Well now that the Tmobile Htc one s has been released, comes the question:
besides the HSPA speed of the tmobile version, which one would be better for a tmobile customer to get ? the unlocked international version or the tmobile version?
in other words, are there any disadvantages of getting the tmobile version vs the international one ( in terms of being able to root it, S-OFF tool, unlocking, gps locked?, bloating,,,etc)
Well they're really the same beside the hspa+ which you already know. i think you should check out the t-mobile version cause in my opinion it wont have as much defects as the international version.
what defects are you talking about in the international version??

I believe he's talking about the chipping that the MAO version is experiencing. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589364
This only happens on the black version so if you order the gray/blue version you won't experience this issue.
The international version does not have tmobile AWS bands sso the decision is prretty much made for you already if youre a tmobile customer.
other than the radio will roms be interchangeable?
TMobile HTC One S will support 42mbps "4G"
International HTC One S won't but it doesn't come with bloatware too.
how about roms?
will the same rom be working on both versions?
International one has no 4G but the T-Mobile Variant does.
Roms should be interchangeable.
They are the exact same phone minus some frequency bands.
If I was looking to pick up an unlocked ONE S to use for my international travels, am I better off going for the INT version? Will the Tmobile version be worse on my battery due to its 4g capabilities? What about Mobile hotspot for tethering. Will I have an easier time with that purchasing an unlocked international phone rather than unlocking a tmobile (with my unlocked Verizon phones I can not use hotspot, even when I am on GSM out of the country with foreign SIM).
I just figured when they come to Tmobile it will be fairly easy picking up an unlocked ONE S from ebay or somthing....

The T-Mobile version doesn't have "4G", it is really "advanced" 3G. It has no more drain on the battery than their actual 3G does since it is in fact, 3G.
T-Mobile doesn't even have "4G".

In other words, it should no make a difference for me if I buy the international version or unlocked tmobile version. What about tethering. Does anybody have experience with that?

This is what I thought. Would it be possible to flash the One S so that it can be used abroad?
Tethering is excellent on the UK three mobile networkl

Well if you are on T-Mobile US, you want the T-Mobile version because the international version will only get 2G on T-Mobile US.

I have a brought my European One S to USA. I am on Tmobiles mothly4g plan but my mobile internet speed does not go up more then Edge. Does my phone allow me to use Tmobiles 4g or at least 3g? I am a little confused with all the radios and everything, is there any way I can make 4g work on my European One S? Thank you!
I don't think the International one s has the tmo 4G bands. You'd be better off with like a straight talk att sim.
Anyone know if the One Mini will be available on TMOUS?
It is
i just bought the AT&T version and unlocked it... its missing HSPA+ but i get solid LTE coverage in my area
Specifically for TMOUS with WiFi calling..?
Hello to everybody.
I have opened this thread to untherstand if there is any chace to make work my Verizon M8 with the network band here in europe.
My M8 with the HD revolution 50 Rom work exelent expet for the network signal.
I saw that here in europe more or less the band used by the phone are the same of the ATT network in US.
If I put the ATT radio I can have more signal?
Thanks.
P.S.
Sorry for my english.

I do not believe it is as simple as just putting the ATT radio on the device, but honestly, I do not know.
Maybe you can SuperCID and flash the ATT radio (DON'T do this based on me..)
It may help to do some research on older HTC devices and getting Verizon variants to work on ATT and possibly edit that method for this device?
Hello,
Looking for some information on whether I will be able to utilize LTE on AT&T with a unlocked and rooted Verizon HTC One M8. Do I need to do anything else besides changing the radio frequency? Will I need to change the ROM to an AT&T variant?
Thanks.
