How to make your Facebook timeline cover clearer? - General Questions and Answers

I just save pictures I find on the internet that I find pretty or interesting, but every time I upload it to Facebook, the cover is so blurry. Does anyone know how to make it any clearer? I have Amoyshare Photo Collage Maker Software if it is needed

I upload my images as PNGs, that usually reduces facebooks automatic compression

[APP][SUGGESTION] Auto E-mailer

So I'd do this myself but haven't made the time to. This is more of a request / suggestion for an application. Basically every time you take a photo or a video the application automatically email's the file to any email's you entered into the application. I'm sure its possible since the photo bucket application can upload new photos automatically.
In case you are not aware of why this is useful, basically every photo and video service can accept emails for uploading. Like flickr, facebook, even youtube.
So the program should check the camera's default folder (which should be able to be set in the program) one for new videos and one for new photos. And then use two input fields one for email addresses for new photos and one for addresses for new videos, and then send an email (with some default tags, titles, etc, also able to be set in the program). Then of course you can go through the photos when you get home.
Anyhow if anyone wants to work on this or thinks its a good idea, let me know.

[Q] How do you use old pic files for mms?

So I have about 200 emoticons, gif's, ect that i will want to trans to new phone that I use in texting. I did see the jpeg in Zune, but not any of the Gif files. Does wp7 not handle gif files even for messaging?
My question is when you hit the attach button in messaging what are the options it gives you besides camera? If it opens pics are there catagories it gives you to narrow down what you are looking for or do you end up searching thru your hundreds of pics plus all of your contacts facebook stuff too?
Thanks for answers in advance.

when you hit the attach in messaging you get camera roll, saved pictures, individual skydrive folders, individual facebook albums (every album has it's own tile in the picture hub and includes folders for mobile uploads, profile pictures, wall photos). So if you create a folder with emoticons on skydrive or on the phone you will see a tile just for your emoticons and you only need a couple taps to get to what you need.
Thanks, so any problems using gif files for mms? Those files didn't automatically load to Zune when everything else did.

haven't played with gif files. If I had a problem with gif, I'd just batch convert them to jpg or png (if you need transparency). I don't think ani(mated) gifs will work, but I could be wrong

[Q] How can I make imported photos display by date taken (not date modified)

My technique for managing many photos:
download photos from my phone to to my computer then delete them from the phone,
crop, and edit on my computer
import only the best ones back to my phone.
When dealing with many photos, this is actually much faster then trying to edit and crop many photos on the phone.
The problem is, whenever I import photos to my phone from my computer, the gallery apps, including the stock Android gallery app, sort photos by the date modified or imported to my phone, not the date taken. So my photos taken last year will be sorted by the time I exported from my computer, not the time the photo was taken. Other than using Quick Pic does anyone have a way to fix this?
I'm using a Sony Xperia Z1 and a Nexus 7, and HTC One before that, and all of the native gallery apps had the same problem.

[APP][3.2+] CloudSocial

All - I have developed my first Android application, which is still in its infancy but fully functional.
The app is called CloudSocial, you can find it on the Play store.
I am hoping to get some constructive feedback on its ease of use, usefulness, appearance etc.
Why this app?
I have lots of photos on Dropbox, especially a lot of old ones. There was no easy way to get them onto Facebook without having to download to a device and then upload. You can obviously share a link to the Dropbox folder, but thats not the same as having them actually on Facebook for friends to like and comment on individual photos.
Similarily, my digital camera can upload directly to my NAS drive, which in turn uploads to my Dropbox account. Using CloudSocial - I can easily browse these photos and select which ones I want - and send them to a new or existing Facebook album, with whatever privacy settings I wish.
Description
Send photos from Dropbox to Facebook!
CloudSocial allows you to easily transfer photos from your Dropbox account to Facebook. You can transfer photos to existing Facebook albums, or create and send to new albums.
Features:
* Browse and Transfer photos directly from Dropbox to Facebook
* Easily create a new Facebook album for your photos, or add to an existing Facebook album
* Photos are not downloaded to your phone, so no large data transfers
* Choose Facebook privacy settings for new albums
* Photos are stored on Facebook, so your Friends can Like and Comment.
* Click on a thumbnail image to view a larger photo
Any concerns about permissions, let me know. The app cannot retrieve any passwords for either Facebook or Dropbox! No email addresses or any other user info at all is collected or stored.
The app is ad supported using admob.
Thanks for your time and feedback is appreciated (even critical).
Reserved for Q/A:
Q. Can this app see my password?
No - CloudSocial uses authentication provided by Dropbox and Facebook, so we are unable to see or store any passwords.
Q. Do I have to wait for the thumbails to be downloaded before I select and post my photos?
No - if you know what photos you want to send to your album, just select them (or select all) and hit the post button.
Q. How much data does the application use?
Only thumbnail images are downloaded from Dropbox (not full size images). These thumbnails are very small in size (around 15KB). They are also cached so they will not be downloaded again.
Q. If no images are downloaded to my phone, why does it take so long to send to Facebook?
CloudSocial has to ask Dropbox for a link to your photo. It can take around 1 second for each photo to get that link.
If you are posting a lot of photos to Facebook, it can take a bit longer to retrieve all the links. Good news is that this is done in the background so you can use your phone wihtout interruption.
Q. It takes a long time to list all my Dropbox photos?
If you have lots of images in a folder, it can take longer to list and display them all. You should consider reducing the number of images in a Dropbox folder by creating sub-folders.
Q. Why didn't all my photos transfer?
Occasionally there may be a couple of photos which don't make it. This is often due to internal server errors either on Dropbox or on Facebook. This tends to happen most when you are trying to upload a lot of photos (100+). We recommend uploading 60 or less at a time.
Tried this out and it works great, transferred a lot of photos using it (well my wife did and she found it easy to use).
I've left feedback and rated on Google Play. :good:
Sound good but I usually share my photos directly by url from Dropbox.

Thanks for the reply, I'm curious as to how you share your photos on Facebook. Do you have to share the photos individually?
If you want to share an album from Dropbox to Facebook, it only creates a link to the dropbox folder. So the user has to navigate away from Facebook in order to see the album. And they cannot comment on individual photos.
Also - you may not want everyone to see ALL the photos in an album. With my CloudSocial - you can select whatever photos you want from a dropbox folder, and send them to a new album, with whatever privacy settings you choose for that album.
Try my app and let me know if it is easier to share your photos and let me know!
Thanks

Question Date/Time Stamp Photos

Does any one know how to print the Date/Time Stamp on the photos by default? I know the workaround of opening each pic, and then adding a sticker but its a time consuming thing.
Can this be done by default with out a 3rd party app support?
Thanks
Um... the exif data should have that already and is automatically attached to the jpeg.
Android photo apps tend to have very poor exif management though. Canon apps are much better and easier to use.
