrp nandroid backup.
2. First go to factory image 4.4.4. Did you flash bootloader and radio from this kitkat image or not?
3. Flash cataclysm rom "Cataclysm-Jun_20_2014-HAMMERHEAD-Kitkat-4.4.4_Final.zip" from this link: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=38691
4. Flash SuperSU (which version, can 2.76 be ok?)
5. Flash kernel, which, link?
If I'm not satisfied can I return to 6.01 from backup?

I just flashed Purity 4.4.4. Radio and bootloader are the newest ones. Also using TWRP 3.0.2-0. I tried to flash cataclysm but it won't work no matter what, not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I downgraded to KK from a 6.0.1. I just used the Factory Images on Google's website and just used the .bat file to flash. Worked perfectly.
Limitations are like google now(may be)...anything else??

Haven't tested Nexus Launcher, but Google Now works perfectly. Using Nova Launcher Prime, btw.
Is there a posibility to use kitkat rom as secondary rom in Multirom? I made a thread in the Help section, would appreciate help

Was it a clean flash (factory reset, wipe cache and wipe Dalvik)? Did you migrate anything with Titanium Backup besides apps and app data?
I wiped all partitions and flashed ROM (with another full wipe in aroma). I was only downloading apps form market.

I don't know if its related to your camera issue, but wipes in AROMA are known to be problematic. Stick to wiping in TWRP (and never in bootloader).
Have you tried to simply flash the ROM again? Or download the ROM again and flash?

No, only on this.
I will try to flash ROM again, this time without wipe in aroma.
It didn't help.
Do you know any good Sense 4+ ROM with great battery life and multi language support or add Polish to this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244445
Asking for ROM recommendations isn't allowed. To say one ROM is better is to infer that the others are inferior in some way. This is disrespectful to the devs who spend their spare time bringing us these awesome ROMs free of charge. Each user has different tastes anyway, the best way to see which ROM suits you is to flash a few and find out for yourself.

Okay, but do you know how to add language to ROM (MoreLocale app form market is rubbish)? Or can you do this? I don't know how to do this
Unfortunately it isn't something I have any experience in because English is my first language, so I've never been in a situation where I've had to add languages.

You're still not being at all specific. You haven't even clearly stated what you issue is. "Still nothing" doesn't mean anything. When asking for any kind of help on XDA, typing 1 or 2 sentences simply doesn't cut it. You need to post your bootloader details, what you have tried to do with your phone (detailed steps, and any error messages given), current state of the phone, etc.
If you are too lazy to even properly explain what you issue is; why would you expect anyone here to take the time to help you?

Need bootloader details.
I would suggest achieving S-off (if not already, you haven't given any details, so I can only guess) and running a JB RUU.
DO NOT flash a JB RUU with S-on and SuperCID, as this combination will brick the device.
Like in the topic.
In call volume is the main concern.
Thanks
I'm still on KitKat... refused the Lollipop update. No issues with in call volume... definitely loud enough.
Same here. Never was a fan of lollipop's look. Still snappy since i got it first few weeks it came out. Battery still strong. No probs with in call volume either. Notification volume is louder from what i read also.
As it turns out, speed difference and real world performance is nil if any. Looking back, kk may be the windows xp version of android, light and quick vs heavier fancier more features of newer versions to come.
Check it out!

the last KK 4.4 23.0.1.A.5.77
OR GO FOR
the last LP 5.1.1 23.4.A.0.546
Does it really worth upgrading to 5.1.1?
Thanks for your answers, cheers

Lollipop was worse. I tried fullwipe installation of 5.1.1 but still had those issues mentioned. When I downgraded I had an old TWRP backup so I just deleted everything but storage in TWRP and restored the backup and it seems to be fine for me. Though flashing an official FTF 4.4.4 might be better to just make sure but I'm a bit too lazy for that right now lol.
Im on 4.4.4
Love it. But I would like to try 5.1.1 on my D6616... Can't find a pre_rooted flashable.zip though.

I just downgrade my Z3 from LP 5.1.1 to KK 4.4.4. Yes, use that method from that link. But be extra cautious while using the Flashtool to downgrade to KK 4.4.4. REMEMBER to WIPE App Info, Cache and User Data at the top right of Flashtool. I forgot about it and my phone went to Bootloop problem. Had a hard time on figuring out on how to stop the bootloop. If anyone forget about it and went to bootloop, just totally switch off the Z3 by pressing power + up vol together. Then run Flashtool again. This time round don't mind about USB Debugging etc cause you cant go in anyway.
Almost 3 weeks on Kitkat 23.0.1..5.77
Its very fast and smooth, wonder if LP would give me any improvement (or disadvantage) ?
I'm also back on KK after 5.0 and 5.1 stints. I had all the classic problems associated with Lollipop whereas KK is rock solid.

yes you can. simply flash any custom rom u like..
Did you find any issues in MM?
Don't do it. First of all check if the bootloader got updated. Newer bootloader won't accept 5.1.1. If you updated via OTA you can't go back. Only option is CM13.

Hello guys,
I have been following XDA for quite long time now and always could find answer for my question but this time I gave up..
I was so amazed by S7 performance that I never though I would need to go CF. 7h SOT on WiFi was common and 4,5h on 4G. But after Oreo came up it gotten worse and worse.
I really would like to roll back to Nougat offcial - so far I learned there is no way to achieve that easily but since I didnt find any straight answer I started to wonder if that is even possible?
At the moment Im on Oreo v.4 BL and custom Kernel which was supposed to help with battery drain on 4G...i mean it does a bit but this is still not what I am looking for.
Have anyone found a solution for draining?

Come on now you know its not that simple, bootloader doesn't reside on same partitions you can wipe with rom installs.
If I knew it wasn't that simple I wouldn't have asked. I figured if ROM's can update bootloaders they could downgrade them too.

We cant downgrade the bootloader. I also want back Nougat! Its was very better in battery life
So I have checked both Lineage and RR but it was even worse.
Yesterday in the morning I installed the latest stock Oreo XEO G930FXXS4ESC1 and the latest TGP kernel - it seems promissing. Got 3h25min SOT using only mobile network.
My battery life is 81% so the result with TGP is the closest to what I was gettin on Nougat.
If that keeps up I will stay with it. But I think I will give a try with Superman Rom v2.90.
