Can I bypass my mifi hotspot's "login to wifi network" popup? - General Questions and Answers

I just purchased a MiFi 500 LTE from Freedompop and have been playing around with it. It seems to work good of what I need, but I have one annoying thing I would like to see if I can bypass.
Each time I connect to the mifi, my phone (nexus 5 running stock 5.1.1) first shows a wifi icon with an exclamation point and then pops up a notification asking me to manually connect to the wifi network. Sometimes, the phone will go on and connect anyway after a few second delay. Sometimes, however, the phone will not connect, and I have to tap on the icon. When I tap on the icon, a blank page will appear. Sometimes, the blank page will immediately disappear and the phone will connect to the network automatically. However, sometimes it will not, and I have to tap on three dots in the top right corner where my options are to not connect to the network or to connect to the network as is. When I chose to connect to the network as is, it connects.
Does anyone know the cause for this? Is there some setting that I have wrong on the hotspot? Or, is this just they way these mifi hotspots are supposed to work? I was hoping it would be as seamless as connecting to my wifi router at home, where it just connects automatically as soon as it is detected.
Thanks

WiFi issue: no connection, no error (WM6)

Hello everybody
Today I updated my QTEK8310 with WM6. Everything works fine,
also GPRS (MMS and Internet).
Unfortunately, I don't get WiFi to work. It detects the SSID, then I can press
"connect". But nothing happens: no connection; no error
I tried with with WPA protection and without. Both time no success.
My laptop can connect, so the issue must be related to the phone.
Any ideas?
Sounds ridiculous, but did you reboot your phone ?
Yes, of course. --> No success.
It's realy strange. The SSID is shown, the signal strength as well.
If I press connect, I see the WiFi icon changing: dotted-circle for about 1 second, and then the circle disappears again. That's it.
Have you tried with other Wireless AP ?
Unfortunately I only have one
The only thing I can tell you is that the phone detect other
SSIDs at my place. But of course I don't have any access key.
Is there anything I can check? Any log-file or configuration setting?
Thanks!
Ok, what router are you using, if your router supports wireless G only, you might need to adjust a setting so that your phone can connect to G network at B speed
Some router, although is backward compatible with B, but the option is turned off
@karhoe
Thanks! I had to enable the "b" mode! Now it works!
It's time to try out the IP-Phone stuff... but in the
Comm-Manager I cannot activate it. Maybe I should
open a new thread for that.

[Q] Wifi connects ti wrong network

Hi my omnia 7 always tries to connect to an open network instead of my home network,I have tried many times to delete the network but it always appears again, how can I delete or get the phone to ignore this network
Many thanks
Is the SSID of your home network hidden? If it is, WP7 will not connect to it.
Hi. No it's not hidden and will connect ok but it always defaults to the open one first ,I then have to disconnect and then connect to my home one which is annoying

[Q] Wireless distance issues with Sharp IS03

I originally posted this in the IS03 sub-thread but received no replies.
Not root-related but since a little under a week ago, my IS03 has been having a real hard trouble with wifi when at home. If I move more than 4 meters or so away form the router, I cannot access anything.
When this happens, I'll disable/renable wifi (from 4-5 meters away or further) and one of two things will happen: 1. My network will not even show up or 2. My network will show up (with a 'good' or 'fair' wifi status) but when I try to connect, it will disconnect immediately.
What I noticed through the Wifi Analyzer app was that even when the Android wouldn't show my network on the network list, wifi analyzer still registered it about -70dbm.
I originally thought the router is to blame but both my wife's AU HTC Evo and my Amazon Kindle have no problems using wifi from the same distance.
I also thought that perhaps the cover I have for the phone may be collecting dust so I removed it to no avail.
Any ideas why the wifi in my phone is acting up?
Thanks.
UPDATE since original post: I moved my router (Linksys WRT160N V3) to a more central location and installed DD-WRT (TX Power power set to default 71) and the problem went away for about a week but now it has returned. Both my Kindle and my wife's Evo have no issues with accessing the internet through wifi from the other side of the apartment but the IS03 cannot.
If I try to connect to wifi and I am right next to the router, one of three things will happen: 1. It WILL connect but I cannot access the net. 2. The network will show up on the available network list but it won't automatically connect (will say the network is disabled. If I try to manually connect, it will immediately disconnect. 3. Network won't even show up.

Stop Xoom from connecting to wifi that isn't mine....

Comcast is my ISP, and I have a netgear router for my wireless in my house.
However, it would seem that comcast has recently put up a new wifi hotspot near my house, or extended one of their current hotspots, and my xoom keeps picking it up.
The problem is the comcast signal is incredibly weak... like half a bar weak. Where as my netgear is full bars... and yet, the Xoom will try and connect to comcast's hotspot rather then the router that is a couple feet away.
If I go into SETTINGS and 'forget' comcast, it just finds it again.
Is there some setting, or app, that would make my Xoom only connect to MY router and not comcast's when I'm home???
For some reason it's not "Forgetting" that connection. Once you forget a connection it will no longer auto connect to it. It's always going to see the signal, but after forgetting it, it should not be auto connecting.
Connect to it again, which should save it, then long press on it until it pops up a menu that contains forget / modify and click forget. See if it forgets it properly that way.

I can't connect to camera wifi bc it says no internet ! Please help.

Hello. I have Moto g 2015. I have updated my ph to android 6 official over wifi. Problem I am facing is that I can't connect to any wifi device which has no internet.
I bought a Nikon d5500 camera with wifi. When I connect my ph and camera ....it stays connected for 1 minute or less then it shows me a warning that it has no internet and then it gets disconnected!!
How do I stop it from getting disconnected?? Please help me !! ((
Go to WIFi settings and "forget" your Nikon camera's WiFi network, then connect again, in the notification dropdown there should be a message that saus "Nikoncamera WiFi has no Internet connection. Stay connected to this network?" and there is also a tick box that is something like always do this.
It won't pop up these prompts, you have to find them in the notification pull down, and before the phone normally times out and disconnects.
