Problem With Default Actions

Hi guys.. I'm having a problem and I'm getting mad.. i installed mxplayer as usual, after a factory reset, but dolphin browser doesn't ask me which app should it use to play videos (from mobile youtube or other sites). How can i reset the default app? I tried to llok into settings-app-reset to default but nothing..
I also tried to download a sample video file, chose the wrong player (poweramp), but when i go into settings-app-poweramp the reset default is grayed out and i can't click it.. wtf is happening to my phone???

Installing a new app (same use) should reset the default one.

It didn't reset.. I tried installing dice player but nothing, no popup selection appears.. Guess I'll have to format everything and start fresh..

Did u wipe the data of Dolphin Browser or MxPlayer or both? Because you have to wipe the MxPlayer's ones.

Yes I did.. Tried uninstalling but no luck.. This evening I'll format everything, hoping it will work..

Ok now i'm getting really mad.. can anyone try to reproduce the issue? If i run dolhpin browser and mxplayer, i open for example youtube.com and run a video and the default (???) player starts to play, not mx player.. how can it be? It doesn't even ask me which player should it use.. i formatted everything, flashed another rom.. nothing!

Dolphin browser used to do that to me all the time on my Galaxy Nexus. It's not a phone issue.

I'm using Chrome and everything is working fine. MX Player works fine.

So if you open mobile youtube it opens in mxplayer? are you able to control volume and brightness by sliding your fingers?

Never tried YouTube mobile, always just use the app.

yes, i mean try to go with chrome on youtube and then open a video.. does it ask for mx player to be set as default player?

Thanks a lot.. so this is an app/kitkat problem.. let's see if the dev can fix it.. already contacted him..

Hi everyone.. i just updated to KitKat 4.4.1 and the problem persists.. I tried Dice player but nothing.. when i play a video in streaming (using dolphin browser or chrome or chrome beta) it just opens the default player and not ask me to use dice player.. what can it be? am i alone in this??? I tried resetting preferences, full wipe and everything but doesn't work.. should i RMA my phone???
P.S. if someone is experiencing my same or similar problem, answer here..

Resume not working on MX player

I'm using MX Player on Android 4.2. In settings I have selected resume and the podcast stills always starts at the beginning. Then I tried selecting resume and always ask (about resuming) at start up and that doesn't work either. Thanks

It just gets stuck on 00:00. While streaming, loads fully but does not play. And when I forward it, I can see the video Images but won't play. I tried updating the app and tried many different versions of the app, but still no luck. The same videos play well in stock or other players. But I really want Mx Player to work. Please help. I'm using DN4 Rom on my Samsung galaxy s3 i9300. Ty in advance.

In which decoder?
If you have enabled H/W+ decoder (Network) or S/W decoder (Network), disable them and try again.
H/W decoder may work better in some occasions like buffering or authentication issues.

Ty. It's working now. Seems that the option "Stop other players" was causing the problem(see attachment). After almost going through each and every possible option and different settings. I found that disabling this option was the only thing I needed to do. Lol. Now all the videos are playing fine during call and when not on call. Ty for ur help and support. Peace ¥

The above solution did not resolve my problem. Disabling H/W+ (Network) did not work. Using H/W+, H/W or S/W encoding didn't work either. Neither does uninstalling and installing again.
What can I do?

Kindly upload the logs

I have the same problem but with local videos.
I tried reinstalling / uninstalling the MX player but problem remains same. I have Nandroid of my phone so whenever I restore that backup MX player starts playing but after a couple of days again I face the same problem.
Pleasw help me.

Kindly upload the logs.
I am keeps on asking logs. But, no one is providing the logs. There can be multiple reasons for a similar problem. So, until or unless we look into logs we can't provide the exact solution for your issue.

you can force MX Player to start the playback even when it fails get the audio focus by disabling "Play Alone" on Settings > Player

[Q] Problem with MX player when used in Multi Window mode

Hi,
First thanks a lot for this very handy player.
But now I have a problem which concerns the MX Player not directly. I use a Galaxy S4 with Android 4.4.2. Sometimes I use the multi window feature (split screen) to view two videos at once. Now since version 1.7.39 I cannot play two videos at once anymore. If I press 'Play' by the MX Player the other player pauses and vice versa. I hope there is a solution.

Go to:
"Settings>Player>Play Alone"
Unckeck this option and try.
Just in case, restart the player after changing this setting

It should work even with Games.
You can play a video in one window & play the game in another window (if supported).

[Completed] Problem to select bubbleupnp as player

After purchasing the app,i can't select bubbleupnp as player for the chromcast.
I tried to play a movie from movie hd app. It was working before, if i select play through custom player. Now it's not showing.
Any idea how to fix this please?

I fixed my problem by uninstalling MXplayer,i don't why this happened,is it sort of bug????
Anyway the problem has been solved.
