no stock android roms available yet and i doubt there ever will be due to the custom samsung processor. if you want some touchwiz roms check out the android development subforum.
You can try Google Launcher for the "stock android feel."

Sorry if this question has been asked already, I searched through the related threads and couldn't find an answer:
I have an HTC Vivid running it's pre-installed Android 4.0 with Sense 3.6, but I want to flash a Vanilla ICS Rom (the rom running on the Galaxy Nexus) that doesn't have any proprietary UI crap on it, just the original ICS that's running on the Galaxy Nexus, and works with AT&T. Is there one available, and if so, is there a guide on on XDA where I could aim towards?
Thanks!!
search the android development forum for the vivid to find your rom of choice, then follow the guide below in order to flash it.

Hello,
Why cant we simply flash a stock jelly bean rom in a mobile running stock ics and what has kernel to do with it(Also, whats kernel????)... ?...Also i would like to know that does the processor has to do anything with the OS. I mean do roms made specifically based on the processor.? what is Gapps which is flashed alongside of a rom....? Will be very delighted and thankful to hear good answers.
There are a ton of guides and threads with answers to all of your questions. I'd suggest searching around and doing some reading. It's the best way to go about understanding.
Just Google it , and you can Google cyanogen mod or paranoid android if u want more features. They both are based on stock android and work on many devices

Im coming from the s3 . im just getting this phone now and wanted to see what roms to flash. whats the difference on original android and regular android roms? because on the s3 regular android roms were TW(TouchWiz) based and Original roms were Asop or Aokp based roms. So since this is a pure android phone why the two different categories?
So far i'm happy with stock rom/kernel + root/twrp + Xposed modules.
I feel it's a tad too early for custom rom/kernel if you aim at rock solid stability.
Regards,
Daniel

Because Nexus 5 stock is still very different from AOSP.
Also, non-original also includes unofficial cm etc.

Please would you mind using search before posting? Asked and answered numerous times in the nexus 5 forum already

We got an Android Rom development forum and an Original Android Development forum, but I don't see any stock roms in the ORIGINAL DEVELOPMENT FORUM.
Original Develeopment says to me that there are just the STOCK ROMS in it and not custom ones. These have to go to the other forum, I think.

Well now to my question. Is there anywhere a stock rom without vodafone etc. crap in it?
I'm looking for such a rom.
The roms from the development forum do not work. I just get a turned off phone after the installation and when I turn it back on it gets to a battery screen for a short time and then it turns itself off again.
I tried
Super Jelly Bean
NZXT
Gimlo

You do know that you have a flashable stock firmware, from which you can remove the bloat (post here, maybe?) and flash?
And I think Original Development means stuff that's built from source. Development is stock-based, or something-in-original-development-based.
Hey..Lol
Original development means not stock based...they are the rims compiled directly from a 10 gb source code..
Modded stock roms are in android development sections...
Thank you

But where are the stock roms without any bloatware as mine is from Vodafone and there are a lot of programs on it. I just want a plain system like cm.
Hey guys I am fairly new to android and really new to this rooting and custom rom thing and I've been doing my research with what a rooted android w/ custom rom could look like and what it could further do.
I was hoping that my rooted phone is compatible with Custom Roms like Cyanogen Mod, AOKP, etc. Unfortunately my phone isn't listed in any listed devices in the well known Custom Rom Sites but I still proceeded with installing Cyanogen Mod since everyone seems to be using it. I don't even know if there are more of these eye candy useful mods that makes the ios look miserably locked up while hoping at least one of these custom rom is compatible with my crappy awesome phone. But upon installation process of Cyanogen Mod WITHOUT awareness that it really isn't compatible, it stated in that page that I could (STILL)use their Custom Rom at my own risk. Beyond that I stopped the installation process in fear of destroying my phone.
I was wondering whether you guys could enlighten me about the compatibility of Huawei Y220-U10 to Custom Roms. I've seen Huawei Y210's on youtube that's using a custom rom but unfortunately ALL of them who's demonstrating their phones are speaking in Spanish. I also installed ROM Installer but I can't seem to see 'FEATURED'? Maybe because it's the free version?
Now I am willing to take the risk, starting from the bottom meaning derooting my phone, wiping it clean, rerooting it and flashing that Custom Rom but I'm seeking advice from much more experienced users because if you guys tell me that it is a BIG NO NO I guess I'll just have to stick with the Go Launcher and wait until I get a much better, stronger, faster android smartphone which has a friendlier compatibility to everything android. And how come I can't access facebook nor yahoo from any web browser in my phone? is it a virus? Please clarify my theories.
Much Regards, Jom
P.S. Phone is running at 2.3.6 and rooted with Kingo Android ROOT
Hello @Jom Apa Welcome to Android / XDA!
"BIG NO NO!" You can't flash ROMs not made for your device because of the underlying hardware incompatibilities. You might completely kill your phone.
Give me a few minutes while I search for ROMs you can use
UPDATE: Unfortunately I haven't been able to find any custom firmware for your device nor Github entries for the chipset used. Seems you'll either have to stick with stock or create your own custom ROMs there are a lot of support here on XDA, Let the learning begin!
Cheers!
